[Archived] possible transfer targets summer 2013

Recommended Posts

Cresswell is the best in the division and is itching to get back back to the north west according to reports. We've got money off Olsson, we'll have money off Robinson hopefully an wages will clear up once Etuhu, Pedersen an Givet do one. We're not guna get out this league with free transfers an a manager heading into his 1st season as a 1st team manager.

Cresswell is very good left back. no doubt

Olsson's money seems to being spent on Spearing so that will be gone if he signs

what money off Robinson? still have a 2 years contract left at Rovers.

I'm hoping someone will take Etuhu and Pedersen off Rovers before the season starts. don't know if it will happen. hopefully it will but not counting on it.

think Givet will go shortly back to France with a couple of clubs there interest according to French newspaper. think someone mention this on here or the Rovers clearout topic.

Well it hasn't been spent yet unless I have missed something ? Is he going to sign ?

The article from Nicko looks to me like his agent letting everyone know he's still available. I can see him dragging it out to the last minute in order to see if a Premier League club comes in. Personally not bothered if he isn't desperate to join us, why should he be? Think he's overrated myself, but guess if he leaves Liverpool for Ewood we'll see.

Williamson's back injury sounds ominous as he had a major back op whilst at Sheff Utd - almost died on the table - and his career was in the balance according to reports at the time. Trust Rovers medical staff to screw up the medical and then give a 1 year contract extension.

Last season Hull brought in a few Eygptians on loan, as their league was suspended, after which they really pushed on in the league. The league has been suspended again, so maybe we should be looking to do the same?

we got Rhodes, Rochina, Dj and Best so don't need another striker unless one leaves which I cant see tbh.

I reckon Rhodes will not be a Rovers player when the transfer window shuts. Gut feeling. Very sad.

:lol::lol::lol:

No chance. think your Liverpool fan is taking the mick out of you Mate.

reckon he will be on 20k basic a week at Liverpool

Fair enough, it sounded a lot. But then you only have to look at Andy Carroll and suddenly it doesn't seem an impossibility.

I wouldn't really know who would be quality though. Sometimes the ones you're not enthusiastic about do the job well and the ones you get excited about just don't have it, or if they have they don't turn it on for you.

Can be the case, but lets remember Brockhall was like a holiday camp under Kean, if we bring in a couple of quality midfielders, who GB has

done his homework on, we should be ok.

When I listened to his interview on Radio Lancs, I was very impressed, he sounds a very professional sort of guy,

Do you have any possible suggestions as to who you think you'd like, bearing in mind that they'd have to be prepared to come here and many probably are not. Not having a go, but just curious because although I watch plenty of football I never have ideas about who we might like to sign and who I'd like to see us signing.

I don't watch much football these days Gumboots. Even when it's on my own TV. So I haven't the foggiest. I don't even have a clue who the players are that have moved this summer for £20m plus transfer fees. However I'm not paid 6 figures to know the who's who of the football league.

We are, to be brutal, still in the unknown territory we have been in since Sam was sacked. It all rests on Bowyer not being a pup like the other 3.

Well I think Spearing would be good for one, he sounds like a real battler, who can tackle and importantly pass the ball better than the likes of Lowe,

The paper talk about him not wanting to come is probably rubbish anyway, just get him to Ewood and Brockhall he'll be impressed and sign, unless

a Premier lge club want him.

Then we need someone with a bit of creativity, hundreds of players going very cheap in Spain, only 2 clubs can afford to pay wages, I would be

having a look over there for an experienced player in his prime.

They will come for a decent guaranteed wage and lets remember, we have excellent facillities.

Sorry, but Shola Ameobi is just plain rubbish. Sure, he puts himself about a bit, but he has only scored 3 goals in his career. He makes Heskey look like Gerd Muller. I'd go with the other two though, if we could afford them of course.

Are you exaggerating enormously for effect, or are you thinking of another player? Shola has scored 76 goals for Newcastle. In fact his goals to games ratio isn't that much worse than Heskey's. He's definitely far from prolific though, and not worth signing at all.

Then why are you posting on here?

You again. I should have known. Like my own personal grumpy little stalker. :D

I said much football, not no football. No access to SKY means I don't see any other football in the lower leagues as the only stuff on my TV is that champions league stuff. And after 18 years of Premiership football, as well as getting older, my knowledge of the Football Sunday Leagues has lapsed. I used to know so much about other clubs and players when I was in my late teens/early twenties. Though I know enough not to get excited over our business so far

Come on then Brain of Britain, who would you for?
