Shabby is a smooth talker and, after all that's what TV pundits do----talk about nothing for hours.

I think his appointment is all about PR, particularly with the media and with fans. It's significant that he's already met with

BRAG people. Perhaps part of his brief is to learn as much about them as he can and report back?

I'm not expecting any action of a useful kind. Too much murky water has flowed under the bridge for me.

The club needs cleansing from top to bottom and nobody should believe anything that comes out of the club till that happens.

Again we have another 'nobody' getting his big break in a job he is nowhere near qualified to do at our clubs expense. He certainly isn't going to rock any boat for the forseeable future. Kean will have built a powerful ally base within the club...singh will be seen as the enemy initially.

Then let's hope Singh has the power to remove Kean and does so sooner rather than later.

If the goal is promotion, why would any competent business person (or family) gamble 4-5 games (12-15 points) on Kean? Those are points which would be lost forever. And in a league where goal difference matters (for those of you from India with no expertise in football reading this- that's a tie breaking mechanism when the points are tied), why would you risk a single point which could mean the difference between promotion or further stagnation?

What a load of rubbish. Avoid every question and give the answer you want to give and have prepared and not the one you are asked. As for relegation no longer being part of their vocabulary, I'd suggest they relearn it pretty quickly as, if Kean stays, they will certainly hear it again.

We have regrouped and will start afresh: Shebby Singh

http://www.dnaindia....y-singh_1709266

Shebby is in tip top crap spewing form and for me is starting to be less funny:

''The word relegation is now banned from our vocabulary. We have regrouped and will start on a clean slate.'' (Meaning: Fat Slag loves Coco)

''A spade is still a spade and will always be a spade.'' (meaning: if it looks like crap, smells like crap it probably is crap)

''We are identifying the right players. We have to work doubly hard to convince players'' (cos we have Kean as manager - inserted)

''Relegation has led to talks that everyone wants to leave. To our knowledge, nobody has expressed a desire to quit.'' (FFS some tell him about Yak, Robbo, Hoilett etc)

''All relegated clubs have to face exodus.'' (Truth at last)

''we could face special circumstances. To cite an example, a player out of contract is free to choose his next employer.'' (Protecting Kean by blaming SA for Hoilett's imminent flight)

Last Season - Did the owners/coach and the players remain on congenial terms?

''I prefer looking forward as living in the past can sap your energy. You must learn from the past and move forward.'' (classic head in the sand and from a SPURS fanatic)

Indeed, another Venky mouthpiece with no authority.

He's obviously been brought in as he's untainted by last season's debacle and this 'anti Kean' tag and his semi apologetic tone in interviews will fool enough of the fans to think things really will be different this time.

Well not me, another season of protest awaits.

They're really laying on thick this clean slate business. I wonder how many fans will be suckered in to "seeing how it goes" at the start of the season?

I did think that Singh was our global advisor though, not PR. Another promotion pending? Makes me wonder if his meeting with the Action Group was also just about telling them what Venkys wanted them to hear - however sincere he came across.

Think your right 47er

Interesting he met BRAG and i think Wayne Wild /BRSIT and they are both coming back with half positive noises.Be interesting to know whether he has made any attempt to contact the 2 Ians. I rather feel he might know he is out of his depth talking to proper business professionals and that his line of flannel won't work with those 2.In other words , he is worried he might get exposed for what he is-a bullsh1tting, mouthpiece for The Venkatrons.

Shabby = The Malaysian Kean

That is spot on. His latest interview is short on specifics but awash with phrases like 'positive energy'. Every time I log on I'm praying that the dam has burst, so to speak. We have all had to suffer these chancers for far too long.

The money these chancers and incompetents are making out of BRFC makes me feel physically sick.

Indeed. Much-loved town club infiltrated and poisoned by corrupt outside influences, depressing an entire community. It's a classic tragedy.

I found Shebby quite a likeable guy tbh, He is very approachable, very humourous and was very keen to listen to supporters opinions on all things rovers. The meeting we had was an introductory meeting and by no means was we roped in by a charm offensive. We will be meeting again in a couple of weeks when the real work will begin in terms of questions which not only need to be answered but need direct action.

One of the lines I used was "If Ronaldo or Messi walked through the door today it would not repair the damage which has been done,". The meeting with Shebby was a small step, but much larger steps will be needed. Our relegation and the way our club has been dismantled in the last 18 months is near unforgiveable. We made no bones about this in an initial meeting which lasted just under an hour due to the Danny Murphy press conference.

From a personal point of view, I attended the meeting open minded with Shebby, and remain so. The merits of this line of communication are far too early to suggest anything bar communication has been opened,

Sounds exactly what the fans forum members said when they returned from Pune ;)

Time will tell, but for me he's a puppet, and powerless puppet at that.

Don't be fooled, Glen.

I'm convinced that Singh has taken Agnew's role as PR (even if not in title). As far as I am concerned he is just saying the right things in whatever forum he is put in front of.

Actions speak louder than words.

The only small step so far has been the signing of Murphy. But it's a VERY small step.

As long as they continue to support and protect Kean it's all meaningless. We've had so many "Kean will be sacked if...", followed by him winning the odd point here and there to "change Desai's mind". This latest "clean slate" is the biggest load of BS to date. It basically means his record, BS and lies of the last 18 months, and even his conviction and comments about Allardyce, are expunged and can never be referred to again. I imagine, he'll get another clean slate on New Years Day and another one if we are relegated again.

They appear to sack anyone who causes them public embarrassment (Hunt) - or who can take the fall for Kean (Jensen) yet their biggest embarrassment still hangs around like a cloud over a cesspit.

Nothing Singh says, however sincere or funny or empathetic, makes any difference whatsoever. Until he utters the only words supporters want to hear he's just a mouthpiece for Venkys.

Well you've met him Glen and I haven't but there is a risk that this is the visit to Pune all over again.

They welcome you, they nod sagely at the points you make(without ever committing themselves to anything other than a future meeting), you take to them, you feel they've really listened and you feel optimistic about the next meeting.

Then? NOTHING!

Hope I 'm wrong but that's what Venkys have conditioned me to expect. The clue is in the LT answer he gave to a question about

Kean--------"I'm looking forward not back" as if mistakes of the past can't be corrected!!! If its a tricky point it will be evaded.

Sorry if I can't join in the optimism but, for them, you are the enemy and I strongly suspect it's important to them that you are neutralized. You may even get a job offer out of it. Beware!

PS----just seen Stuart's excellent post above which must have come in while I was typing. Sorry to appear repetitive.

At the moment I view on actions - at the moment we have purchased Murphy - and have more than a couple of reasonable players lined up.

Next is seeing how many leave - I think we all expect a number to leave - it is all a question of how many.

IMO we have taken baby steps forward - after 18 months of going backwards. Is it a new dawn - no, as I don't think the healing process can start until Kean is sacked and a reasonable manager brought in.
