Ricky Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I wonder if he wanted Murphy gone?? Interesting that he says it'll be a great team spirit this year.

Ricky Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Would also explain the rumours that he wasn't happy about something. Can't remember the full details but have a feeling glen posted something about it a while ago. Think it was rumoured that Rhodes wanted talks with Bowyer. Apologies if it wasn't glen but I think it was.
Guest Norbert Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I can imagine Murphy's removal would help. At the place I work, it has felt better since one of the supervisors has gone the another shift, and the other is on holiday. It's probably like that with lazy boy out the door. Some people just arrive to a new workplace and think they're the man and swan around talking down to other people. Perhaps Danny was a bit like that. Of course this is all speculation. For all we know Danny's wife may have kept coming down to Brockhall and kick up a fuss because they won't pass to him/play him enough.
Rover_Shaun Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Swansea make an enquiry about Rhodes Time to remove HULL from the topic title?
Guest Norbert Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Straight swap for Michu then! Or part exchange with Leon Britton coming here.
Stuart Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I think I'm going to avoid this thread for the foreseeable future. It's going to be a long Summer...
chaddyrovers Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Messageboard meltdown coming on here now. question is how much will Swansea be prepare to pay for him? 12 million pounds plus please.
Rover_Shaun Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Can we afford to let him go unless we are talking mind bogglingly silly money?? Not many know where the net is these days, especially the rest of the rag tag forwards we have
Atomicrover Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Tell them to go f*** a Leek! Sorry, I'm usually more cerebral than that.
BlueMonday Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Think the Rovers Trust need to have a word with the Swansea board. They should show a bit of solidarity with supporters who have aspirations for Club ownership. Go and annoy Burnley, I believe the boy Austin knows where goal is.
RoverScot Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 A quick look on a few Swanesa City boards and they don't seem that impressed. They think it's a tactic to get Vitesse Arnhem to hurry up and sell them Wilfried Bony.
Kamy100 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 A premier league club coming in for Rhodes is my big worry. If they do make an enquiry, I can see Fulham possibly also coming in for him. I think that providing someone bids £10 million plus then it''ll be difficult as surely Rhodes will want the chance to have a crack at the PL, especially if established clubs such as Swansea and Fulham want him.
chaddyrovers Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Swansea close in on Bony http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-close-wilfried-bony-4876070 Swansea eye Benitez and Gomis as Laudrup confirms Bony interest http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/Swansea-eye-Benitez-Gomis-Laudrup-confirms-Bony/story-19483149-detail/story.html
Atomicrover Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 "WalesOnline"...sounds almost like an oxymoron....well some kind of moron anyway

Be daft not to go to a prem club but no amount of worrying on our part will make any difference. If he's going, whatever we think, he'll go and we just need, as a club, to make sure he doesn't go cheaply. As fans well just have to wish him well, especially if he brings in a nice pile of cash

To sit on the bench Kamy? A season too early for him I think, he's not ready to start in the Premier League IMO. May as well stop here and see how we get on. Anyway, this speculation will go on all summer. Let's hope he stays and if we get that daft big offer we have enough time to replace him.
beanie Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I'd take 12m for him it's a fair price he does not seem to be in a hurry to leave so would take a bid of around that to get him a team like swansea would suit him the spearhead of a passing side not someone who has to hold up the ball.
Ossydave Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Doesn't seem much substance to that story, is that chap usual on the ball with his reports?
chris_h Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Been here before? Ah well, I've resigned myself to him going and then that way I won't be so disappointed if he does. Swansea potentially coming in may tempt Fulham and others into a bidding war, which might be a very slight positive I suppose.

If he's going the sooner it happens the better. To lose him on the last day of the window would be disasterous.
roverslee Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 is rhodes really the type of player Swansea go for, it would seam a risk and allot of cash for them, cant see him fitting into the style off football they play
broadsword Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I think I'm going to avoid this thread for the foreseeable future. It's going to be a long Summer... Yes, it's gonna be a cold, lonely summer.
Bundesburn Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I don't know about anybody else, but this doesn't seem right to me. Rhodes gets a lot of stick on here for not contributing to the various phases of play and I think Swansea need players that do. Michu is a great example. Only way I can see it being true is if they're looking to directly replace Danny Graham, but I don't think Rhodes is close enough to the finished product, especially not considering the £12-15million it (should) take to get him. Also, Hull link seems dead and they're mentioned in the story. Could see Fulham working, though, sadly. London has led many moths to its flame before. Many of them burned, too!
