Nixon is a good journalist. He obviously doesn't get everything right but things change very quickly in football which is why it's difficult to be 100% spot on all the time.

Must of been posted before but this Sunderland fan doesn't think Nixon is all that. (from 2011)

Rounds Alan Jerome Nixon up pretty well. He's a third rate sports journalist who agents use to announce their clients fancy a move. Occaisionally he may be right, but about 80% of it is made up and has ulterior motivation.

That said, I hope Keogh is not coming. He is pretty poor.

Where did you hear Keogh from?

Would be good, Bolton's player of the season whilst on loan, can't see us paying £3m though even if they allow installments.

Unless we get good money for Dann,Ollsen etc,

Course we may not even be after him. could be on big wages.

They've just got £5m for Shelvey so im sure they'll be looking at £3 for Spearing.

Shelvey's gone to a pretty much top half prem team and Spearing is going to the Championship.

3 million is a lot of money for a Championship team to spend. Chris Wood only cost 1.

I'd take him here but not for 3 million.

Keogh I would stay well away from.

Just been looking at a couple of Bolton forums, plenty of them still think they are getting Rhodes, mainly because they seem to believe

what Nixon has been saying on twitter.

In fact they seem to place great store in Nixon for some reason.

I agree don't get the keogh one at all.

Same reason the majority of this forum did a few years back, he had some good contacts then here and has some at Bolton now, its a win win situation for them.

Someone at Bolton clearly wanted the word to get out in the hope he fancies it enough to make it happen I think

He's got them eating out of his paws like he used to on here and if he's close to all things Bolton these days then he's probably got a few things right. All he seems to do is stir things up towards Rovers these days, wonder why......oh an he's not reet popular over Burnley way either.

Keogh is a workhorse forward shipped out on to the wing because he doesn't score. Hasn't done anything of note for years. Very poor.

Agreed.

As for Spearing, see Thenos post a couple of days ago. Overrated because of the team he's been at, rather than his own ability.

Yeah, Sure you're right there Tom, I think they're going to be dissappointed though.

No way will he be allowed to go to that lot, it would be the end for many supporters I feel.

I get that whole argument believe me, Welbeck being just one of many examples and probably the most apt, but Spearing is good imo. Certainly for a Championship side.

Baz, he's just spent the season with Bolton who have had a very good second half to the season. He's also been their best player this season. He's not really living off his Liverpool reputation, he's showed that he can perform at this level.

I'll agree to disagree Ricky. Happy to be proven wrong if we do get him.

Saw Bolton a few times last season too, and got to say they were awful, i have no idea how they managed to win so many games towards the end of the season, but perhaps the POTY wasnt a particularly high standard? Take Rhodes out of our equation, who would have won it then?
