We need to keep him out season is over before it begins if we don't, he will score more than any striker in this league including Zamora, remy, holt and Austin. If you look at the bookies odds aswel he is the clear favourite to be the top scorer at 5/1 with Austin second at double that.

Grant Holt would have been excellent foil for Rhodes. We could have blasted our way to the Prem playing good old 4-4-2 which still has more than a place at this limited level.

Damn. On two fronts! Mind you I don't know if Hull could match our asking price for Rhodes, which I guess is £12m+.

I'm not disputing it's likely that Rhodes will leave, or that he is interesting a few teams- but the above is exactly why he won't go to Hull IMO.

Bent is finished at Villa so if they'd like to give us him plus some cash it would be a good deal for us IMO. Bent's a much better allround player than Rhodes is ever likely to be.

i'd also be watching the Benteke situation at Villa , Bent is on his way out if Benteke leaves too , that give's them 2 strikers to find and £25m to do it

I don't see Villa coming after Rhodes at all. If he didn't play a Proven PL striker in Darren Bent who scores goals then why would he look to sign Rhodes.

Lambert seems to like Strikers who are target men like Holt, Morrison and Bentake.

I don't know about the last bit.

To me, it's more: if he goes, so do our chances of squeezing into a top-6 place.

Without him, we're very much a standard mid-table team.

I think Rhodes will keep his word and stay this season, but we must get promoted or we'll definitely lose him next summer.

Then without Rhodes and the parachute payments, well we'll be staying in the Championship a long time.

a little dramatic! his goals kept us last season, but that was a season with 5 different people in charge and no stability whatsoever...

get someone like spearing in, possibly someone to replace rochina, someone with a bit of flair and with rhodes goals i think we will have a good season under boywer.

i don't, however its made to seem that the players are finally happen playing under Bowyer and im assuming that Venky's have learnt from last seasons farce!

Scoring remains a big concern. Not fair on Rhodes, nor good for the team if others don't chip in.

Bests best season tally is 17 in league 1, he's never hit double figures above that level. Why on earth people think he's up to this is beyong me and probably based on his spree at newcastle.
