blueboy3333 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Write-off Nicko at your peril. Nicko is closer to the Bolton stuff than the local Bolton press boys. He knows ED and he knows wee Dougie even more. Think about the logic. Rovers' finances highly likely to be critical, can't shift the big earners, Rhodes would almost guarantee Bolton promotion. Not as far fetched as some would think. Would Rhodes go to Bolton, well if it's a case of Rovers v Bolton, with no other options, then I think the answer would be yes. Echoes of Rovers / Spurs / Lineker to be so dismissive of this. Nothing should surprise you in football and, IMO, as I said weeks ago, one way or another, Rhodes will not be with Rovers come the start of the season. Forget about the Murphy bid and thinking Rovers have money to spend, I think you will find come 31 August that net net transfers will be at least £10million+ positive. How do YOU know Nicko is closer to Bolton than the local journo's? Re Murphy: the following is from the LT: Rovers had a bid of around £1m accepted by Crewe yesterday and Murphy has given initial indications that he is happy to join Rovers instead of Wolves, who put in an offer earlier in the week. So you're saying Flanagan is wrong and YOU know different?

Batman. Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Clearly, you struggle with reading and comprehension. I have never claimed to be 'ITK'. All I do is share what I hear in the course of my work and when I am out and about. It's that simple and it's a pity that I have to keep saying it. This MB is supposed to be about members' views and opinions on football. By all means counter with argument but please cut out the personal stuff. That's a brilliant opener by somebody who's just completely failed to address the crux of the post he is quoting.

So you're saying Flanagan is wrong and YOU know different? Don't think you have understood. No one is disputing that Rovers have made a bid for Murphy and had it accepted - I think it's potentially a great signing and what we haven't done enough of over the last calamitous 2 years. What I said was that, IMO, Rovers might well pay fees and make a number of signings but come 31 Aug., I think you will find that transfer fees in will exceed transfer fees out by at least £10million. Personally, I doubt that you will see Olsson1, Rhodes, probably Hanley and possibly Dann in a Rovers' shirt again. Thought I'd stipulated why I thought Nicko knows so much about Bolton.
ABBEY Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Glad to see you back on MM. MM, why wouldn't you not accept Abbey bet then if you are SO CONFIDENT that Rhodes will be gone then????? I think Rhodes will be here for next season. NOBODY is going to pay the fee Rovers want. WHU, Villa, Cardiff, Hull, Palace and Sunderland are signing other strikers, so cant see any other teams who are going to be bidding for him. Any 'ITK' person is reliable on their sources and how good their are. Wasnt rhodes Chaddy...It was we would have new owners on kick off day.

Murphy would be a good signing and the type of signing we should be making. Personally Martin Olsson and Probably Dann can go for me. Hanley has just signed a new contract about 3 weeks ago so why are Rovers are going to sell him. He is has played for Bowyer at First team, Reserves and Academy level and seems very close to Bowyer. Personally think Hanley will be captain next season if Dann does leave. Cant see Rhodes leaving for what I have said before. Wasn't Rhodes Chaddy...It was we would have new owners on kick off day. ok thanks Abbey. I don't think we will have new owners anytime soon
ABBEY Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 ok thanks Abbey. I don't think we will have new owners anytime soon me neither
T.J.Newton Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Since Chris Flanagan/LT are back on the ball with putting out the very latest rovers news(usually via twitter) I think Ill try staying away from this place until the bs merchants and gobjobbys go quiet(as if that will ever happen) and I know I wont be missed .

I don't disagree that Rovers will have a surplus when it comes to transfer dealings. In fact it would be a shock if we didn't. That is different to saying we have to sell though. Bowyer has said he is under no pressure to sell anyone, however we have a massive squad with some big earners contributing very little. Dann, Robinson, Orr, Murphy, Best, Goodwillie, Etuhu, Rochina, Givet, Formica, Pedersen, Rosado, Olsson x 2 could all be sold this summer. They would bring in £10m+ and would the team be any worse off? Apart from Dann and maybe MGP, none of those players contributed under Bowyer. Rhodes and Hanley won't be sold unless they want to go. That's a lot different to them going because we can't afford to keep them.

darrenrover Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 You keep promising that, but never go away. Could you please take Saxo with you? And Danny Murphy, Dixon Etuhu and various Portugesers amongst a few others!
saxo1man30 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Can you take saxo on a free?...........please?....he loves all of you on here. hi cloggy..
whiteinpeace Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 As a Bolton fan I would be hugely surprised if we had that sort of money to spend. However Nixon has pretty much got every story about us spot on for the past few years. He's friends with Gartside and the manager and if he says it there will be truth there. Bolton news are useless. I certainly don't expect it to happen but it's almost certain the interest is there if Nixon has reported it.

I doubt anyone in the division would be willing to pay him what he's on here!! Never mind the transfer fee!

However, Nixon talks more crap than Singh

Nixon is a clown who has clearly been upset by our fans campaign to have steve kean(his mate) removed, the fact he has disappeared from this board these days ceratinly suggests that, he has an issue with us.

He's also a well known stirrer and someone who's included stuff in his articles that has allegedly been purposely planted on here just to see if he would. He'll turn on you lot like a rattlesnake should wee Dougie ever get potted or resign. Beware !

I'm no fan of his, just stating that he's the best source of Bolton information. If he says it there will be truth there.

If he says it there will be truth there. Although i hope and suspect it's Nicko trash talk i did say earlier today that it wouldn't be as far fetched as it sounds because you've got Davies off the payroll so may be able to match Rhodes wages and paying in installments is possible, or just taking over the payments. You've got the parachute payments and an owner who may allow this move. Just hope Rhodes see's it as a pointless side step
whiteinpeace Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I think your getting your hopes up based on a nixon agenda.. Nah I think we probably would like to do a deal. I don't think it's going to happen in a million years. Mind with your owners anything is possible....

He certainly isn't a clown. Not quite as savvy with Rovers as he used to be but he very much has his finger on the pulse with Northern teams and has a vast array of contacts. I would suggest that him not coming on this MB now is more to do with the growth of Twitter which gives him reach to a far greater number of fans across different clubs.
