ffs those harping on about venky`s out, enjoy the result tonight, the manner it was acheived and what it represents, then in the summer we can concentrate on what happens next. one thing to note, even if venky`s put the club on the market, it took the walker trust 3 or 4 years(wasn`t it?) to sell and that was as a premier league club, so i wouldn`t expect them to be gone any time soon in any case.

we are better off hoping they look into doing things right(asking the right sort of people how to do it).

i completely agree with the sentiment of enjoying the result and putting Venkeys to one side just for a moment, but some people just like to find negatives even when we have an opportunity to enjoy what very few relatively successful moments we have in recent times. However, i still feel the club would be better without the Venkeys, in almost any circumstances.

Don't wish to appear pedantic but you're that far up to speed you can't yet spell the name of the owners correctly.

Has Roversmad closed down or sommat?

Fairly sure we're all agreed that ideally Venkys would be gone and someone wealthy enough to take fairly large initial losses takes over.

In the absence of that, there's nothing unreasonable in thinking how they might be tolerated if not exactly welcome.

Not in my World matey. Things have gone too far for that. If you had cancer would you just tolerate it ?

` Fair enough, if no one comes in then we're stuck with the clowns and their, at very best, utter negligence.`

exactly, and that being the case, isn`t it then best to hope they can get their act together? what`s so bad about me hoping for that?

As many have said on here, its the hope that destroys you.

not sure what you mean there.....

but it's the predictive text on my phone that keeps putting venkeys instead of venkys

Fair enough, last thing I want to do is make excuses for them, I've hated the last two years as much as everyone else.

All I'm thinking of is how we can go from the shower we've endured this season to something better on the pitch next year. If Venkys are still in charge, which seems fairly likely, we have to deal with the world as we find it instead of how we'd like it to be.

They're never going to be anything other than disliked, but if we want (even modest) success next year, imo we need to be in a position when they can at least be ignored.

Massive result. One that may put off possible financial ruin for another year, while these clowns are calling the shots.

Rhodes goal tonight puts him 2 goals behind the top scorer in the league. Just shows how much we've had to rely on his goals this season.

Murray Crystal Palace 29 Rhodes Blackburn 27 Austin Burnley 25 Vydra Watford 20 Wood Leicester 20

And while playing a crap team with shocking players and terrible service. Well done son.

Venky's are not going to put in a 'proper board'. I wish people would stop talking such utter @#/?. We need shut of them. End of story. No more chances.

Too right they won't. We were all saying this the same time last year i.e surely they'll bring in a new manager and someone to run the show. Infact how many times before has it been said since they pitched up. Nothing will change, i can see us in a similar position this time next year perhaps a few different characters, a few different players and definitley a few thousand fans lighter but still the same old charade.

That comment makes me cringe because everybody has been hoping that for the last 2 years and it's patently obvious that it isn't going to happen, and as to your previous comments re Venkys the fans have every right to say exactly what they think about such despicable owners and scraping out of relegation doesn't change that.

I'd like them to appoint Gary Bowyer only because I wouldn't trust them to get another appointment right. At least we know Bowyer has 'something', doesn't bullshit us and has the respect of the players. Also, we shouldn't underestimate the effect of bringing on good, trusted youth players (our academy, not portugese randomers) in this division, which Bowyer has plenty of experience of.

I'd rather that than any of Peter Taylor, Judan Ali or random ex-player anyway.

While the London media comments are all about Hanley's 'dive", the most telling comment I've seen comes from the last line of the Independent's report:

"The next permanent manager must focus on the fitness of a side that, on paper, looks a decent match to anyone in this division."

When Hughes was here we had the best specialist appointments money could buy. The result was that we were the fittest side in the Premiership, never mind this 2nd layer league.

At Rovers we always have to maximise our opportunities, with Venkys we are always hanging on.
