im expecting a bottom half finish with bowyer gone by Christmas and some of you saying he should be given a full season just because he 'loves the club', we cant base bowyer credentials as the chosen one on a few decent results and some bad ones, I still think this appointment is a poor, cheap one and will come back to bite rovers on the arse. Also taking into account some mediocre signings, I said the same thing of berg and I was hammered for it. I know some of you will lambast me for this post but this is the way I see it and only time will tell.

I really can't see how anyone would expect anymore than mid table mediocrity to be honest. We've spent bugger all, we have a manager making his full debut, if rumour is to be believed we have no scouting network, our finance manager is working her notice (possibly having seen the writing on the wall), our boardroom is like a creche and lacking in numbers and those left have a track record of failure. Those expecting promotion are crazy. Mid table mediocrity although unspectacular would be steady improvement. Although preseason performances have been rubbish I really don't see how any better was expected by anyone.

Rovers scouts were in attendance AGAIN in Bulgaria today watching the attacking Midfeilder Todor Nedelev in his clubs 2-1 win over

He got both goals again ....

If you remember he was the main man in a 5-0 win as he came on second half scored 2,got tripped for a pen and hit woodwork! In the last game.....

player with a lot of pace and goals in the locker..hope GB and company bring him over for a trial....Barbatov rates him highly ....£500k

Like all of us you are entitled to your opinion. Bowyer may well be a cheap or at least the cheapish option available to the club. But when money is tight and wage bill needs trimming as fast as can. The cheap option has to be the best option. As things stand at the moment, going out a splashing the cash on managers, players are gone.

Twice Bowyer came in and stablised the ship, so as a cheap option, he deserves a crack at the job. I think Rovers will have a better season than last season. I do not think we will be fighting a relegation battle. The reality is that the championship is a very unpredictable league - I think Rovers will be ok.

One interesting thing said was that Dann is a fantastic pro and constantly galvanises training and plugs the training regime to the other lads..

I was umm-ing and ahh-ing last year about getting an s/t before i decided not to. I thought 'Venky's are a disgrace, kean is pure scum, agents are worse, and don't get me started on Aggers' , then i thought 'but i love Rovers' . What swung it for me and the missing thousands though was the thought of a 'sideways, backwards player that plays in triangles'. I even scrawled it on the renewal pack when i sent it back ripped in two.

I think you're spot on, it's gonna be a struggle and Bowyer will inevitably carry the can.

Comparing the Charlatan Steve Kean to GB is tantamount to blue and white treason. Gary may have the odds stacked against him, but he knows the players, club and fans - if he can keep up some of the results from last season with a bit more consistency - we could be a suprise.

We had about 10 free lance scouts around the world couple of years ago, none of them will do anything for the club again after the club shat on the lot of them and told them they weren't needed as the club was going down "a different route".
