Jamesw1982 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Lambert did leave him on bench like Bent. Big names but not in favour. But his wages must be much too much. misses first 3/4 weeks of season injured so wont be him Magaye Gueye < is 1 of only 3 or 4 i can think it could possibly be
SoldierMo Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I still think its albroghton after the Bannan deal fell thorugh he must of been one of the names passed between the clubs in conversation
blueboy3333 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Trying to bring a touch of reality back into this thread before some you young lads start to wet yourselves over anyone with two legs that signs for Rovers. Why, thank you! It's a long, long time since i've been called young, probably around the same time as you were last called interesting. Anyway, i'm off to listen to some Leonard Cohen now to cheer myself up. It's what i do after reading your posts. Keep smiling grumps.
AJW Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Over all very happy with the type of players signed by GB....Left back sorted after a few years .. Crainy good exciting player ... Evans Junior ok but then anything is better then you know who... Regarding the winger all ill say is hope the selling club turn us down !...IMHO Unleaded is a knowledgable as they come .... if he thinks he's crap ...... he is crap
Jamesw1982 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 he never said he was crap maybe he thinks he wont do enough for us?
Backroom Tom Posted August 1, 2013 Backroom Posted August 1, 2013 Or he has an attitude problem Doesn't Mcclean have issues in that regard
Jamesw1982 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 yes why does everything pointto McLean and if it is id be happy with him tbh ............
patrickvalery Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 N'Zogbia just doesnt seem a Bowyeresque signing to me. Its not only extremely optimistic, but just a bad fit. Although I will say this much, the squad now needs two things. Cut the cancerous deadwood adrift and bring in one real piece of quality. If it was me then id sooner have signed a winger with promise and a cm with genuine here and now quality AND experience. Someone who could lead the young lads but also still play a bit. The side still needs a leader imo.
Jamesw1982 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 it would be interesting to see how people would set up the team this season now and who would be captain and leader. I understand what u mean tho P.V
watford-rover Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 didnt nicko say it would be in the paper?? i love a good old fashioned 11 o'clocker
donnermeat Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 He's into the IRA or something like that, good player though. A winger in the old fashioned mould whenever I've seen him, I think it would definitely be worth a loan.
patrickvalery Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Considering who we have at our disposal now I really don't think 442 suits us too well. But we still have the same issue we had last season. Our best player and most valuable commodity plays best with a partner upfront. That then dictates the rest if the side. Best is too good and too expensive not to play and now we have an abundance of midfield destroyers. When you look at it in those terms the individual pieces juat don't seem to fit. I'll be really interested to see how GB sets thr side up in the next few weeks. A radical tactical change seems unlikely. Preseason is about two things. Building fitness and implementation of the tactical set up you want to use. For that reason I can't see us changing our shape anytime soon.
Butty Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 could it possibly be the enigma Peter Odemwingie? West brom obviouslly getting rid and maybe worth a cheeky punt? I doubt it mate as I saw on sky sports news earlier that Cardiff were interested in buying him.
JAL Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 What's striking is that Olsson is the only one we have been able to shift and bring in a fee forWhy has it been classed as undisclosed.
hollowsr Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Why has it been classed as undisclosed. because 90% of transfers are classed as that now??
chaddyrovers Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Target confirmed as McClean from sunderland He would be very good player for us. hope we can get him. with the 2 signings in today and another one in Evans very close to signing, we must be getting rid of a lot of the deadwood at Rovers.
SoldierMo Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Just had it confirmed to me its McClean would be a brill signing
patrickvalery Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Target confirmed as McLean from sunderland Can't see it.
roverslee Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Target confirmed as McLean from sunderland thought he was of to celtic
JAL Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 because 90% of transfers are classed as that now??Why though hide full disclosure. Do funds go elsewhere, is it a tax fiddle, or is it something else.
AJW Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Mclean was hoping to stay in PL and there was 1 or 2 suitors , but whatever reason they never followed it up ... Rovers must of retained an interest
Ricky Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Now that would be a good loan signing on my opinion.
