saxo1man30 Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 Anyone know if Ian evatt trained with us today? I know it said in the LET he had been invited to train with us it`ll only be running and general fitness training without a ball at the moment for about 2 weeks, not sure if a trialist would join in with that or not.
Brfcrule1 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I have only posted what Bowyer has said in past couple of weeks to Radio Lancs and the Lancs Telegraph. plus also look at Chris Flanagan twitter page. The Lancs Telegraph Rovers reporter. Thanks Chaddy will keep an eye on Chris Flanagan's twitter page. Chaddy I shall be very happy to go out for a pint with you when I am finally settled in Blackburn during the new season. Keep posting anything you hear & any links it keeps us all in the loop.

After the fitness standards of the last couple of seasons, I would think that running around and general fitness should be no1 priority.
Hekla Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Says in the Mirror that we are still in the hunt for Luke Murphy from Crewe. Wolves have had £1m bid accepted. Exactly the type of player we should be targeting.

tugayislegend Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 http://hereisthecity.com/2013/03/22/ld-why-aston-villa-should-pay-crewe-anything-for-luke-murphy/ Read this article - seems like Luke Murphy is a very decent player, according to article he is 6 Ft 2", Powerhouse midfielder who tackles and creates chances.
Hekla Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Max Clayton is also a very good player from Crewe, would be worth looking at him too.

Lad has decisions to make, big money at wolves in league 1 or less at rovers in champ, I guess that depends on what type of person he is... If for a second he chose the big pay day over higher standard, then he probs isn't the type of player Bowyer wants and can happily go Wolves instead. I hope he isn't a money grabber, because hes a cracking player and it would be a shame to see his potential wasted!

Bit harsh, if I were a player signing a 4 year contract, I'd be thinking about where the club would be in 2/3 years time. Unfortunately, if I had to bet my own money, I'd wager Wolves have overtaken us by then.

Dunn did say a while back that last pre season was the worst he'd ever known in terms of preperation etc, no suprise there. This time it will be 100% better i would think so it's up to the players now to step up to the plate !

chaddyrovers Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 It's difficult to expect anything in this league. So many clubs might feel they have a right to challenge the top 6 - Birmingham, Blackpool, Bolton, Brighton, Derby, Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Notts Forest, QPR, Reading, Watford, Wigan... We don't have a divine right to finish above any of those. You are right there LeChuck. any team can beat nyone in this league Still waiting to see when we are going to offload some of the overpaid dross at the club. IIRC there was an article going around last season (might have been Cryer at the LT) that said that revenue coming into the club was barely covering the wages of Rhodes, Murphy and Etuhu. I know we have sent some of the loan players back but how much of an impact that has had in terms of a reduction in our wage bill is questionable considering a lot of the time a parent club covers some of the wages of the loan player. Also keep in mind that even though we have signed a few free transfers their wages won't be free, they will be added to the wage bill. So where is the offloading? Who are we going to see sold? have a little patience RVR. I'm sure that Bowyer and Rovers will be selling/getting rid of some players. Bowyer said to the Rovers fans forum meeting this week that they will outgoings and incomings. The transfer window still has over 2 months to go yet Thanks Chaddy will keep an eye on Chris Flanagan's twitter page. Exactly the type of player we need in midfield. only seen him a couple of times on TV. seems the type of player that Bowyer would like to add to the squad. biggest problem is wage bill and players in squad
Muddboy Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 All this talk of new players is fine. But GB needs to ship some out – URGENTLY! How we can go into the season with 52 players (a stat mentioned on Radio Lancs a few nights ago) is astonishing. I'm not convinced that anyone at Ewood has the understanding to deal with the financial fair play regs properly and it wouldn't suprise me if this comes back to bite us on the arse. Do we know whether we're taking any steps to meet the requirements? If we have to pay people off, get on with it. Venky's created this horrific squad problem by dishing out ridiculous contracts willy-nilly so they're going to have to foot the bill for fixing it.
Backroom Tom Posted June 27, 2013 Backroom Posted June 27, 2013 Are we sure he's not a FIFA player: On April 7th, 2013, Murphy scored the first goal, a finesse shot from the edge of the box, in the Football League Trophy final against Southend United, which Crewe went on to win 2-0.
The Rover of Finland Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Stoke are in talks with Dutch International left back from PSV. We are stuck with Olsson.
chaddyrovers Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Palace agree a fee with Peterbrough for their striker Gayle http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/130627/exclusive-%E2%80%93-crystal-palace-agree-fee-peterborough-striker-dwight-gayle-200535 And Cardiff City have confirmed they have reached an agreement to sign FC Copenhagen striker Andreas Cornelius http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8795193/Transfer-news-Cardiff-poised-to-sign-Andreas-Cornelius-from-FC-Copenhagen Good news for Rovers tho. more chance of keeping Rhodes now. thought them two clubs would be very interest in Rhodes. Stoke are closing on Erik Pieters now. look they aren't going to sign Olsson. Maybe Norwich and West Ham will come in for him
Backroom Tom Posted June 27, 2013 Backroom Posted June 27, 2013 Strong rumours that Goodwillie is going back to Dundee tomorrow but he has said don't beleive what you read I think he may be off soon though which will probably see Gallagher return
roversfan99 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Really don't want Gallagher back, if we bring in another attacking player I'd like someone with a bit of pace.

Venky's created this horrific squad problem by dishing out ridiculous contracts willy-nilly so they're going to have to foot the bill for fixing it. Though I agree we need to reduce the number of players on the staff - there is one important aspect of the new financial fair play regulations which mean we have this season to get promoted or then vastly reduce our wage bill. Also not certain what they will make of losses we made last season and the next - as the losses appear for a season not existing debt :- "Sanctions Failure to stay within the defined limits will lead to the imposition of sanctions. However, there will be no sanctions implemented during the first two seasons (2012/13 and 2013/14) in order to give clubs a sensible period of transition."
chaddyrovers Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Really don't want Gallagher back, if we bring in another attacking player I'd like someone with a bit of pace. don't a problem with Gallagher coming in as a back up to Taylor/King/Judge. KIng has got pace on the wing. But if we need another pacey winger when not bid for Bristol City Adomah? supposedly on his way to Wigan according to Nixon. think Fee is 1 million pounds.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 According to David Dunn we have 52 players to chose from. Do we really need to add another average Joe in Gallagher? We have three score and ten average or untested back up/squad players, lets sign some first XI improvements so we can at least make some half fisted attempt at getting out of this league
JAL Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 don't a problem with Gallagher coming in as a back up to Taylor/King/Judge. KIng has got pace on the wing. Sounds like you want to keep Rovers in the championship.
roverstdt Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Adomah would be a great signing. I love how much of a WUM Jal is haha. We don't need Gallagher we have already 18 players we can do without with in Robbo, Orr, Ribiero, Givet, Martin+Marcuss O, Formica, Goodwillie, Henrique, Jorge, Edinho, Gomes, Murphy, Rosado, Pedersen, Slew, and even maybe Etuhu.
