Majiball Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 No mate. Centre back by trade but most of his appearances have been at right back. Bit like Kolo Toure when he started out at Arsenal, Richards at City, Jones / Smalling at Utd, etc. On the bench today vs Man Utd but do think Liverpool are well stock at the back. Cissokho / Enrique at left back, Johnson at right back & Skrtel, Agger and 2 new signings expected (Sakho & Ilori) at centre back. Must be worth a cheeky bid. Surprisingly he made 7 apps last season (wiki). Have Pool not signing Ilori (good signing), you never know once the window closes he might be willing on a jan loan but I'd be surprised if he wanted to come here.

rhodie Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I think Spurr can also play at C.B, if so move him across and bring Henley back into the squad as F.B.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 1, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted September 1, 2013 I think Spurr has been a great signing as a full back. I'd be loathe to move him from there!
G Somerset Rover Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hudson's been dropped by Cardiff. Would be absolutely perfect on loan if we could do it.
Neal Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hudson's been dropped by Cardiff. Would be absolutely perfect on loan if we could do it. Perfect indeed. Great shout.
EWOODACE1 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 i get the feeling cairney would like to make his loan permanent judging by some of his retweets. he reminds me of carrick with the way he plays. always looks around for a pass when the ball is coming to him. this lad would be a massive signing for us. still suprised hull where willing to let him go
saxo1man30 Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 i do like spurr and he is a PROPER full back, but you can see he has limitations, he doesn`t have any tricks to beat a man going forward, very similar to emerton to me..

Spurr will be our new left sided John Curtis(ever present and 100% reliable, for as long as where in this league) i get the feeling cairney would like to make his loan permanent judging by some of his retweets. he reminds me of carrick with the way he plays. always looks around for a pass when the ball is coming to him. this lad would be a massive signing for us. still suprised hull where willing to let him go obviously we are a better all around club than Hull, but given the choice i'm sure playing in the prem would take priority everytime
McClarky Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Can't see how we can think about bringing in a cb unless someone is leaving. We have brought in 2 already to back up the 2 who played yesterday.
John Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 @PeopleSport: What next for Spurs' top kid Tom Carroll? We hear he could join QPR on loan
roverslee Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 @PeopleSport: What next for Spurs' top kid Tom Carroll? We hear he could join QPR on loan he going to ajax on loan for the season as part of the signing they just got from them eriksen i think his name was

Gets you close to the 'mythical' £10m ! They would be silly not to try.

rovers11 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Apparently prem striker coming in on loan. Also a defender coming in on loan. Dann and Best to leave tomorrow?
roverslee Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 defender to replace givet i think, cant see dann leaving nobody willing to pay the price venkys want
sharpysharps Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 if it is Ameobi then I'm seriously worried about Rhodes going in the opposite direction. Even if Rhodes isn't going, that's a pretty darn awful striker to bring in.
rovers11 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 We already have Dann, Hanley, kilgallon, and songo - if we are bringing in another then one must be on their way. Also, Kilgallon hasn't come here to sit on the bench and was in anticipation of Dann leaving. Dann wants out, is on high wages, and could command a decent transfer fee so would make sense for him to move. Shola ameobi is apparently the loan striker.
Mercer Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Mythical is a good way to describe your thinking sometimes Hey, Bruce has already said Hull want a striker, have already enquired about JR, knows we like Cairney and has made impression, what do you think he is likely to try and do ?
rovers11 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Kamy says it might be ameobi. Nicko says he's not the one he's heard about. My guess would be Connor Wickham.
Atomicrover Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hey, Bruce has alreadfy said Hull want a striker, have already enquired about JR, knows we like Cairney and has made impression, what would you do ? Tell him to go swivel. Simples!

imy9 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Good target man for the championship. His one season in the division he scored 10 goals in 18 apps.
RevidgeBlue Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Shola Ameobi on loan Ameobi's terrible. Why would we want him? Even as a replacement for Best.
Mercer Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 You never give up do you? Lol. Take it Hull are the subject of your other bet! No they aren't. If you were Bruce, however, you would try and play that hand with Cairney in as an ace. Think tomorrow will be bedlam all round not least at Ewood.
