So you know someone who is privy to the inner workings of JR's mind? Or you're just taling a wild guess and hoping you're right?

I think you've also been predicting administration for a while now, and that there was no chance Leon Best would be coming to Rovers. Yep, you know you're stuff.

You are not worthy of a response.

Said all along that he will have a choice - I think one of those choices will raise a few eyebrows and I think has turned JR's head !

Only the top 5 or 6 (and Liverpool) would raise my eyebrows - can't see it being any of them - but if it is and they pay the right price then good luck to him.

Don't know what others think, but for pure drama and class, you can't beat the golf 'Majors'.

Yesterday's final day at US Open was epic - pure class.

Well done Rose - Phil Mick is pure class, a genius and a gent.

IMO, puts our motley footballers to shame.

Roll on Muirfield for the British Open - 30 days and counting.

No such tournament as the "British Open".

Its correct title is the The Open Championship or the The Open for short.

Don't give a shyte as to what you think.

As I said earlier, need to justify myself to no one on here.

Told you some three weeks ago that, IMO, he was off before anyone else got close - just as I did when a deal was agreed to sign him (look back at those posts).

Might be difficult for some to understand but sometimes there are sensitivities involved.

If you think I talk cr@p then put me on ignore.

There's nothing lower than pretending you have inside knowledge on a football messageboard. You my friend, know sod all, as is demonstrated by the fact 99% of the crap you talk never happens.

Fact is, we all know there's every likelihood he'll be off. most of us would like to think he'll stay because this is our club and just occasionally we find someone we hope feels it's their club for a bit longer. However, the fact is that f you're any good at what you do some "bigger" club will take you and, even if you rarely play you'll feel you've progressed because you're at the "bigger" club. We've lost loads of players like that. They may regret leaving us in some ways, especially if their career after us doesn't go the way they hope, but it won't stop them going and it won't stop Rhodes either if that's what he's decided.

Sad but true. Let's hope he had a nice long spiritual chat with David Bentley...

Rhodes is a player in the ascendancy. If he feels "progress" is a squad number at a Premiership side and a bigger wage, he'll go. If the staff can convince him that they've got enough about them to improve him as a player before his next big move, he'll stay another season. If he ends this season with a similar goal tally and we aren't promoted, he'll leave.

For anyone outside of Rhodes and his associates to be able to speculate his intentions is absurd. We all know why players move. He's not here for the good of the club, he's here to better himself. Just a question of whether his talent or his account balance is most important.

Strange that Jim when Muirfied advertise "British Open Ticket & Accommodation Packages" !

http://www.muirfield2013open.com/

Keep taking the tablets old boy.

The title of that page and all the text clearly states The 142nd Open Championship. The tab stating "British Open" and any other reference to British Open is wrong.

Here is the tournament's officlal site. http://www.theopen.com/. Note the vanity "The Open".

Here's the history of The Open

Like Gordon you have plenty of opinions but in fact don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Back to Jordan Rhodes and his impending move to the Premier League....

You really do live in a strange world.

Don't pretend to have 'insider knowledge' but pick a few things up in the course of my work.

Look back through my posts over the last 12 months and I think you will find examples of things that happened, here are some:

  • Revealed on here hours before any media got a sniff that deal to bring Rhodes to Rovers had been done - wonder where that came from !?!?
  • Week before Kean went - said on here he was off. Got pilloried for it but it happened and then Kamy revealed in a podcast that moves had been afoot to get Kean out for several days before he went. By the way, as some did, you would have got 40/1 at the time !
  • Flagged Holloway's Blackpool release clause before widely reported in the press (as potential Kean replacement)
  • Told you to fill your boots, 3 days before it happened, as Appleton going to Blackpool
  • Revealed Coyle going from Bolton (nice little earner that one !)
  • Flagged Coyle to Wigan some 2 weeks before completion

Just don't understand why folk get so personal on here.

It's simple, if I hear something then, if it's possible, I share it.

Have a nice day.

I agree with what you are saying but I still don't think he will go.

I think Rhodes will stay, not because he loves the club or anything like that but because no one will be prepared to pay the asking price.

Shaw has confirmed in today's LT there was an enquiry from Hull but they were told not for sale. Hull were only prepared to offer around the 4 million mark. It says West Ham are also interested but only as a fall back if Carroll doesn't sign and even then they have other more experienced players on their list.

JR signed a 5 year deal for huge money, he has had 2 excellent seasons in league 1 and the championship. He could try and force a move by going on strike or asking for a transfer but I don't think he is a position to do that yet.

If Venkys will let him go for between 6 - 8 million I think there is a good chance he will leave but if (big if) they put a 12 million plus price tag on him then I will be very surprised if any premier league club will pay that amount.

Jim, British is sometimes used in order to provide a point of differentiation from the Welsh Open, Scottish Open etc and is a term widely used, even as recently as today:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/golf/justin-rose-profile-open-champion-1958993

"The following year he burst onto the wider golf scene with a stunning performance at the British Open at Royal Birkdale".

Not an issue for me but if you have nothing better to do than be pedantic in the extreme then...............

I think a little humility might help. That and acknowledging your howlers.

If Hull have offered £4m for Rhodes that's an insult to club and player and waste of people's time. If that bid figure is correct they should be told in no uncertain terms to sling their hook and not come back.

Given the £40 million loss we are allegedly about to post and a run rate of £2m a month losses and with FFP round the corner is not more likely the case that we will have to sell him to subsidise the pay off of others in order to bring the total wage bill down??

It seems we are miles and miles away from complying with FFP and yet so far all we have seen (apart from the loanees disappearing) is 3 new additions. The squad is massive in terms of numbers let alone cost so there surely has to be some kind of exodus of high earners and they will probably be replaced by the cheaper options eg Judge, Taylor, Willaimson, the keeper etc etc

It stands to reason the only ones we will be able to shift will be our better players-either that or Venkys will have to fork out fortunes to pay off the likes of Murphy. Robinson, Givet, Etuhu, Pedersen otherwise they will sit it out and collect their dough.

They keep saying we don't need to sell but someone with a more basic understanding of maths than me please explain how it can be brought into order without selling the ''jewels''!!

Newcastle want a striker.

Is Ruben Rochina better than Jordan Rhodes?

Kinnear wants to bring Carroll back to Newcastle.

Mercerman, tell me which clubs want Rhodes and have put bids in for him???

Shaw has said in this morning LT that no bids in for Rhodes or transfer request from him.

Humility ?

Hey, my policy on here is not to get personal with other members.

However, when folk are having a go, as in all walks of life, then I will defend myself. If that sometimes comes across in the wrong way then I apologise but it does get a bit tiresome when some folk are, unfairly IMO, constantly having a go at me.

Maybe it's time for a break as this MB should not be about personal stuff of its members.
