Let us all get things into perspective .

I have watched BRFC since 1969 , 2 promotions to the big league ..

Forget the boasts of Johnny Carey ' 1st Division before man goes to the moon', it took us til 1992 ..

The managers were Kenny Dalglish and Graeme Souness ..

There is not a hope in hell , that the present players and management will be any where near the play offs let alone promotion .

Simon Garner was better than Rhodes and we have nobody (besides Dunn) who is anywhere near Sellars....This club is going to hell in a handcart and the blame in my opinion lies at the owners ..

They do not give a crap !

We now have 3rd rate players and management structure and that spells relegation ...

I would be amazed if we finish higher than we did last season ...

I have said this before , i will take conference football tomorrow if venkys do one ...Until they leave us forever Blackburn Rovers will carry on their nosedive to obilivion ...

I have to say, the gloom seems to be on the horizon again after a promising start to the off season shenanigans, things just seem to have gone very stale, If the club want to start moving forward we need to see some actual money being spent soon on solid players otherwise the conspiracy theories will be rising back to the surface and we will be back to square 1.

also I know friendly results don't mean much but I still think by all accounts that we should at least be performing better and looking fitter.

If that happens , I will be amazed !

Maybe a minute proportion of the Rhodes transfer fee, at best ..

Abdulrahman just seems like its something that's being pushed onto GB(I imagine shabby has a hand in it), I just don't see the player being anywhere near championship standard(neither technically, physically or mentally)

Spot on, I said last night there's some kind of commercial value in this deal outside of football reasons.

Singh still has his hands in the club, despite the fact he's not in the country.

They're all bad-uns in your eyes lately Jal. Constant negative snap judgements. You've had the persona of a man who keeps losing tenners and finding fivers for quite a while now.....

My apologies its been such a wonderful time for the club these past three years. Cant wait for the season to kick off and see a nearly full Ewood Park cheering on victory after victory at fortress Ewood.

? Give the lad the benifit of the doubt have you ever seen him play?

Theres a lot in that video so whoever released it scored an own goal.

You have never seen him sure they had some decent players in the olympics give him a chance it's only fair. Just because he is from the UAE does not mean he's crap it's like a club in the past saying don't bother with that Weah lad Liberias never had a good player.

Not sure about that, technically he looks better than most of the crap we've had in midfield for a couple of years, the physical bit would be down

to the referees, maybe we'd get loads of free kicks, he looks quite chunky compared to Modric, in fact I'd say he is probably a dead ringer for

Gordon Strachan build wise.

Yes I know its the championship but when Strachan played the Prem was pretty rugged.

Time will tell.

i thought in the video of the game vs uraguay he looked a neat and tidy player someone who could possibly do the job along side a ball winner

Under no pressure at all he almost plays the ball out of play twice. Once he moves the ball then the next time hes slide tackling WTF! Then there an opportunity where he collects the ball in the final third instead of turning forward he turn backwards just pointing three characteristics out - not good enough !

Who do you think we should be trying to sign JAL? Any suggestions to meet the criteria of footballer you are looking for?

George Weah was a truly great player that you only see a handful of in a decade(a good decade), this UAE lad(even if he's ok) will never be at that level(or even close to it), I'd bet my vinyl collection on it,

the club should just be focusing all its time on strengthening our weak areas, we don't need any more lightweight midfielders leaching of our salary budget, we need a leader in midfield.

He has no idea just come on here and blasts every single player signing and potential signing while offering nothing.

why is he not good enough? maybe we should have kept Danny Big @#/? and co! he certainly looks better than anyone else we have! & stop living in the past, bunch of neanderthals... we aren't anybody anymore, we have no pulling power... were rightly following suit of other championship clubs with the way were restructuring the club!!

*cue earful of abuse*

no i never said he would be at his level but at the level we are at why not give the lad a trail see if he has what it takes if not send him home simple really. Was just using it as an example

we can all speculate on various different players we'd personally like to see the club go for and all come up with a different name, but one thing that is fair to say we all agree on is that we need a solid box2box midfielder with leadership qualities that can slip right into the squad(our lowest priority should be lightweight foreign players with little or no experience of playing at a high level)

What happened to Spearing, or was this just made up nonsense that never had any substance.

If they're good enough in the first place then there would be no need whatsoever for a trial.

which i agree with completely but if he comes in on trial and is deemed good enough to do a job then he deserves a chance i'm not saying sign him or play him but surely there is no harm in giving the lad a chance? If he is good enough bring him in with someone like Spearing

Nelsen and Samba had trials no?

quite an extreme choice to use as an example though

It was indeed but off the top of my head i could not think of many others who came from a country with no pedigree i possibly could have used Samba Nelsen or Hoilett
