Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 There's one person out there who will be offended, sorry matey. Patrick Valery was awful for a Premier League player.

jim mk2 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Kuqi was the worst I have seen. People say he scored goals but as a player he was appalling and had none of the basic skills. I'm sure he had concrete in his boots instead of feet.
Backroom Mike E Posted October 19, 2013 Backroom Posted October 19, 2013 Kuqi was the worst I have seen. People say he scored goals but as a player he was appalling and had none of the basic skills. I'm sure he had concrete in his boots instead of feet. But he supplied DAT CROSS for DAT GOAL vs Fulham! We really were treated to 2 wondergoals that day.
FGS5635 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 He did have a lol daft celebration though that must score him some bonus points
Moptop Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Richard Brown came from Kettering Town I believe.
Andy Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I did like Sebastian Perez. Crap at defending, but bombed forward like a madman. But awful Rovers players in my time are Blake, Ward, Peacock, Dailly, Fettis, Dahlin (conman), Per and Tore Pedersen, Grabbi, Donis and Grabbi.Perez was decent.Always remember that header away in Europe...against the French team who I can't remember the name of. Ward takes some beating in fairness.
Blue blood Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Kuqi was the worst I have seen. People say he scored goals but as a player he was appalling and had none of the basic skills. I'm sure he had concrete in his boots instead of feet. Probably the worst footballer I've ever seen technique and ability wise but boy was he effective against the teams in the bottom half of the table. Can remember numerous games where he terrorised the defence with his sheer presence, and his attitude always meant he was liked despite his lack of technique. Wish we'd have had the Kuqi of old, rather than best today. Neither could trap a ball to save their life, but I warrant the Charlton defence would've had a much tougher ride against Kuqi today.
Sparky Marky Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Kuqi was the worst I have seen. People say he scored goals but as a player he was appalling and had none of the basic skills. I'm sure he had concrete in his boots instead of feet. He plays or played with Spirit, an attitude of never say die...sadly lacking in the modern day British young footballers...very talented but no passion, no drive, everything given to them early on. You can tell Kuqi has had to work....a good player
Blue n White Rover Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Leon Best won't be too far away ... He did a lot more than Rhodes today that's for sure. Rhodes was woeful, always is if he doesn't score. Best at least tried, albeit failed majority of the time, to get the ball down and bring the midfield into play. Other than that one shot from Rhodes, he was non-existent.
Amo Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Perez was decent. Always remember that header away in Europe...against the French team who I can't remember the name of. Olympique Lyonnais, wasn't it? Perez was quality. I still remember him getting sent off against Chelsea for catching Le Saux's hand with his face.
BlueMonday Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Richard Brown came from Kettering Town I believe. It was defo non league as I remember and it showed. Still hazy as to who signed him. Thought it was McKay, but could have been King Kenny. Awful anyhow...
G Somerset Rover Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Olympique Lyonnais, wasn't it?Perez was quality. I still remember him getting sent off against Chelsea for catching Le Saux's hand with his face. I was absolutely devastated after that game. We deserved all 3 points but got sucker punched by the referee, Brian Laudrup and Tore Andre Flo.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Paul McKinnon for me. Am I right in saying his only goal in blue and white was an own goal for the reserves? Richard Brown was poor though. Prefered Sean Curry to Tony Diamond though. Seemed to remember Curry scoring a cracker against Bradford.
92er Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 John Coddington. Interesting. Do you think he was worse than Darren Peacock, for example?
darrenrover Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Interesting. Do you think he was worse than Darren Peacock, for example? Absolutely! Darren Peacock was Franz Beckenbaur!
4000Holes Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 John Coddington. Worst penalty taker. At the time I was devastated after his two attempts but now look back and laugh!
levi Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 juey Atherton.... I've never actually seen him or heard of him to be honest but I remember a bloke shouting "your the worst player since juey Atherton" at tim Sherwood in the old second division.....followed by a "who the f**** juey Atherton!!??" from someone else made me chuckle anyway
blondie Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Dewi Atherton Sadly passed away at an early age.
Gav Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 juey Atherton.... I've never actually seen him or heard of him to be honest but I remember a bloke shouting "your the worst player since juey Atherton" at tim Sherwood in the old second division.....followed by a "who the f**** juey Atherton!!??" from someone else made me chuckle anyway Sherwood was useless in that first season, looked like he'd never played football in his life.
92er Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Absolutely! Darren Peacock was Franz Beckenbaur! I have recollections of Coddington as a penalty taker. His technique is very difficult to describe to those who never saw him. "How not to take a penalty","interesting" or "b...... Awful".But I have absolutely no recollections of him being a particularly poor centre back. I do however have memories of Peacock as absolutely awful!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Coddington was an old fashioned centre half, technically limited but a decent stopper. Talking of centre halves I thought Christian Dailly was bloody awful and worse than either Peacock and Coddington.
Stuart Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Is this thread designed to make us appreciate the players we have now? If not, it's a pretty miserable way to go over the club's history!
