only seen him on the Footy League Show but he seems a very talented attacking mid.

I saw Mellis against Leicester for Barnsley towards end of last season, he was superb in first half hour-45mins but then disappeared after half time before being taken off, from listening to some Barnsley fans around me thats not an uncommon occurrence for him. Also think he is best in free role which is obviously where we have a few players already in Dunn and Rochina. Also depends on how Bowyer wants to play, in reserves and youth he heavily favoured 4-3-3, Mellis could possibly work on left of front 3 but not sure how much use he is tracking back

Aneke is a lad from Arsenal, not seen him play to best of my knowledge but could be worth a punt on loan, a step up for him which I'm sure Arsenal would be happy with

Talking of Arsenal players ..what happened to Frimpong? Wasnt he out of contract this summer

I can't find anywhere saying he signed a new contract but he is on Arsenal's retained list so looks like he is staying there. He injured his knee in last game of the season on loan at Fulham, think if he was on a free a few Premiership clubs would be in for him

bowyer was expecting few new signings before saturday's first training match.

Latesr from cryer on twitter, must be still in the loop:-

Lots of irons in the fire at Rovers apparently. Richard Dunne and Kilgallon certainly not live targets - DJ Campbell? Not sure

I knew it was some sort of drama that he was involved in.

Wasn't it him who threw his jersey on the ground as he was subbed, and that enraged the crowd so much that they actually made 'Arry change his mind regarding subbing him in another game?

I think the gist of it was that he was sent out on loan after his first indescretion, when he returned to Spurs, Harry was now manager and he was

about to bring him on as sub, but the crowd reaction was so nasty towards him that Harry decided against it.

I think thats how it went.

Cryer states that kilgallon not a live target, Nixon states it's a done deal and he's having a medical in the morning.

Who's right and who's wrong.

If he's not a live target, isn't a medical a bit of a waste? Perhaps an autopsy would be more useful?

I think Nixon is right on this one.

He can be. Which is why I don't dismiss his information all the time. It's a bit of a lottery between made up nonsense and some transfer news that he manages to hear first.

Nixon is a good journalist. He obviously doesn't get everything right but things change very quickly in football which is why it's difficult to be 100% spot on all the time.

Nixon is a hack, and a bloody bad hack at that...

Looking at Bolton forums a few of them reckon they are getting Rhodes.

If he goes to the Premiership fair enough, if he goes to Bolton I hope his life is made a living hell when he revisits Ewood

Andy Keogh expects to move to Rovers in next few weeks. He's been/currently in Vegas so could be a week or so away. (From the man himself). Can't say I've ever noticed him when he's played. Any thoughts?

He's been bang average for absolutely ages now. Really hope this is wide of the mark. A striker who never scores.

If take the latter player referred to in that article. Always rated Matt Mills, maybe he just needs a change of scenery to kick start his career again.

Keogh works hard but is hardly prolific. I assume he'd just be back up. If we sign him and DJ Campbell then you'd think Best would be off considering he's on a reported 33K a week.
