Amo Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 You fear for our creativity if Lowe isn't in the team?? From the rest of his post, I infer he meant putting Lowe & Williamson together. Makes more sense.

Plastics Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 No probs. So where exactly can Williamson play? I presumed he was a central midfielder (to be utilised how he was the other day) but late last week people were referring to him as a winger. Then Appleton described him as being able to play in a few positions in the telegraph tonight. Just how versatile is he?
RoyRover Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I thought I read somewhere that Williamson was a winger? Either way, it sounds like he is a player with pace and with a good engine and fitness to get around the pitch. That's exactly what we need in the centre of midfield at the moment. We have been so drastically bad in that position for the last number of years that it won't be hard for someone to come in and improve it.
Backroom Mike E Posted February 19, 2013 Backroom Posted February 19, 2013 I read he was good at cm, wide mid (rather than winger) and anywhere in backline. But prefers cm.
Ricky Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Anyone know how bad his injury is? Are we looking at weeks or months?
den Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Said on the radio last night that it was feared he had broken his ankle. The doc had since rejected that and it's thought not to be too serious.
Ricky Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Hopefully not too long then Den. We are very light in CM already.
Stuart Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 If we are sweating on the fitness of Williamson, our squad really is in a sorry state. ...and that's after a transfer window.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 If we are sweating on the fitness of Williamson, our squad really is in a sorry state. ...and that's after a transfer window. When you think about it, we certainly have the cover, but 90% of them are not Appleton's men: LW: Olsson MKI & MKII, Nunes, King (when fit), Rekik (according to Appleton), Gamst RW: Bentley, CKR CM: Lowe, Murphy, Etuhu, Gamst, Dunn (if ever fit) Venky's can't be accused of worrying about the wage bill if reports are true that Appleton wants to bring in another LW and a central midfielder.

Yet we had a number of players who couldn't play for contractual "reasons"------Salgado,Roberts, Nelsen (Dunn? (Givet?). So, once again, what they do doesn't make sense.
Rovers_Dan Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Another grella on the books. Just what the club doctor ordered
davulsukur Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/lee-extends-ewood-stay-869737.aspx Signed a new deal till 2015.
Backroom Tom Posted June 17, 2013 Backroom Posted June 17, 2013 One of our better players since he got fit and probably our most effective central midfielder this season
T.J.Newton Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I thought he signed at least a 2 year deal when he joined us, if so it seems a bit unnecessary extending that right now, I've nothing against the player but he's the wrong side of 30 and has already spent half his time with us injured.
JAL Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Another league oner is the team being set up to not score many goals with all these league oners. Who's his agent ?
Guest Norbert Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Christ JAL, you'd be bitching if we somehow created a robot Alan Shearer that magically p_sses Champagne. Whilst most of us would be cheering him scoring his 40th goal in his first season, you'll be on here going on about how he'll leave in the summer, the rest of the team are not good enough etc. But of course you are right, all players that have ever been from the lower leagues have always been sh_t for every team in history.

Early days but i'm looking for a team that can win, or get out of this league....this season. If you're willing to say NO, Rovers arent going to be promoted this season. Then i'd understand with these type of signings.
Backroom Mike E Posted June 17, 2013 Backroom Posted June 17, 2013 Ofc JAL, one of our better players in a season where we finished outside the relegation zone after having 5 managers is League One standard. What little credibility you ever had just evaporated.

OK how many chances did he create, how many chances did he take to score a goal, how many challenges did he win, how many games did he play, and how many did he complete to be this better player. At 31 years of age and never played at a higher level whats suddenly happened for him.
patrickvalery Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 He has played at a higher level hasn't he? Didn't he have a year in the PL with Watford? Anyway, regardless of that, he has experience of the championship, he has been promoted from the division, he adds general experience to our young side, he performed far better than some of his better paid team mates last year and he cost bugger all. In my book that makes him worth another year.
