For people asking why we can't attract players. The answer is simple - we are a lower second division club with a ground that is empty at home games. We have no money and are situated in an area that nobody wants to live.

Plus we have a manager that nobody who hasn't got knowledge of Youth level football has even heard of. The main achievement of the manager is saving us from relegation. He may be a great manager but at present he does not have anything personally to sell the club to any new players.

Oh yes.....also in the eyes of the football world we have the worst set of supporters that are akin to the Hitler Youth.

Other than that I can see talented players fighting to get a chance to play for the mighty Rovers. Its back to the days of the 70s and 80s of living off other teams cast off or the odd decent loan player. I remember Don Mackay bringing players on trial from Bulgaria etc. We even had players on loan from Millwall reserves who then cleared off to join Plymouth as they were a better bet.

See we have another 'bad un' lined up, all the way form the UEA.What on earth is going on at the club, why cant Rovers attract some decent players, or is it that the agent the club uses doesnt have any decent players or contacts. All these second rate players that Rovers are looking at aint making Gary Bowyer look good.

Aye that one from the French 3rd tier and that one from Hertha Berlins C-team were crap too.

You can only go off how they do while here. Must admit I'm a little wary, mind.

I think our transfer dealings of the last few years have made people naturally suspicious.

Personally, I can't be assed to worry about it. Que sera, sera.

We've been doing that since 2000 too. It's no different really. Just at a lower level now.

To be fair in the last couple of seasons we have managed to attract dross with paying high wages. Enter Mr. Muphy snr. This now does not seem to be the case as per Mr. Murphy jnr joining Leeds instead of us.

Time to get real for some people and realise that for a club in Rovers demographic and footballing positions maybe we are just returning to our true position in football's hierarchy and the level of players we are now looking at reflects that.

Most Rovers players of the last 20 years have been quite happy to drive 20 mins down the motorway in their £70k plus cars not a problem.

Plus we have great facilities at the ground and the training complex, perhaps one of our biggest problems lies in the boardroom, we need someone

to sell the club to outsiders, unfortunately Lofty is more used to selling 2nd hand racking.

That would be 13th in the top flight according to the all time league tables.

Most players have also been on above average wages for a team in the relevent league at the time, which appears to be a thing of the past. Yes the ground on 3 sides is impressive but not when its empty on matchdays. Training facilities are great but if the coaches are not what does that get you? They may help persuade a player if say it is between us or Burnley or Bolton grant you.

I know this is easy to corrupt stats but take away the Walker years as they were unbelivable and funded by a sugar daddy and the very early years of pro football then re evaluate.

The average arm chair supporter or skysports viewer will have Rovers and other Lancashire clubs as second tier teams at best.

Genuinely don't think this is something Bowyer is pushing, it goes completely against everything he has been doing this summer.

This player and the circumstances around it are very similar to the kind of thing that was happening last summer with the portuguese no marks...

Tend to agree with you sage, as it looks like the club is being continually screwed with poor players on high wages being dumped onto the Blackburn faithful.

Not trying to make out everything is rosy, far from it, but I do think the promised changes in the boardroom could make a substantial difference to

our prospects, and with Gary Bowyer and the likes of Craig Short we certainly have a better chance of putting a team on the park that will give us

a bit of hope and something to get behind, as opposed to the bloody shambles of 12 months ago under that chancer Coco.

Shaw Out !

The older ones won't and neither will the younger ones.

I'm amazed that you know the playing ability of our squad better than a coach who's been involved here for nigh on 10 years. And there's also knowing the wages of all signings even though they've been reported nowhere. What's your secret??

We would seem secound tier if you took all are success away but you could use that knotion with every club in the world.

Indeed, and too many people think of Blackburn Rovers as the town, you need to think of it as a football club, I'm pretty sure most Rovers fans

who where born and bred in Leyland or Chorley would say that Preston has always been a more impressive town.

You know Dingles I don't understand why we don't just pack it in and go watch Rugby. Miserable git.

10th Blackburn Rovers. Champs 3 FA Cup 6 League Cup 1 10 2002 LC

It's been discussed before Mark. (Probably several times).

Look at our post-WW2 record - and take away the Walker era and subsequent (unsustainable) legacy period and redo your sums.

(Preston is a City.)

Besides Posh Cheshire and The Lakes are less than an hour away, and the Ribble Valley is stunning too. Ive never agreed that we are in an unpopular area. I think we are a lot better off than both the Birmingham clubs, and the North East clubs on those grounds.

Didn't use to be miserable until the mighty Rovers went into decline.

Just fed up of people asking why we can't attract any decent players when its obvious why.

I live in hope that we can return to the good old days and that hopefully the bargain bucket presents some gems.

Actually think Bowyer is not doing a bad job in the circumstances.

Take your point about North East clubs but they tend to play in relatively full stadia each week. For the Birmingham clubs, their players can live south of Brum and be relatively close to the bright lights of London.

Anything else you'd take away ?

A large part of football is about history and records, for lots of people anyway.

Every club has had their barren periods,

If GB is going to put his money on the likes of Josh Lowe then don't think he's the man for Me

He's worked a long time with this Liowe and if he can't see that he's crap and very limited then says a lot of GB........

Interesting that soon as David Dunn and Williamson signed there new contracts they never play another game so far . Hope somebody in the medical team is held accountable ...

For my take Abdul-Rahman is a step above lcompared to Lowe ....jobs for the boys comes to mind ...think if your local it covers a lot of faults ..

They're all bad-uns in your eyes lately Jal. Constant negative snap judgements. You've had the persona of a man who keeps losing tenners and finding fivers for quite a while now.....

The midfield today looks like it is the one Bowyer going to go with as they are all his signings plus Lowe who's one of his boys. Sadly they all might be tryers but it's a very poor/weak midfield even at this level. Possible exception being Taylor. Hope it's just injuries etc that forced him to pick that midfield line up 2 games on the trot :)

Josh Lowe? Is this Jason's even less talented brother? Or worse still a cloning experiment which produced a hybrid of Josh Morris and Jason Lowe? The horror...
