Clitherover Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 at least this result should give venkys a kick up the arse to get a proper manager in asap How many times have we said that in the past. I have absolutely zero faith in Venkys getting a replacement in, and if they do I have even less faith of it being someone suitable who can get us out of this mess. It's almost like they want us to be relegated again.

Backroom DE. Posted April 1, 2013 Backroom Posted April 1, 2013 at least this result should give venkys a kick up the arse to get a proper manager in asap Why are you allocating a logical decision to Venky's thought processes?
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 So do we give it one last shot at staying in the Championship? If so we have to bring in an experienced manager with a survival bonus and hope that he keeps us up. If we continue with Bowyer until the end of the season then mark my words we are going down. We might still go down with a new manager but we have to give it one last shot at staying up, going down to League One will have huge financial ramifications.
Mercer Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The headless chickens will be running around now. Expect Coyle to be appointed for rest of season within the next 24 hours.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted April 1, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted April 1, 2013 The headless chickens will be running around now. Expect Coyle to be appointed for rest of season within the next 24 hours. Even if that did happen, it's p1ssing in the wind.
Clitherover Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The headless chickens will be running around now. Expect Coyle to be appointed for rest of season within the next 24 hours. That would be a strange appointment just until the end of the season, how many relegation scraps has he successfully managed?
Guest Norbert Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Coyle may just get us over the line, but Jesus, we need a manager with steel toe cap boots if you know what I mean. The confidence is not there, but neither is the application or desire for anything more than the next week's wages.
Athlete Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The headless chickens will be running around now. Expect Coyle to be appointed for rest of season within the next 24 hours. is he interested ? could he work for these loons + the firefighter
Dunnfc Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Owen Coyle shouldn't be let anywhere near this club. A manager who pays more attention to table tennis than tactics who hosted training sessions as a kick around as oposed to proper ball skill drills etc, Allegedly. Ex Dingle. No from me.
Mercer Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Been hearing a few things about Rovers and Coyle for close on two weeks now. Is there anything in it or is it just speculation ? Well, you've heard the old saying of no smoke without fire. Is he the answer ? Not sure about that but one thing is for certain, he couldn't do any worse and he's very much an 'impact manager'.
roverandout Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 You're surprising upbeat for someone who just lost away a monkey. no need to talk about appleton like that!!! anyway did i mention it was april 1st today?
broadsword Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The headless chickens will be running around now. Expect Coyle to be appointed for rest of season within the next 24 hours. Ha! Bowyer was appointed until the end of the season, and before that, until the end of Jan. Appleton given 2.5 year deal. Berg, who knows???? Venky's don't do full term of contract, they should just appoint by the game.
Dunnfc Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 no need to talk about appleton like that!!! anyway did i mention it was april 1st today? Only up until midday, after that it is considered bad luck... I don't know how you can lift players attitudes and more importantly motivation/confidence. A Big name needs appointing with a strong personality, 6/7 game contract for Mark Hughes, Martin O'Neill, Bernd Schuster.
Athlete Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 nathan Blake on radio Lancs just said when decisions are being made which are affecting the managers performance - no manager will touch the job with a barge pole
sharpysharps Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 If coyle took over it would signal the biggest humiliation for us lot thus far under Venkys, because he won't keep us up, simple as that. He is not a good manager, he is just another Phil Brown who had a couple of years of success before slumping back into mediocrity big time. Him in charge coupled with us going down, burnley and Bolton will have a field day.
RevidgeBlue Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Mark Bowen was extremely scathing about us today in the second half, much more so than you would normally expect from a summariser who are normally fairly bland. Commented it looked like we lacked desire and that the Cardiff players looked like they'd reached the stage of the season where they were hollow cheeked and were running on reserves. Commented a lot of our players didn't look like that. Meaning that if you weren't hollow cheeked by this stage of the season you hadn't worked hard enough and insinuating one or two of our players have been frequenting the pie shop too frequently. It was damning stuff from him. Made me wonder if he was trying to position himself for the manager's role. Wasn't he linked quite strongly early in the season?
roverandout Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 after he watched that rabble, not sure he would want the job
Guest Norbert Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Anything going on in Twitterland about Coyle or A.N. Other?
davulsukur Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Forgot about the ginger Mourinho, he'd be in with a shout, along with Glenn Roeder, Nigel Spackman, JFK (Joe Kinnear), Ruud Gullit and Nigel Worthington. Basically, any immensely underwhelming choice you can think of. Cross Nigel Worthington off the list as he is currently trying to keep York in league 2.
broadsword Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Somehow I can't quite see the Freak family gathered round a dusty transistor radio in their Pune bunker, taking notes.
Mercer Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Cross Nigel Worthington off the list as he is currently trying to keep York in league 2. Well that's one thing less to worry about then !
roverandout Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Anything going on in Twitterland about Coyle or A.N. Other? i hear mr a.n other is the frontrunner for the job

I heard him , listened to the 2 nd half on 606 .... He was very scathing , more or less accused some of them of not trying ...... Pity he did not name and shame them . But we know who they are !
davulsukur Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Ha, yer certainly is Mercerman. I live in York and am basically trying to think of anything other than Rovers going into league 1.
