Rhodes: 110 goals in 200 appearances... Before you get carried away73 goals were in league one. I'd love to see Any f the names above at 20/21 at that standard.. They'd be banging them in. Every player above in my opinion was better than Jordan. He's a good a good finisher but he isn't world class... People need to get a grip... Comparing Rhodes to Garner is proper fickle!!! You'll hate him when he leaves. Lets be objective eh?

Talk about twisting the argument. I thought the original point was that Rhodes is a more natural finisher than some of those names listed, not necessarily a better striker. It's widely accepted that his overall play is still short of making him a top-level striker. Last season Rhodes was able to outscore Jansen in the same division, in a @#/? team devoid of Berkovic, Duff, Dunn, Gillespie et al. Jansen was a class act and would not have looked out of place playing on the continent, whereas Rhodes is more of an old-fashioned goal poacher.

We should have a look at him, has never looked out of place in the Swansea midfield and has championship experience out on loan. Available to buy and can't see him going for loads.

Not that i know anything about this player, but this ilk of players not quite good enough to get in PL teams, but young enough to be able to play 40+ games is ideal. Id be sniffing around the fringes of the Newcastle (Vuckic), Villa (Banan) Tottenham etc squads. Even if its 12 month loan deals.

How we can compare Rhodes to: Shearer, Sutton, McCarthy, Bellamy, Roque, Jansen, Yak is beyond me.

Shearer England's last prolific number 9 premier league all time leading goal scorer. Goal machine. Had everything! 559 games 283 goals, 30 goals in 63 appearances for England

Sutton: Class, played at the top his entire career. For a big man he had. Great touch and was so creative. Always amongst the goals. Won the uefa cup with Celtic and should've been capped for england ...411 games 151 goals

McCarthy: Champions league winner, played right across Europe at the highest level. Clinical finisher, blessed with bags of flair. Real crowd pleaser. 161 goals in 387 games, 31 in 79 for SA

Bellamy: goals always follow Bellamy along with a cult status.

Roque: champions league winner, played at Bayern for years, really calibre. Recently seen at Malaga banging them in..87 career goals, 26 in 92 caps for Paraguay

Jansen: Quality. Oozed class. Should've been at utd

Yak: goal machine 156 goals in in 375 games

Rhodes: 110 goals in 200 appearances... Before you get carried away73 goals were in league one. I'd love to see Any f the names above at 20/21 at that standard.. They'd be banging them in. Won the eufa cup with Celtic ? er, when was this then ?

Agree with the England thing, though his stupid attitude messed that up.

Garner had the benefit of having another striker alongside him most games where as Rhodes has had to play a lone striker's role in a lot of his games. Garner had a decent supply of service with Miller and Sellars where Rhodes has had to feed of scraps. IMO I think Garner would have struggled to score the number of goals that Rhodes got last season.

We would have been a much better team though.

Garner was as tough as old boots, Rhodes looks a bit of a softy in comparison.

Because hes CRAP !

You have become irritatingly negative. No harm giving him a trial there are a lot of people praising him who unlike you have actually seen him play.

  • Moderation Lead

Under no pressure at all he almost plays the ball out of play twice. Once he moves the ball then the next time hes slide tackling WTF! Then there an opportunity where he collects the ball in the final third instead of turning forward he turn backwards just pointing three characteristics out - not good enough !

Oh, so you know this from watching him how many times?? You're judging players based on YouTube footage like you're Dennis Wise!!!

Give the lad and everyone else new a chance before declaring that they're terrible.

Failing that, return to your dark room and listen to The Smiths on repeat.....

We have lots of hopefuls already and are losing serious cash each week. Any loan will cost us money in wages, housing, expenses etc etc, so for me when the requirement is better starters IE 1st 11 players and money is tight, you don't waste it. Yes he could be a gem, but we already have 45 pro's which is a big big group of players to concentrate on. I like Jal would rather we put all our energies into signing and spending money on a quality 1st teamer, every penny counts at Rovers by all accounts. Look after the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves, is a saying more should follow. Everything may well be miserable in a JAL world as you put it, but he has every right to post what he thinks as do you.

He may have a right to post it but I for one have had enough of reading his negative CRAP. He has no idea about the players on trial but immediately they are useless. He must think we are still a PL club. May soon be a candidate for ignore.

And what about if he impresses on the trial and is viewed good enough for the first team. You have just decided with out seeing him that he's not worth a trial if he comes in and is deemed good enough and we take him on loan with view to signing him is that not good finacial sense?

Indeed, and too many people think of Blackburn Rovers as the town, you need to think of it as a football club, I'm pretty sure most Rovers fans

who where born and bred in Leyland or Chorley would say that Preston has always been a more impressive town.

Preston is a dump hole

I believe I explained my thoughts on that topic in an earlier post.

If GB is going to put his money on the likes of Josh Lowe then don't think he's the man for Me

He's worked a long time with this Liowe and if he can't see that he's crap and very limited then says a lot of GB........

Interesting that soon as David Dunn and Williamson signed there new contracts they never play another game so far . Hope somebody in the medical team is held accountable ...

For my take Abdul-Rahman is a step above lcompared to Lowe ....jobs for the boys comes to mind ...think if your local it covers a lot of faults ..

Lowe will definately play because he is part of the core group of players who are willing to work hard and take on the ethos being driven by GB and the coaching staff...

The truth is that they're desperate to move lots out and get rid of the cliques and lazy uncaring culture amongst much of the squad...

After the conversation I had last night I don't think we will go up...far to many of them believe they're better than they are...will take 2 more windows to get rid and change that mentality.

Many of us realised it a while ago.

I have to hand it to you. That was a masterclass in not actually following what the discussion was about.
