BID TO BUY ROVERS

Batterbsy and Currie want to open talks about the sale of the club.

Ian Battersby "Now is the time, the reign has to be over. We don't know the state of the club is financially but it needs to be brought back into local ownership."

"Something has to happen or we will be playing in front of an empty stadium next season. Venky's regime has killed the spirit of the fans. We are ready to talk to Venky's and we just want them to listen because things can't continue as they are."

This really is it now. We need to somehow get Venky's out. The club will die this summer otherwise.

If that is all that has been said, then not much different from quite awhile ago.

IB said something about the Walker trust last night, about broken promises by venkys. He was surprised that the trustees had not exercised the warrants. IMO the Trust has a lot to answer for. Maybe pressure should be brought upon them to take action over the broken promises. Might be the only way to get rid of venkys.

I would agree entirely, the Walker Trust have, by and large, got away with it. They should hang their heads in shame.

Wow what did Rovers do to deserve this bunch of idiots. For the last three years a common statement among fans has been " just when you think it cant get any worse, it does" and this article proves it. Singh is a manipulative snake angling for a position of real power at Ewood . Rovers is now lifeless almost dead, wrecked, ridiculed, torn apart and no doubt in time will be discarded.

Guest Norbert

Reminds me of the end of World War II, when Goering, Bormann and Himmler were striving to put the other down and be Hitler's successor as th Red Army were all over Berlin. All deeply unpleasant people fighting over diminishing scraps of power and status as the country gets anihilated.

I got the impression that he was wary of the possible huge debt that the Venkys have run up, until the amount is known an approach is not realistic.

There's an old saying.

"If you have to ask the price of something you can't afford it."

There will be an update on Seneca buying Rovers in tomorrow's LT.

Seneca: Company with English owners without a pot to **** in in terms of owning a major football Club but with the possibility of introducing some serious backers.

Probiz: Company with Indian owners without a pot to **** in in terms of owning a major football Club but with the possibility of introducing serious backers.

Would that be a fair summation?

The only way IMO for anyone to achieve a sale of BRFC is to work with the Walker Trust, to force a sale from Venkys through the warrants IB mentioned last night. Surely the Walker Trust would be willing to do this providing assurances were given that a third party (Rover Trust,IB or any other consortium) would buy the club from the Walker Trust once they had wrestled it from Venkys clutches. The Walker Trust made a massive mistake selling to the Venkys, the least they could do is help get it back,

Sounds like an unrealistic "Give us the Club for nothing" plea to me Bob.

We've been in this position with Messrs Currie and Battersby hopping about in the background for over 12 months now. If they're in any way serious it's time for them to put up or shut up now and stop unfairly raising the hopes of the fans.

If they haven't got the money, it really isn't helping anyone.

There were some very minor conditions attached to the sale mentioned in the LT.

Not to move Jack's statue. Jack's son in law to stay on Board until certain date.

I think there are covenants safeguarding the future of the training ground at Brockhall.

Beyond that I'd be extremely surprised if there were any sort of conditions enabling the Trust to take back control of the Club. They couldn't wait to get us off their hands and that would be the last thing they'd want tbh.
