diziet2 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 interesting times indeed. I think both our seasons come down to Tuesday night. If either win then they are probably going to stay up. If you (Blackburn) lose I think your down given your remaining fixtures. I think if we (Huddersfield) lose then we are close to being down ( mainly because we have a Bristol city - who are gone; still to play). The way of it though is the game will probably be a draw which I think is a worse result for you ( again given the relative opponents each of the teams have left to play). At the beginning of the season I had a bet with puffsan with £50 going to a charity of the winners choice. The bet being won by whichever team finished the highest. I m just checking to see if he is still going to honour the bet if he loses? Regards Ben

I think Rhodes is guaranteed to score against us.. .as that's what happens in football. so if we ( Town) are going to win we will have to score two goals and to be fair since Rhodes went' scoring is not our greatest strength. as an aside' and i don't want to take it off topic, why would you wait for a designated thread to chat about something? do you not allow normal discussion to just evolve? I can understand fully consolidating/merging threads once a match discussion thread is up etc... seems odd not to just chat about something on my mind though? All the best Ben
Backroom Tom Posted April 14, 2013 Backroom Posted April 14, 2013 No reason Ben only that I imagine the talk will be about the game which is the same as will be in the match thread and saves splitting a discussion in two that's all
Al Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Your chances are enhanced due to Colin Kazim Richards and Hanley, arguably two of our best players being suspended. Kaz is particularly difficult to replace due to his speed and (not always controlled) aggression. Bad luck to you Tuesday but better after that!

There was some discussion on DATM ( town messageboard) that they might only be suspended after the Huddersfield game?
Andy Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I can't see any further than a Rovers win. Rovers have been poor this season, but Huddersfield have been poorer. 1-0 or 2-0.
ChrisyG Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 My predictions is we'll win 2-1, someone will release a chicken on the pitch and people will moan that the games been delayed a few minutes, Huddersfield will get relegated and Ben will owe Puffsan £50.

It will be an interesting game for sure. Thing is, after a horrendous middle part of the season, the robins revolution is happening. In both games with the loses to Hull and Bolton we matched them, even played better than them over the whole 90 mins but could not score the goal we needed and got caught with stupid defensive errors to lose 1 nil. We won at leeds the previous game and got the draw at peterbrough. My feeling is we have changed and have got some form going. If we are starting to score then Town will be starting to show what they can do once more. A big bonus is Keith southern ( midfield enforcer, general scrapper) is back and got 30 mins at wolves. too close to call this, it all depends if your players buy into what gary Bowyer is trying to do?

Hmmmmm. Changed my mind 1-1.
Waggy76 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Certainly think who ever wins will stay up , but if either team loses they are still in with a chance of staying up ... This league is crap , anyone can beat anyone , there are no Man U , Man City ,Chelsea , Arsenal (who we beat) Spurs or anyone remotely that good ... AS for Hanley and Richards being out , we will miss Hanley but Richards is a lazy waster (not on his own ) got talent but he very rarely uses it ! I think Rovers will win , but if we don't we are not down ... Bristol City , Peterboro and Barnsley to go down ... But I will say that Blackburn Rovers deserve to be relegated ..

I think Rovers will win , but if we don't we are not down ... Bristol City , Peterboro and Barnsley to go down ... But I will say that Blackburn Rovers deserve to be relegated .. take a look at what peterbrough have been doing. 9 games unbeaten, including wins over Cardiff and Watford who are currently in positions 1 and 3 in the league. they are the form team over the last 1/4 of a season. Bristol city I think are gone because there is just to much of a gap and at least 3 teams will pick up 2 wins. Wolves are the next likely due to their run in (very tough) and the injuries and suspensions they have picked up in the last 3 games. that leaves the rest of us. upto Ipswich/Wendies. Tuesdays game and depending on which way other results go could be season defining. On another note, if you do go down, can be get Rhodes back on some sort of lease scheme? We could negotiate quite reasonable rates?...
Stuart Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 On another note, if you do go down, can be get Rhodes back on some sort of lease scheme? We could negotiate quite reasonable rates?... He's not for sale, Ben.We DEFINITELY, 100% won't sell him. Ever.

rovers11 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Think this one will be a draw. I would actually say that Huddersfield have tougher fixtures than us - 4 relegation battles. Bristol City away is tough, think you'll lose that. Probably a draw against us and Millwall and a win against Barnsley. I would guess Huddersfield will escape relegation. I think we'll draw against Hudds, lose to Millwall and Watford, draw against Palace and sneak a win against Birmingham. That would give us 55 points and probably safe. Not convinced though as with Rovers we've come to expect disappointment. Millwall and Ipswich will be fine. Wolves will probably go now. That leaves Peterborough and Barnsley. Peterborough have got tough fixtures but i expect them to survive. Draw against Bighton, lose to Derby, beat Sheff W and Palace. Barnsley are in the biggest danger. They blew it against Charlton. They simply have to beat Derby. If they don't, then it's going to be very tough for them. I expect them to beat Derby, lose to Forest, draw against Hull and lose to Hudds. 4 points from 4 which would see them on 53. We could only need 4 more points with our superior goal difference. Beat Hudds ans we're pretty much there, lose and it will go to the final day, draw and the nerves would continue to jangle but not a disaster.
