blueboy3333 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 £1m in agents fees for Best,Murphy, Etuhu & CKR is frankly disgusting. That Fenwig bloke is made for life. As for Singh having a say in transfer targets is beyond stupidity. His agent friend did well though. Scandalous to say the least.

Rover & Out Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 £100k+ to broker the deal of a Portuguese nobody with little other interest is borderline corrupt!
JBiz Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 £1,800,000 for old rope?; Agent Marcos Oliveira £135,000 Diogo Rosado £100,000 Edinho Junior £65,000 Nuno Henrique Goncalves £75,000 Gregor Sandomierski Agent Nuno Rolo £150,000 Fabio Nunes £133,000 Nuno Gones Agent Mendes £156000 Jorge Agent Neil Fewings £1000,000 Best, Murphy, Etuhu
47er Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I think Glen is guilty of making it a willy-waving contest and perhaps he has a deep seated jealousy of Nicko's wide ranging football contacts. Could be that you are turning this into a "willy-waving contest."
Robert Tressell Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I just hope the pre Shebby period is not forgotten and brushed under the carpet, for example; the Rochina and Formica deals, Myles Anderson, Petrovic, the next Rooney, or the Srbian who was supposed to be alright but never got a game, strange team selections based on players not in the right frame of mind or..injured ala Nelson. I guess its easier for associates of SEM or Kentaro to stick the knfe into Rovers and Venkys if Andersons finger aren't prints on it. The squad and team was already well and truly destructed before Singh came... along after we were relegated
47er Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 that daily mail article seems to have accidently on purpose forgot to mention most of those players where brought in on either free or minimal transfer fees so obviously the agents fees for them are going to be high, I honestly think most of the Portuguese players are at least halve decent(from the bitsNbobs I've seen of them) but they needed good management and coaching(on&off the field) to help them settle, et....., they got the extreme opposite of that...... Bottom line is surely that Venkys are spending big money and expecting the results that go with that? Unfortunately they are being taken for a ride.

JBiz Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 id imagine if sold most of the young players would fetch a transfer fee at least matching their agents fees, Nunes & rosasado have obvious attacking ability(though prob not suited to the English game) What about the £3,120,000 we are paying Murphy and Etuhu annually for the next two years.
glen9mullan Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 The Portuguese signings have just not worked and should never have been signed when we needed experience . However when you put things into perspective Kean brought Murphy , Best and Etuhu to the club , they were his signings . The Anderson first window our agent fees were £4.4 million so 650k is a drop in the ocean if just one had worked out . The sad thing here is we have wasted more money paying for a scouting network which has been totally ignored . However rovers are not in The relegation zone because they spent 650k on Portuguese players . They are there cos , Kean bought poorly , then this last window we brought more junk in and shifted out our creative players . Would also point out that the directors negotiate contracts at Blackburn Rovers

More worrying is the quality of the players themselves and the contract lengths given to at best risky signings.
JBiz Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Going rates for the players. More worrying is the quality of the players themselves and the contract lengths given to at best risky signings. I expect 150,000 for a transfer or loan of a player with prem experience on prem wages is the going rate - but the same amount for players, who are then loaned out and replaced by more....
Backroom Tom Posted April 9, 2013 Backroom Posted April 9, 2013 Good news is this makes Shebby look like the fool he is Now that's team Agnews missile launched we can expect team Shebby's to follow With a bit of luck they take each other out

cop Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I can't beleive people are justifying the agent fees on the Portuguese players... They have only racked up a handful of appearances between them all... And unlikely to play for the club again... The club is being totally exploited!
glen9mullan Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Loyal to the end!! Stating facts is simply that , our signings throughout this season have been disastrous but those figures are not as bad as they have been in last 2 years
Baz Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 http://www.football-league.co.uk/staticFiles/8f/8c/0,,10794~167055,00.pdf This is the spending in 2010/11 before the increased TV deal. QPR paid out £1.7m, Boro £1.6m. I dont beleive our are extraordinarily high spends in relation to this. The problem is the quality of the players and continual turnover of playing staff, not the agent fees. How many professionals have played in the 1st team this season?

On the money IMO , awful signings , can't think of any signing who has been value fa money or an improvement bar Rhodes and his fee debatable . However the agent fees are low . I think the story here is revolving around a preferred agent ?

However rovers are not in The relegation zone because they spent 650k on Portuguese players. They are there cos, Kean bought poorly To be fair, Kean signings or not, on paper they were good signings. Murphy is an experienced leader with a vast amount of experience playing at the highest level. Leon Best is a proven goalscorer in the Championship while Etuhu is an established midfielder at this level. Bringing those players in justify an agents fee to some extent.

This is true, good signings or not the agents fees are more justifiable in these cases compared to signing absolute nobodies and paying agents for the privilege
