Well that montage seemed to suggest he thrives off chipped through balls, crosses etc. and balls he can run onto. I can't imagine there was much of that going on with last season's midfield and tactics. Perhaps our midfield this season will be a bit more creative like that.

To be fair Alex Marrow was very highly rated at Rovers prior to his move. He was then sold for 500k as he wasn't going to get many games. He is 23, a young defensive squad player on low wages, free as well so can't complain too much.

DJ was a deal arranged prior to Bowyer so can't really begrudge him on that. DJ is a proven goalscorer at this level. Down to him to prove he is worth being apart this squad.

Desperately need to ship off 15 players though. Need to desperately get rid of.

Rosado, Henrique, Givet, Robinson, Orr, Ribiero, Martin O, Marcuss O, Formica, Slew, Edinho, Jorge

Jordan thrives off exactly the same. The two of them can't play together.

So so negative- we are getting rid of the expensive flops and replacing them with hungry cheaper talent without the mental conception that they deserve a place.

You can't have your cake and eat it guys- the release of murphy and gomes will probably free up more than enough to pay marrow, Taylor, judge, kilgallon and Dj. Marrow and judge are of a good age also and may give a resale value if they are successful. I personally think Taylor will surprise a lot of us!

It's typical that the same posters who are taking the @#/? out if these more sensible signings- are the same posters banging on about getting rid of the deadwood.

And these signings sound like choices of the manager and staff- not agents or global advisors- to me this is a massive improvement.

Getting all these young players that grew up together back together could be a great idea if it works(meaning if they actually have good individual ability) they will all know each others game and have a good camaraderie that usually takes years to build up.

How long was the latest sabbatical TJ?

I agree they are quite similar players. Part of the reason DJ was ineffective in his spell with us last season was because he was being asked to play behind Rhodes, which is a position he isn't used to. Coupled with total lack of support from the midfield and it was always destined to failure.

Obviously there's a big chance Rhodes won't be here by the time August ends so we may not have this problem anyway.

Encouragingly, that was the first site/feed to state that Murphy had chosen Leeds over Rovers. Hopefully they've got this one right too.

A great observation!! I noticed that too which is why I'm not gonna lie...I got a little excited! Ha

Can honestly say I'd take Spearing over L.Murphy any day!!

im okay with Kilgallon coming in. would still love to see Dann stay, but if we can get good money for Dann, then i would say sell.

Dann will leave.

I'd be looking to get Givet off the books first, definitely. He's twice the player Dann is, but blatantly doesn't want to be here. If we can shift both and bring in someone of similar quality (shouldn't be hard in Dann's case..) for less wages, everyone's a winner.

We have Hanley a growing CB, O'Connell who's decent as well, we'll never get a better teacher or inspiration for them than Givet because of where we are today. France international (when they were good), champions league final, monaco and so on, that's great for the kids to have around. He's achieved their dreams, they'll listen to him. He was happy here once so potentially could be again, with the right approach. That first game back last season despite his obvious lack of fitness showed one thing, he's a pro. Apparently hates life now at Rovers and yet all I heard all night was Givet's name on the radio. The man would easily be the best CB in this league, if his head can be set right about rovers. 30K a week for that even at this level is money well spent. I really don't want to see him leave as I honestly feel that he could potentially be as important as Rhodes for our promotion bid. But one thing is really nagging me and it's that we lack real quality. I'd love to see us sign a good cm or absolute quality winger, a statement of intent. Keeping Givet, working the issues out combined with the afore, would give us a real quality spine to our team, something we lack and need.

When did Taylor work with bowyer? And does Kilgallon fit in to the summery if your including Marrow whos having a fitness test you have to include kilgallon.

I'm sure Taylor has at some point worked with Taylor before in some capacity.

It seems there is no scouting system in place at the club. Don't get me wrong i do not expect a promotion push at all, but I will be backing Bowyer. Ill be expecting 10-14th place finish.

The strategy employed by Bowyer and Rovers is probably the right one, I'm just not convinced about the level of talent of some of our signings. I think we're all aiming for promotion, and knowing how pivotal next season is, I'm not yet convinced that our squad is strengthened to the degree that we'll even mount a serious challenge for it. And then there goes Rhodes and Kean.

The cheapest managerial option was first chosen. And now Bowyer seems to be working under a tight budget, signing almost only freebies.

How much, do we know ? Was it another freebie?

Kilgallon is on a free transfer. good player.

don't see the problem of signing good free transfer players.

The only player I never seen play are Eastwood and Marrow. so cant comment how good they are.

Kane, Judge and Taylor are good signings.

DJ Campbell is proven at this level and has promotion experience.

Fans have to understand that we have to meet the Football League Financial fair play rules. so fans have to understand that we cant be spending silly money on wages and Fees like last season. That's why we have been trying to get rid high wage earners apart from Rhodes who must be keep at all cost.

I still expect Dann, Givet and Olsson to leave yet.

are we any closer to signing Kiko yet? this is Portugal Under 20's left back.

Plus Rochina is back to Rovers tomorrow for Training. was allow extra time off since the Spanish season didn't finish till start of June.
