Chaddy, think if you look back, you will find that I was the first to post that the Rhodes deal was done several hours before anyone, including Cryer, even had a whiff.

Leaving that aside, If Nicko talks cr@p, why do you keep pumping him on Twitter for info ?

Firstly, it was Glen Mullan who first reported that Rovers were interest in Rhodes. that was my point. Nicko said for a few days no interest from us.

Secondly, Have I said Nicko talks crap??? I believe not! now you are putting words in people mouths now!

Nicko is source for Rovers info. But so are people like Kamy, Mullan, Makey11 and Unleaded.

Just answered that.

I am not Nicko.

Think I've proven that time and time again with my knowledge of Rovers in 60's/70's as Rev has said.

The lady doth protest too much?

What I don't get then is why you are taking on his attributes just to wind folks up?

You've always claimed (and I've backed you up at times) that you pass on what you hear in good faith - usually on the gloomy side of things - but just recently you seem to be talking like an ITK and bigging up Nixon at every opportunity. Is he a personal friend of yours?

Your assertion that Kamy and Glen (both Rovers fans) can't touch him is a bit much, btw. Whether you believe it or not.

Much like your "Venkys will sell before the season starts" dot-to-dot drawing, I think you are simply sticking your neck out and wumming on this Rhodes thing. If Nicko has PM'd, DM'd or S&M'd you the inside track, he probably got the rumour from on here. From you.

That may be true that he does have contacts to be able to get info spot on, therefore in my eyes it only further shows his agenda as being against Blackburn Rovers by unsettling the player and the fans. Common sense says if Rhodes goes anywhere it will be to better himself i.e the prem. as we all know the championship is not as easy as we all thought it would be, nobody can gaurentee that Wigan or Bolton will go up so therefore it`s a gamble for the player as well he may as well just stay here where he has now settled in. His earnings at the moment certainly won`t be upped by either Wigan or Bolton either, they simply can`t afford it. Nixon is winding us up.

I'd like to point out that we didn't 'all' think the Championship would be easy Rhodie

Of course we're reducing the wage bill, but as you're well aware the focus, quite rightly, is on the parasites and dead-wood. I don't believe there's any pressure on Bowyer to sell Rhodes as part of this wage cull.

I guess you are prob right yeti-dog............ just like there is no pressure on Villas Boas to sell Gareth Bale. ^_^

Don't honestly think a move to Wigan holds much long term appeal for any player. Whelan won't be around forever and when he's gone the Club are likely to be viewed by his family as an unwanted millstone round their neck, as we were by the Walker Trust.

Can't see Whelan providing as generously for the Club as Jack did in the immediate aftermath of his death either.

Like Rovers I think Wigan are immensely attractive as a Premier League Club as a relatively cheap way of buying into the Premier League brand. As a Championship Club or worse neither Club hold much appeal to the outside investor other than died in the wool fans I woulsn't have thought.

wont get that far according to nicko.....

I cant believe Rovers fans are betting on us selling Rhodes. very sad to see

I just don't understand that stance. What on earth has laying a bet got to do with the club you support? Betting or not betting will have no influence whatsoever on the outcome.

Look, both Kamy and Glen obviously have their own contacts and are very knowledgeable and I respect that they perhaps have to be more guarded in what they reveal on here than what Nicko reveals on Twitter or prints in The Mirror.

Yes, Nixon seemed to go through some 'dark times' when he did not appear to do Rovers any favours and it's understandable that many fans were annoyed.

However, having said that, like him or loathe him, he has some excellent contacts and is very informative and some of the criticism levied at him is, IMO, OTT.

And finally, Nixon is not a personal friend.

I concur with this.

From now on I will be referring to him as Nickoman. I nearly spat my Biere de Belgique out when I read this;

Mercerman, on 26 Aug 2013 - 5:02 PM, said:snapback.png

"Nicko has forgotten more than the likes of Kamy, Mullan, Bayes, Flanagan, Cryer etc have ever known."

As I pointed out the other day, his entire schtick over the past 3 months has been completely inline with that the king of scottish gutter press himself.

It is kind of offensive really, my opinion, you are entitled to yours and I don't go around slagging you off.

I firmly believe old Shebster sold the idea to venkys to part with 8m that they would get back a profit.

I seldom agree with your views, Sparky but that's life.

On this point, compared with all the other irrationality that Venkys have heaped on us, I think you are probably right.

I just really hope nobody comes up with the dosh!

Wonder how much money could be made from laying on Rhodes to Wigan at a well known betting exchange. Could be some decent money in that if you had a really good way of getting people to believe it. Getting it in a newspaper would be really good I guess. people read it, believe it and put money on it. Wonder how many times you could do this with the same player?????

All theoretically speaking obviously,

nothing theoretical about that at all, that's whats happening, can anybody on here prove it-NO(just don't be daft enough to fall for it by placing a bet)

scumbag agents, bookies and bent tabloid hacks have English football by the nads.

The more things change, the more they stay the same... well not exactly but it calls to mind that phrase.

No exchange has ever had a market on it im afraid but the press could easily do as you state. I remember a back page story saying Spumess was leaving Rovers to go to Spurs. I took over £100 on Betfaitr at 1.8 later that day when, on radio Lancs, he categorically denied it. He was back out at 5 or 6's by that evening. Easy money for the Journo IF he knows its BS.

totally agree. Think he was a lot better in his hold up play and got more involved and he seems to back to the Rhodes from last season.

Chaddy, Rhodes couldn't hold the ball up last season either. He is not equipped to play the lone front runner role which is why Strachan has preferred to select a 30+ year old playing in the USA over Rhodes for Scotland. With his retirement from international football it will be interesting to see how Rhodes does at that level as he should now get a clear run at that position.

I cant check the market on my phone but im sure Victor Chandler make no money out of that market if Rhodes doesnt move at all as Rovers are not an option in that market.

Not prepared to tell you as some sensitivities.

If Rhodes goes, I will tell you where I put my money (whether I win or lose) and why - it will then make sense.

And in other news, I have this coming Saturday's winning Lotto numbers.

Don't believe me?! What?! Well just you wait and see, I am going to show you all!! How dare you question me, i am telling you the truth, honest.

All right, since you all don't believe me I am going to prove it to you, just meet me back here at around 8.30pm Sat and I will give you the winning numbers. See, that'll show you all won't it. Just you wait, I guarantee you I will be right.

 Give me strength. I wonder if you can even hear yourself sometimes. Unreal.

There's still Steven Fletcher over him and Strachan started Leigh Griffiths before him in Croatia.

Just out of interest, is this message board a forum for bitch fests, willy waving contests or for matters of discussion relevant to Blackburn Rovers?

I'm somewhat confused as to its purpose, hence the question.

On another point, from a totally selfish perspective, is there anything the mods can do to restrict the access of non members? This is an issue for me and no doubt a host of other expats particularly on match days. This site is our premier point for updates these days and it goes into meltdown as a plethora of non members log in to the point it becomes a waste of time because it takes 10 minutes to update.

Not having a whinge guys but I would appreciate it if anything could be done.
