[Archived] Is it time to bombard the authorities(whoever they are!)?

A lot of the Press this week especially the 5 Live programme on Monday , seem to be waking up to the fact at last , that something is seriously wrong here.Even people like John Motson a respected commentator in the game was loud and clear about Fit & Proper and foreign ownership.

With sentiment now as much in support of us as at any stage, is it time to try to force a statement and some action from the officail bodies? I am not even sure which one it is any more but if its no longer the PL then they must be heaving the biggest sigh of relief ever known.

They knew this was going to happen and yet nobody is doing a blind thing about it.

Surely its time to protest aimed at the authorities and in doing so i am sure many more Clubs would join in to force the issue with us.

I know we have been talking abut smoking guns and all that and maybe this time it should come from the Trust as the only credible ,official fans voice-but with so many people publicly stating what a disgrace this is, we can't allow this time to come and go IMO.

If venkys wont talk to anybody here which seems the case, then surely they couldnt hide from explaining to the authorities. We just need to get the authorities to pop the questions and let Venkys and Shebby press the self destruct button-and we know they are good at that.

Anybody agree?

They honestly don't care.

We wouldn't be the first club to suffer from overwhelming moronic incompetence.

As long as the gravy train keeps rumbling on, blind eyes will be turned.

Fair point and i supose that includes our very own R Coar!! But enough noise ...??

Following our visits to the authorities last summer, we have remained in dialogue throughout the season. As time has gone by more people have become more inclined to speak about what they know, and have been willing to open up a little. This includes people from around both the family and the football club. Putting together information which not only A ) Gets the attention of the governing bodies, B ) gets you through the door at these governing bodies and C ) gets them to sit and listen attentively to the information you have collated from people takes a hell of a lot of time. In January we stated that all our efforts would now be placed into this field and we have not stopped since then, working day by day, discussing what we have, meeting and talking to various people and chasing leads which have been given to us by people who know little bits but have been prevented from placing it on record legally.

The problem with the authorities and the bodies that govern our game is that we can all tell them until we are blue in the face that "something isn't right" or tell them all about our conspiracy theories, but unless you have that 'smoking gun' or that paper trail which proves you are not just making accusations based on conjecture then they really are not that interested. Owners being incompetent, after all is not illegal!

I think Pompey fans and a few other clubs, were hoping the authorities would save them. We are small fry to them, they will say a few things, but ultimately it will end up with nothing happening. Its time the fans get a couple of chains, and lock themselves up outside ewoods entrances ;)

maybe make contact with supporters groups of the likes of Coventry Portsmouth Leeds etc and campaign to the Football League FA And Premier League challenging the supposed fit and proper persons test because it seem we've all been screwed by it

Does it not seem likely that by sharing all your info with the 'authorities' your actually just showing your cards to another major opponent that couldn't care less about brfc and its fans and their only interested in self preservation.

That's a good suggestion. The voice of as many clubs as possible will surely be better than one, many more clubs than those mentioned have been done over by Jonnies, Argyle would be a good shout.

Its a good point you make there, but there is the other side where if this information comes to light via another channel and the FA have been in possession of it and just sitting on it/ ignoring it/ waiting for the smog to clear/ waiting for loose ends to be tied etc it wouldn't look good on them or any possible shadow dwellers .

But surely various 'other channels'(media) will already know the contents but currently don't have enough evidence to print anything, by running all info through the 'athorities' they would have plenty of time to get their stories straight before anything broke.

What about the incompetence of owners selling their Crown Jewels to foreign owners?...foreign owners have a lot to answer for in our game but without them clubs in this country would be extinct!.

The Trust were a faceless organisation who got saddled with a bugbear they didn't want - and washed their hands of us as soon as someone could stump up the readies. Nevermind that a football agent was at the centre of the deal, or their successors were a bunch of Bollywood-wannabes who know more about frying chicken than they do running a football enterprise. Jack would be spinning in his grave to see what they did with his legacy.
