Dougie freedman has described rhodes to bolton reports as 'fiction'. End of.

End of?

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Winston Churchill 1942

It amazes me that people, (including journalists), interpret quotes so literally. I remember Robert Coar describing reports linking Alan Shearer with Newcastle as "frivolous fiction".

It wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth in the Bolton link but we're probably safe as they're only another Championship club.

If a Premier League club comes in with a serious bid it would be different.

It would make literally no sense for him to go to Bolton.

For some reason I'm quite confident that he'll be spending this season with us and we'll see where we all are in 12 months....

Aye, he'll never move to a divisional rival...

In all seriousness though, can't see him moving to Bolton. They haven't got the brass and surely he has just as much chance of a push at promotion with us as he does them? Plenty of transfer window left yet for a PL clubs to chance their arm. Deadline day is scaring the bejesus out of me though. Can see a Fulham or Sunderland sticking in a big bid for him, especially if Austin has already been sold elsewhere by then.

It is necessary to have a name or two lined up, just in case for that reason. Deadline day can be very frantic and we don't want to lose Rhodes and then be blindly groping about for any other striker.

That's why I'm not as bothered as some about signing DJ. If Rhodes goes, I suspect he could fill in.

BBC Lancashire @BBCLancashire 4m

Blackburn striker, Jordan Rhodes tells @bbclancashire he's certainly not leaving Ewood Park. We'll tweet the interview out shortly

Rhodes says HE WANTS TO STAY AT ROVERS!!! http://audioboo.fm/boos/1485257

mid table PL teams are spending big money on transfers this season.(norwich, cardiff, west ham, southampton). i dont think rhodes 9 mil tag will be a problem for many...

Norwich have just bought RVW from Sporting Lisbon for 8.5 mil.

Cardiff have bought a Danish striker for 7 million or so.

Southampton are after Leandro Damiao according to press reports

Fulham are chasing Darren Bent according to press reports.

Newcastle want Kone or Bent according to press reports. Think they had a Bid accepted by Wigan for Kone

Sunderland have been chasing Jozy Altidore according to Local media reports

so I don't see any team paying what Rovers want which seems to 12 mil plus. Rhodes seems to be staying at Ewood Park and Rovers

Letting him go for £9M would be absolut stupidity. He was signed by £8M and scored about 30 goals. The price should be atleast doubled. I know his real value is closer that 9 than 16. Put Fulham and Sunderland to the list also!

Pretty sure he doesn't have a £9m price tag. It'll take quite a bit more than that I'd imagine. Especially with him making all the right noises about wanting to stay.

We'll see. I don't mean to get all negative like a couple of posters, but how often have players said such things and then jumped ship. Football is full of Nick Clegg types.

Yep. Just do the talking on the pitch.Wouldn't football be better without the cliches, inane pre and post match drivel press conferences and hollow pledges of alleigence.Just keep scoring Jordan.

Then again I'm sure some people, probably more people for that matter, would say something along the likes of "he earns a fortune from the club, we pay good money to watch him and yet he thinks he's above us all. Won't even do interviews anymore. Who does he think his?"

What's the guy supposed to say. It's clear from that that he himself is not pushing for a move. However, money talks and a good offer would almost certainly tempt the club and premier league football would tempt the player. Situations change - all he can do is tell it like it is at the time he's talking. Struck me as as honest as he can be. He knows no more than anyone else whether he'll still be here because it's not entirely up to him.

Maybe so, but JR not only looks a sound chap but also speaks like he means what he says, lets have some belief eh.

Jordan has done well there, engraced himself even further to the Rovers fans but left the door open, he won't push for a move I imagine but if we were to accept an offer he would go

Lets hope nobody tempts the owners
