Al Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 ... but how many indisriminate worldwide atrocities are carried out in the name of Christianity / Buddhism / Hinduism / Judaism? Not many that you can readily think of thats for sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religious_leaders_convicted_of_crimes Fill yer boots Plenty of crimes but hardly up to the horror of 9/11 or the London bombings are they.

thenodrog Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 ... but how many indisriminate worldwide atrocities are carried out in the name of Christianity / Buddhism / Hinduism / Judaism? Not many that you can readily think of thats for sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religious_leaders_convicted_of_crimes Fill yer boots Thats pathetic colin. With the exception of the Jap / Sarin gas incident they are all sexual crimes or relatively minor misdemeanours perpetrated for personal gratification by a variety of God squad nut jobs with their Bible in one hand and their pricks in the other. Lots of equivalent crimes go on within the world of islam on the basis of honour killings, stonings for a variety of reasons, female subjugation and circumcision, child abuse etc etc. In fact with the exception of stonings the rest have happened recently in BwD ffs! They are not the mass indiscriminate slaughter of innocents simply in the probability that the majority are kafirs and such acts will in some way promote the spread of Islam.
SAS Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Well this terror attack has convinced me to run a marathon this weekend. (Manchester) Terrorists will not stop us doing things..
thenodrog Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Well this terror attack has convinced me to run a marathon this weekend. (Manchester) Terrorists will not stop us doing things.. Nothing..... I repeat NOTHING would ever convince me to run a marathon SAS! However I might be ever so slightly tempted to give one a go IF I EVER saw a runner with a smile on his face!
Backroom Mike E Posted April 23, 2013 Backroom Posted April 23, 2013 Nothing..... I repeat NOTHING would ever convince me to run a marathon SAS! However I might be ever so slightly tempted to give one a go IF I EVER saw a runner with a smile on his face! I think the point of a marathon is to raise money for charity and/or for personal achievement. Not for enjoyment theno haha. No pain no gain and all that
ABBEY Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Looks like a certain group have been arrested in Canada for planning to derail a train . FFS .

Al Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 5 dead in a shooting in Seattle. I bet it's a white American again, those guys can't go five minutes without a violent outburst. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-22105916 Good job they don't know how to make bombs or they might turn into terrorists.
colin Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 They are not the mass indiscriminate slaughter of innocents simply in the probability that the majority are kafirs and such acts will in some way promote the spread of Islam. Theno. I know, but that is not the question that you asked is it?
Al Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Theno. I know, but that is not the question that you asked is it? And that did not answer his question about worldwide atrocities carried out in the name of religions did it.
thenodrog Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 5 dead in a shooting in Seattle. I bet it's a white American again, those guys can't go five minutes without a violent outburst. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-22105916 Without reading about this I'd suggest that is a pretty sound bet Jeru...... given that they've hardly got any blacks up there.
Al Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Without reading about this I'd suggest that is a pretty sound bet Jeru...... given that they've hardly got any blacks up there. Domestic killing according to US Police.
T4E Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I bet it was a South African with no legs. That's a notoriously violent demographic.
Steve Moss Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Well, if the motive was ever in question this should clear it up http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/04/24/17893358-nypd-chief-marathon-suspect-says-brothers-were-headed-for-new-york-to-party?lite. "The surviving brother has told investigators that the pair acted alone, were inspired by an al Qaeda propaganda magazine, and plotted the bombing to defend Islam after the U.S.-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, federal law enforcement officials told NBC News." And here's a case that it is the West' liberal welfare state which enables/fosters jihadists: http://web.archive.org/web/20020207113937/http://slate.msn.com/?id=2059799 I think the article is a bit off target for a variety of reasons, but I do agree that we need to assimilate (i.e. Westernize) our immigrant populations faster.
colin Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 And that did not answer his question about worldwide atrocities carried out in the name of religions did it. Maybe not, happen these will provide a bit of background though. Perhaps not "worldwide, but we can't have everything can we? Mass murder of Jews in York. http://ddickerson.igc.org/cliffords-tower.html The Spanish Inquisition (I know, hard to resist Monty Python......) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Inquisition The Crusades http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusades And who can forget the Holocaust, admittedly it was not only the Jews, but Gypsys, trade unionists & gay people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust Onward to India http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_violence_in_India And finally, back to dear old England with the persecution of both Catholics & Protestants http://atheism.about.com/library/FAQs/christian/blfaq_viol_reformation.htmd None of which is to take anything lightly, but just to point out that religious prosecution & violence has been going on since man was stupid enough to invent religions and then decide that anyone who didn't agree with him/her deserved to die. As for me, I'm a Pastafarian http://www.venganza.org/
Backroom Mike E Posted April 24, 2013 Backroom Posted April 24, 2013 At least the Spanish Inquisition gave you 30-days' notice (Genuinely. Monty Python were sadly wrong).
Al Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 It's a bit pathetic to have to resort to history books to support an discussion about current affairs Colin would you not say.
Andy Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I hold strong reservations of all religions and especially the ones which promote the ridiculous (and dangerous) concept of life after death. I consider them to be flaky but Islam is the flakiest that I can think of. I simply cannot understand why educated people need an invisible friend to get through their lives in a proper manner. + times infinity.
ABBEY Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Just seen them 3 scum bags on the beeb .. Jailed for wanting to bomb MI5 and the town that stood as one as our brave fallen went through. Made my blood boil as did the bombers mother saying the US took her children ... What is wrong in people's heads .

colin Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 It's a bit pathetic to have to resort to history books to support an discussion about current affairs Colin would you not say. Not at all. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." - George Santayana
dave birch Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Colin, what about all the other wars, battles, disagreements inbetween? BTW, I'm not going to look them up. I'll leave it to those with nothing else to do.
