I can agree with you on that. To be honest, I'm not a fan of Yorkshire as a whole, despite my dad's side of the family being from the east coast/North East England.

So, DJ and Kilgallon probably on their way to Rovers. I think that's a very good couple of signings.

DJ didn't impress when he came on loan last season but he is proven at this level and with the right service will score goals. Our midfield simply didn't create any chances for our strikers last season which makes it even more remarkable Rhodes scored so many goals.

There's no doubt that while Campbell disappointed for us he has been successful at this level.

My main problem with signing him is he's not the type we need to partner Rhodes.

To me we need a more physical type who can hold the ball up and win it in the air.

Portugal, plays for Vitoria Setubal. Seems to be described elsewhere as a wide midfielder/winger too.

I'd see him as a back up to Rhodes. Surely has to be Best and Rhodes as the top 2. Campbell coming off the bench.

And, of course, it's a long old season so Rhodes will most likely pick up an injury at some point.

Don't know but he tweeted something in Spanish about Zaragoza yesterday.

Probably still weighing up his 'options' !

He wrote: " My loanperiod with Zaragoza finished yesterday. I would thank everyone for the love I've received and wish you/them good luck.

Well this is an interesting subnote on the official page:

• Meanwhile, contrary to reports in today's local newspaper, Rovers would like to make it clear that the club did not miss out on the signing of Crewe midfielder Luke Murphy by £2,000 per month. The personal terms agreed with the player were substantially more than the figure quoted.

Certainly is a strange thing to appear on the official site, somebody going "rogue" again?

Word is Derek Shaw has a personal beef with Mercerman and wanted to prove him wrong

Only messing in reality I have no idea what it even means, do we read it as Rovers offered him substantially more or that Leeds did?

One way makes us look willing to pay over the odds the other just a bit needy

Why say that though Tom. Seems odd that.

Signifies to me that maybe there is some truth in these sale/takeover rumours.

The last thing you want when negotiating a price is the buyer seeing that you are cash strapped and then playing hardball.

The only other logical reason is to appease the fans, and they have never given a crap about that for 2 years now so can't see anything would have changed on that front.

I might be being thick but do they mean: a) Leeds offered a lot more than £2k more a month than Rovers or B) Rovers offered more than the figure quoted(even though there wasn't a figure in the LT). very odd.

Anway Goodwillies gone back to DU till January

Is Hossam Ghaly centre mid? I remember him vaguely playing for Tottenham. I'd imagine Hull would be facourites with their Egyptian owners/players.

Things seem to be picking up on the ins and outs. So far things seem very sensible and level headed, though our midfield is still a bit iffy.

I think its an attempt to say we offers him more but that makes no sense as no deal was agreed surely?
