I've just seen Jay McEverley in Ewood McDonalds.

Don't be like that OJ. Every man should have the right to earn a living. And I'm told he came within a whisker of claiming employee of the month in June. Apparently McDonald's hold him in high regard. Definately one for the future.

Duggie's still around - is Bowyer going to sign him too ? Seems like we're offloading a load of squad players and replacing them with more squad players. We need players who are going to make a difference, and that means not cluttering up the wage bill with no-hopers and spending money on some genuine quality.

Plus Luke Murphy was an ex player Phillips had worked with. Therefore they are punting for players they have worked with previously.

Eastwood - previously worked with our goalkeeping coach

Taylor, Judge, Marrow - previously worked with Bowyer

Luke Murphy - previously worked with Phillips

DJ the only exception.

Not wanting to be negative as I don't know much if anything about the players we are signing but I am worried that the pool we are picking from seems to be limited to people the coaching staff already know. This suggests that we are not doing any scouting. For me, if you are signing lower division players you need to get your scouting right as there are loads of players who would be good enough given the opportunity. If we don't have a proper scouting network we aren't likely to get the best players available. Does anyone know whether we have a proper scouting netwrork, or is that a daft question nowadays?

When did Taylor work with bowyer? And does Kilgallon fit in to the summery if your including Marrow whos having a fitness test you have to include kilgallon.

DJ and Kilgalon are good signings. Marrow is a strange one. Surely just a cheap squad player. Spearing would be an excellent addition if we could get him.

Spearing and hopefully Dave Jones in the midfield would be excellent.

Really disappointed with this signing. He was sh1te last season. Gave us the square root of FA.

He only played 7 games, half of which were played under the dire defensive system of Michael Appleton. Having seen him play plenty down this end of the country I guarantee if he's put into a decent system and given a chance he'll score goals.

With you on that, but GB saying he's the type of character we want at the club hmm.

Although his past scoring record is very good, as someone said earlier perhaps they can work it out in training,

especially if he starts the season fit.

Anyway we've got him for 2 years, we'll have to hope for the best or loan him out.

I was surprised when we let Marrow go when we did, after he got such rave reviews during his loan stint at Palace. Thought he had the potential to break into the first team. He seems to have fallen by the wayside since joining permanently but with any luck he could rebuild his career under Bowyer.

My concern (so far) with the signings we've made is , and i know we shouldn't run before we can walk , but i don't think any 1 of them would be good enough for the PL ,and promotion , as far off as it sounds is the target ? .... isn't it ?

Just suppose we do get promoted , this time next year the squad is going to need major changes again isn't it

Glad to hear that, do remember him scoring some good goals for Blackpool, looked a bit like Jermaine Defoe in style, obviously not that good though.

I think many of us would have said the same about Norwich, WBA & Swansea when they got promoted. Either way - first thing is to get promoted - with of course one eye on the FFP rules - I am sure the players we are bringing in will be more suited to the Championship as well as on lower wages than players like Murphy.

Been thinking the same. Preparing myself for a long stay in this division. I prefer having hopes of promotion to fighting for 10th to 15th in the PL though, so it's not all too bad.
