You really do live in a strange world.

Don't pretend to have 'insider knowledge' but pick a few things up in the course of my work.

Look back through my posts over the last 12 months and I think you will find examples of things that happened, here are some:

• Revealed on here hours before any media got a sniff that deal to bring Rhodes to Rovers had been done - wonder where that came from !?!?
• Week before Kean went - said on here he was off. Got pilloried for it but it happened and then Kamy revealed in a podcast that moves had been afoot to get Kean out for several days before he went. By the way, as some did, you would have got 40/1 at the time !
• Flagged Holloway's Blackpool release clause before widely reported in the press (as potential Kean replacement)
• Told you to fill your boots, 3 days before it happened, as Appleton going to Blackpool
• Revealed Coyle going from Bolton (nice little earner that one !)
• Flagged Coyle to Wigan some 2 weeks before completion

Just don't understand why folk get so personal on here.

It's simple, if I hear something then, if it's possible, I share it.

Correct so had others, however, difference on this occasion was that serious moves had supposedly been afoot for several days prior to Charlton game to get Kean out which Kamy reported in a podcast AFTER Kean had gone.

You also said shortly before Coyle was going to Wigan that he could come here. Think I said Coyle was going to Wigan about 3 June, maybe a couple of days earlier; at no point AFTER that did I say he would come here. What I did say prior to Bowyer's 2nd caretaker spell and permanent appointment was that folk hadn't really picked-up on the real possibility of Coyle coming to Rovers and, IMO, it was a real possibility, perhaps closer than some would realise.

The Rhodes speculation had been going on for weeks too. Yes it had, but on the day the deal was announced, I put it on here several hours earlier that the deal had been agreed.

Again, wish folk would get their facts right.

Given the £40 million loss we are allegedly about to post and a run rate of £2m a month losses and with FFP round the corner is not more likely the case that we will have to sell him to subsidise the pay off of others in order to bring the total wage bill down??

It seems we are miles and miles away from complying with FFP and yet so far all we have seen (apart from the loanees disappearing) is 3 new additions.The squad is massive in terms of numbers let alone cost so there surely has to be some kind of exodus of high earners and they will probably be replaced by the cheaper options eg Judge, Taylor, Willaimson, the keeper etc etc

It stands to reason the only ones we will be able to shift will be our better players-either that or Venkys will have to fork out fortunes to pay off the likes of Murphy. Robinson, Givet, Etuhu, Pedersen otherwise they will sit it out and collect their dough.

They keep saying we don't need to sell but someone with a more basic understanding of maths than me please explain how it can be brought into order without selling the ''jewels''!!

I might be wrong but my impression of FFP is that its gonna be about as difficult for wealthy clubs to get around as the tax system is for wealthy companies.

Jim, British is sometimes used in order to provide a point of differentiation from the Welsh Open, Scottish Open etc and is a term widely used, even as recently as today:

The Open is the original and oldest open golf championship - which is why is has never had the "British" title.

Same with the Masters at Augusta - which is never known as the US Masters.

Anyone or any publication that refers to The Open as the British Open is incorrect.

Hey, my policy on here is not to get personal with other members.

However, when folk are having a go, as in all walks of life, then I will defend myself. If that sometimes comes across in the wrong way then I apologise but it does get a bit tiresome when some folk are, unfairly IMO, constantly having a go at me.

Maybe it's time for a break as this MB should not be about personal stuff of its members.

The thing people are reacting to is ther very philipl-esque way of expressing this latest rumour, i.e not specifying the club. His trademark is to say "Something is going to happen" and not specify further. So that when something, anything, happens he can say "That was what I was referring to". Not unlike how a horoscope works really. If you know which club, then say so. If you're right, a lot of people will eat humble pie for abusing you. If you don't reveal it and say "I told you so", then everyone will think you're full of @#/? (even if you aren't), and the next time you have information like this, this starts all over again.

I think it's fair to say that nobody on here really knows what's going on either with Rhodes or anything else at the club - and it's clear by the right/wrong ratio of the people who peturb to know things.

Yes the tournament is called The Open. But there are many 'Open's now and it's a pretty harmless thing to add 'British' at the start to ensure people are referring to the right one. Especially now as we have just had the US Open (to ensure there are no crossed wires about which competition is being talked about).

Anyway, Rhodes......I'm expecting him to leave, only in an attempt to lessen the disappointment if he does.
