Backroom Tom Posted July 1, 2013 Backroom Posted July 1, 2013 Campbell didnt impress too much in his spell but is proven at this level and will score goals given the chance, no issue with that signing

tomphil Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Same Nixon who said Murphy and Formica were gone last night? I'm actually pleased that we are now running like a championship club we should cut our cloth accordingly. That was floating about on twitter a while before it popped up on his timeline thankyou.
The Rover of Finland Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Didn't Campbell go elsewhere already? Or was it Frasier?
ABBEY Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Sorry but some names are funny .. Samba Sow I giggle when I see it. Same Nixon who said Murphy and Formica were gone last night? I'm actually pleased that we are now running like a championship club we should cut our cloth accordingly. Same one who said 50 million and keans a gem .
imy9 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Rovers are close to signing Kiko a left back who Is currently staring in Turkey at the under 20s world cup...... And yes he's from Portugal......... Surprised no one has commented on this considering the quality of info Unleaded has provided. May watch the u20 matches now. That was floating about on twitter a while before it popped up on his timeline thankyou. How about Campbell and Kilgallon? He has plenty of good info, but clearly will get things wrong too.

May watch the u20 matches now.was thinking the same few hours ago. Is here anyone ever seen him in action? Kilgallon would be nice to have on bench as he can play on left and centre defence.
imy9 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Sorry but some names are funny .. Samba Sow I giggle when I see it. Same one who said 50 million and keans a gem . I recall Kamy saying we would spend over 25 million too, 50 million was his guess based on players we were looking at. Kean being a gem was his opinion too, we have all made dodgy predictionshttp://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francisco_Manuel_Geraldo_Rosa
1864roverite Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Last times Leeds did us over for a midfielder was the lad Jones. He was a roaring success for them wasn't he ? Leeds are NOT bigger than Rovers, they may have more fans but off the pitch they are just as badly run.
G Somerset Rover Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Really not loving the DJ Campbell deal. He and Rhodes together was painful to watch. They do not compliment each others game at all. And then we still have Best. You get the feeling that there is going to be two very upset strikers come mid-August.

Might just be what's been upsetting Rhodes, if indeed he has been upset on his £35k per wk.
Al Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Dj Campbell is a done deal from months ago. No getting out of it unfortunatly. Killgallon is true also. Nixon needs to be careful, people may get used to his stories coming true! I hope you are wrong. He adds absolutely nothing to the cause.
blueboy3333 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Kamy on twitter saying Kilgallon 'reportedly' at Brockhall, Dann interesting Soton, Fulham perhaps showing an interset in Rhodes and DJ a pre-arranged done deal. What i can't understand is if Kilgallon and Dunne are targets then why were L Murphy's wages a problem? Surely they'd both command, and are currently on, bigger wages than L Murphy at Leeds. Perhaps Murphy wasn't guaranteed first team football at Ewood. IMO, it's morons like you who have spoiled this MB. TBH, it feels like it's no longer worth bothering with. Let's take a rain check at the end of the month and see where we are. i shouldn't really but seen as it's you:- Strange that, it's not me being slagged on twitter by another person you've annoyed today on here with your self-righteous doomsday b*ll*x and tedious ITK innuendo. And stop justifying your 'facts' by referring to people giving you 'titbits of info' up and down the country through 'your line of work'. That isn't proof, anyone can say that, it's probably not even true. A bit like your 'Best will never sign', 24hrs before he did. In summary, bore off.

Both are free agents - so that is £1m saved straight away. Depending on the interest in them - we may also be able to keep within our new lower wage structure.
Guest Norbert Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Kilgallon would be pretty good, Dunne I'm not sure about and Campbell likewise. However, DJ may be better if we have a better midfield. And we now have at least one proper winger in Taylor. That may suit him a bit better than a midfield of a balding lazybones, a Norweigan chugger, an energetic battler with little passing ability and a holding midfielder. As for Rhodes, hopefully if he does go, we can get shedloads for him, and the same for Dann who other teams still rate.
Oklahoma Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Rovers are close to signing Kiko a left back who Is currently staring in Turkey at the under 20s world cup...... And yes he's from Portugal......... If only Rovers were able to buy Bruma... Anyway, other future failure for Rovers...
West Yorks Rover Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I bet we've got at least 20 players on more wages than Leeds are paying Murphy.
AJW Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 It was disapointing missing out on Murphy , but we wont be the only club to miss out on a target its happened before and it'll happen again , but if we are in the market for a box-to-box midfielder what about Jay Spearing ?

chaddyrovers Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Danny Murphy has just been released. One ray of light at least. God knows what it cost to get him off the books though. Best news of the day that Danny Murphy has gone. pleased Formica has gone almost aswell Rovers are close to signing Kiko a left back who Is currently staring in Turkey at the under 20s world cup...... And yes he's from Portugal......... is this Bowyer signing? has he been scouting at the Under 20's??? quite surely that Rovers would have scouts over there watching the under 20's world cup. Linked with some other bloke now. Samba Sow. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8800724/ Sow is a Defensive midfielder who is hard working, strong and can tackle. not a midfielder who can play a killer pass tho. IMO, it's morons like you who have spoiled this MB. TBH, it feels like it's no longer worth bothering with. Let's take a rain check at the end of the month and see where we are. Mercerman, think you need to chill out abit. Everyone is entitled to their views. Perhaps Murphy wasn't guaranteed first team football at Ewood. Killgallon would be good signing for this league. He can play Centre Back or Left Back. I see Dunne as Dann replacement if he leaves would I think is likely now. If we can get around 4 Million pounds then sell. Think Martin Olsson will be sold aswell. probably to WHU or Norwich for around 2.5 to 3 million pounds Can't see Fulham offering enough money to sign Rhodes. DJ Campbell signing unsure on but is proven at this level tho. might suit us now if Bowyer adopt a more attacking passing style of football. Pleased that Rovers didn't offer to pay L.Murphy wages more than what they thought he want worth. Then LM played a clever game tbh. didn't want to sign for us or Wolves. think he thought VIlla were coming in for him. But Good luck to him at Leeds. Rovers seems to have a proper wage budget in place now and not willing to spend silly money on players wages. Players I would be looking are Lewis McGugan available on a free, Antonio from Sheff Wednesday as a pacey winger.
Stuart Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/football-league/27383-blackburn-look-to-sign-duo.php That's clever that. A Sports shop setting up an Internet news site. Now they just have to get the right kind of scoops and they have instant control over the site advertising. I see it more that we are having to cut our cloth due to being skint rather than any kind of grand plan.Surprised that Leeds were able to afford him, tbh. Good old player power maybe.

Did Luke Murphy even meet Bowyer for talks??? don't think he did according to what Chris Flanagan said on twitter this morning.
