We are not Real either. Not saying Merida is the answer but very pleased Rovers are doing hard work to identify the player needed most. CM with creativity good lift the whole starting eleven big time.

Until he gets kicked from pillar to post? ;)

Bannan is a tiday little player... A name i mentioned some months ago to my mates and would suit this league Merida, don't be fooled by the Arsenal development etc... No one wants him for a reason. Hopefully I'm very wrong.

This is all well and good, but I thought a few sources have said the trialists have been sent home? Kamy has said his info was from yesterday morning and Nicko says he's been rejected. Doesnt seem much point in getting carried away with this. His agent has a complete different agenda to anyone else. Those tweets could be a very blatant sales pitch. I mean, it took some on here about 2 minutes to work out who it was. A good way to get his clients name in to the public eye again? lets be honest, he is hardly pulling up trees in Brazil. And I'm amazed that some people seem to know so much about him. I wonder how many people could even tell me what his preferred foot is. I'm not saying he's a dead loss by any means. I'm just surprised that he is held in high regard when he hasn't been strutting his stuff in a league watched by many in the uk. I'm happy to be shown otherwise of course.

The same guy is now hinting of a move for Spearing also!

What's the Finnish for 'sarcasm'? Presumably it doesn't exist?

Tata swollen testy. No loss. If he learns to head the ball and not be such a softy he might make a low end PL center half at best. Since he's been here he's always thought he was better than us. Well he isn't.

My brother is a big Villains fan and writes for one of the bigger Villa forums. He has always said that Bannan is a terrific passer of the ball. But he always attempts the Hollywood pass. But imo this will change with experience. And maybe his party lifestyle will too. Who knows. But he's got the raw essentials to be a success. At this point in time that's enough for me.

Guest Norbert

I'd like Bannan if the drinking and partying is just a silly rumour. If he is like some sort of Robbie Williams (when he was fat and young) type thinking he's all that then I'm not sure. We've all seen what can happen with that Johnson who came through Man City's ranks.

And I can't believe people believed my 1 liner about Xabi Alonso.

Can´t believe he still wears the captain arm band.

It's hard to think of many Rovers players with less ability than him and Lowe. They make me want to peel my skin off my flesh.

Got a good feeling about this trialist Cameroon defender. Sad if he won´t get a deal because can´t get rid of Dann/Givet or both. Never heard him before but same went with Samba. Lowe will always be Kean´s boy for me. Can do nothing right but always picked.

Still a bit to work to do, preferably before Derby away.

We need a central midfielder and a left back quite blatantly, and we will need a forward, maybe on loan if Campbell's injury is serious.

Songo'o would replace Givet but Dann would also need replacing; Hanley and Kilgallon could be first team but we cant be relying on an untried rookie like Songo'o too much. Kilgallon is injury prone too, so we would need someone in, albeit cheaper.

I see our attempts to offload most of the crap has failed. Yes, one or two may go on deadline day to desperate teams, but I doubt Orr, Bruno, Rosado, Jorge, Formica, Pedersen, Etuhu, Robinson, Slew etc will be anywhere but at Ewood.

Christ man, judge, Rochina, Bannan and Givet in the same side.. your nuts.

Hard going on ol'Lowe there mate, a kid thrust into that meat grinder of a team surrounded by players who don't give a monkeys ass beyond pay-packets would turn even great players into planks.

Just look at us now, for so so many years after Jack we managed to drag a kid or two through the ranks, brought in the lost and fixed them (normally for them to leave and fail), brought in some true leaders of men (friedel, Nelson, Tugay, Salgado...) and had teams with some level of grit and determination even when they lacked the skill.

I am hoping GB will help on that front but its down to the owners to get the infrastructure above right.. and to be frank we are more likely to find pixies living in Sunnyhurst Woods.

The owners are probably saying to Bowyer "get Etuhu, Formica, Givet and a couple others off the books and we'll back you in your search for a decent central midfielder". Quite clearly these players won't get the same deal elsewhere as they are getting here so they're digging their heels in (perhaps not Formica, but you get the point).

Desperately need somebody in the middle of the park and until we bring this person in then I don't think we'll be winning any midfield battles. In all likelihood Lowe or Marrow will have to start in one of the berths as I can't see us bringing in two new players, and quite clearly, Williamson and Dunn will be lucky to make 50% of the matches this season. If we have to start Lowe AND Marrow then God help us.
