[Archived] Millwall [H]; 13/3/2013. F.A. Cup Quarter-Final Replay

I'm struggling for too many positives to be honest, we just did really what should be expected from any BRFC team which is work hard. We defended pretty well but if we had the chances that Hulse and Keogh had we would have expected two goals so I can't really sing from the rooftops about defending.

Going forwards was dire, we had no shots on target, how anybody can be happy with any game with that stat bemuses me.

We actually had no shots on target. We hardly ever got ball out wide. Bentley and King were non-existent. Best didn't seem to be a patch on CKR. Yes these guys unfit. But so was Dunny and he was great when he came on. Till then we struggled to pass the ball at all to our own players. Incredibly out-of-form Millwall not same club as Chris Wood driven club that best us earlier this season. Markus Olsson has great difficulty kicking the ball at all. Yes Kean, Hanlry and Dann were terrific. Orr courage when he ce on. But they swarmed on us often when they attacked. They missed a sitter and another inside of post. Our support was fantastic. Totally wonderful turnout in full voice. But till Dunny we were nil as attacking force.

Given that fantastic draw, how upsetting would it be now to sit through another 120 mins of mind numbing boredom on Wednesday with neither side creating a chance worthy of the name only to crash out on penalties?

You sort of know it's probably coming but you can't help yourself, like a moth drawn towards the flame.

Leaving us with no legs for the dingles, sounds just about right.

The point is I've never seen Rovers in the FA Cup Final. My lads have never done it, this is a huge chance for us all to go - together.

Is your ambition to see us in a Cup Final, or to see us win the Cup? One is a worthwhile ambition, the other is completely pointless if we get smashed 5-0.

Why do you say "living in the past two years" as if we're over that? We're sliding down the league with a rookie manager, an abysmal squad and last time I checked we're still owned by the punatics.

Couldn't blame anybody who didn't want to go out in what is likely to be freezing cold to watch the utter borefest that this match is bound to be. I hope we do get a decent-sized support for this match, but it's about time Appleton and the players gave the fans a reason to come. A goal or two would be a good start.

Whats entertainment got to do with a second division team winning a place in the semi finals of the FA Cup?

I would hope the club will match the short replay with short prices to fill the ground = £10adults/£5 concessions... anything else isn't going to work...

18? tutut w.a.nkers

Cheapskate. There are many things we can grumble at re: the Rovers but how can you be bothered about 8 quid for a match of this importance to the club? Talk like that is just a slight on the memory of Jack Walker. Consider the satadium that you will be sitting in for a start. I believe Millwall charged £20/25 on Sat. Scrounging appears to be the popular culture in Blackburn these days. If you want to watch cheap football get down to Pleasi fields!

Game was dreadful as a spectacle, I don't think we got in their box in the first half. Second half was a better game and bringing Dunn on gave us the ability to actually make a pass along the floor. Best and King were clearly not fit. Millwall should have won, with Hulse missing an open net from two yards out.

Good to escape with a draw but Millwall are the one team in the Championship with a worse recent record than us and if we had a bit of quality we would have won.

Thought it was a decent turnout and atmosphere from the Rovers support.

There is something bitter sweet about having our worst team in the past 20 years and also having the most realistic chance of getting to a Wembley semi or even final.

I thought most of our lads were up for a game and didn't roll over against a Millwall team who I saw completely beat us in all departments at Ewood earlier in the season.

We were willing to fight for the ball and did not allow Millwall an easy ride which, I guess, must be to Appleton's orders and therefore to his credit.

Conditions were difficult and we hit the woodwork and it's a replay in the quarters of the FA Cup with a semi-final against Wigan at stake.

If they can take confidence from the way they played, even though the skill wasn't there, then I can see us getting a result on Wednesday.

The key is to match Millwall for tempo and tackles. Rhodes will always get a chance and he wasn't too fat off with his shot yesterday that just went over.

If Apleton is getting this squad to believe in themselves and work for each other then FA Cup nights and derby matches are exactly what they need to enjoy their football again. Same for us fans as well.

Looking forward to Wednesday and Sunday.

Absolutely nothing. But it has a bearing on whether you'd want to go and actually watch it as opposed to sitting in a pub/watching it at home. The difference between Appleton and Allardyce in this regard is that we scored goals and won games with Big Sam, which we currently do not do with Appleton. I don't care if he plays the most boring football on the planet as long as we score a goal or two and win.
