It was set to go through end of last week but as GB has found this "should have a signing by end of the week" never goes to plan...

I'm not sure why we would agree to loan out a player that the manager wants to stay. If Rochina doesn't want to stay, we should cash in.

But if the other club doesn't want to buy yet, what can we do? Loan (with a fee if they buy) suits Rovers, Rochina and Elche :)

Id like to hold on to rochina, yes i get frustrated with him like most but i think he can be very useful...GB seems to know how to play a bit of footy and maybe could play to RR's strengths...cant be another season of aimless balls up towards Jordan and hoping he produces a bit of magic, imagine the goals he would score if he actually had decent ammo which i think RR could provide...

I reckon Bowyer sees the ammo coming from the likes of Taylor and Judge tbh. The Rhodes and DJ partnership seemed to have potential as they'd both take 2 defenders' marking. Maybe this is what Bowyer will tailor towards (but playing on the ground and crossing from the wing, rather than Appleton's poor-man's-BigSam effort).

I genuinely think both players would play better if is was balls into feet or from crosses than from Dann.

Well, I'd think most would, no?

But can Campbell and Rhodes play together?

I think what we needed most this summer was a target man and a midfielder who can tackle and pass a bit. There's no point having Rhodes if you can't set up a team around him.

Instead we've got a hodge-podge of off-cuts.

Maybe Best can be the target man with a pre-season under his belt?

I agree we're a passing midfielder short still, plenty of energy in there with Williamson and Judge (and Etuhu with less energy maybe!)

And we're not in the World Cup. At this level Rhodes is prolific and DJ is pretty good too. Perhaps 'partnership' is the wrong word but I could see them creating the space for each other the same way Bellamy and Dickov in Hughes' 2nd year here.

Comment after the article in the equipe about Coulibaly's potential move to Sheffield is that he'll be suited to English football because he likes the long ball game!

Hes only ever scored seven, just seven goals in his whole career to date, cant get into the Monaco team. He must go down as a massive gamble here, surely we should be expecting an extended trial period before Rovers make any decision on the guy.

And David Batty scored 8, just 8 in his whole career. He's a defensive midfielder so it's not really a negative that he's not scored many. He had also captained that Monaco team, look at the players they are buying and it's fairly obvious that he won't get a look in.

At least David Batty was one of the first names on the team sheet, which doesnt seem the case with this fellow.

he was their captain last season until he has had a bust up with Monaco Manager Claudio Ranieri. so he must have leadership skills.

I wonder if he played this morning in a behind closed doors friendly at Brockhall. which Best, Kilgallon, DJ, King, Songo'o and Givet played in.

I really don't seem the problem in having a look at this player. Monaco have signed some world class players in Falaco and Moutinho this summer

We are in the championship with limited money, how can we attract the best? This player may be good or bad, the same thing can be said for any signing. It is not always about the name because he is quite unknown.

I wasn't suggesting he'd be a good signing myself - don't know anything about him although I may have seen him play at some point - but just telling you what the comment said in case you hadn't seen it. think we'd all like to see the best in Rovers colours but it ain't going to happen in the near future and possibly not again in our lifetime, so what we have to look for is players who can do the job we need them to do. Whether this guy can remains to be seen, but if we're seriously looking at him, then someone thinks he can.
