thenodrog Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Does anyone know if Dunn is near returning? Seems awhile ago that he was looking very close to playing! Same old, same old. When he does return it'll only be for a brief cameo 60 mins or two. btw Has anybody ever used 'David Dunn' and 'hypochondriac' in the same sentence? imo he doesn't need time on the treatment table as much as he needs time on a couch. Prob all too late now I guess.

darrenrover Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Out of interest is anybody aware of where Rochina is up to regarding his rehabilitation and when we can expect him to be available for selection again? It's now 12 weeks since he sustained his shoulder dislocation (4th August), unless there have been complications, I would have thought that ample time for an outfield player to recover from such an injury. We've definitely missed him and his and Dunny's return may just be the tonic we all need.

Salgado Is A Hero Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Yea he said within a month providing all goes well a few days ago.
Rover_Shaun Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 When he returns, to his usual non-productive blind alley play, who do people then pin their hopes on?
FGS5635 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 When he returns, to his usual non-productive blind alley play, who do people then pin their hopes on? Nobody.......we give up on life, all kill ourselves and admit rovers are heading for the conference and life just plain sucks.
JonnyBRFC Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 When he returns, to his usual non-productive blind alley play, who do people then pin their hopes on? In the brief spell he had in the Derby game he looked great for us. Not pinning hopes on him but with Rochina and Dunn hopefully returning shortly we have more options to our attacking threat, which surely is a good thing?
darrenrover Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 When he returns, to his usual non-productive blind alley play, who do people then pin their hopes on? In the land of realism and mediocrity, one defence splitting pass that results in a goal amongst several that may go astray or any other cameo of individual brilliance that Rochina is capable of, is worth pinning hopes on in my book.
JonnyBRFC Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 From the news article on Rovers site - "David Dunn and Ruben Rochina were both out today so that is pleasing, they joined in some non-contact stuff so they are getting close, so we are near to getting some bodies back." FGS5635 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Doesnt sound like dunny is back for the weekend then reading that

Usually outweighed by the pirouettes he tries near his own area, giving the ball away, resulting in a goal. He's never been anywhere near what he has been made out to be since he got injured. Like Kalanic before him he seems to mysteriously gain gravitas by not actually playing :/

Backroom Mike E Posted October 24, 2013 Backroom Posted October 24, 2013 Usually outweighed by the pirouettes he tries near his own area, giving the ball away, resulting in a goal. I recall about zero of these from Rochina tbf.
Rover_Shaun Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Corrected for you. Him AS WELL Just off the top of my head is Peterborough last season, luckily for him his show pony crapness didn't matter in that game. There have been more but I've had a beer lol
darrenrover Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Corrected for you. Gravitas was only gained from my perspective by raw talent that could have been about to flourish. I for one can't wait for him to be back in the team. The comparisons with 'Simon' and or Kalinic don't warrant a comment.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Totally agree on the comment that the ability of absent players mysteriously sky rockets in the opinion of fans. The ludicrous nature of this phenomena is most easily observed when the names of substitutes are chanted for during matches who have done naff all for months on the pitch.
Amo Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Kalinic & Vukcevic were quality players. Just never got a fair crack of the whip.
roversfan99 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Had high hopes for both and saw promise. But looking at their careers both before and after. Is that really true?
BRFC4EVA Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I don't think its a case ofa player getting better when he is out the side. Nobody on this thread has made any ott assumptions like 'Get Rochina back and we'll win the league', but just a postitive belief that he can have an impact, especially on tight games when a stroke of class can get you that winner. How just cant see how anybody can claim we wouldnt have been better off if hed been fit vs Charlton and htfc. Anyway, its been 4 months now, after Brighton there is a 2 week gap for internationals, hopefully he'll be pushing for a place after that. Anybody have any up to date info?

LET article today said he will resume full training during the international break. So realistically he should be pushing for a place on the bench in one or both othe 2 home games after that I'd hope
pick32 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 He just put on twitter that he resumed full training today, so think he is likely to be back after the internationals.
FGS5635 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Well with 2.5 weeks of full training before the reading game, he should deffo be back for that game barring any setbacks. Great news!!
Reedy You're A Star Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Great news. Hopefully Dunn's not too far behind. If we can get on a roll leading up to the busy Christmas period we can, hopefully, have a good go at those last playoff spots in the New Year. As long as the family silver hasn't been flogged in the January sales.
roversfan99 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Dunns back this weekend, as is Etuhu and Best.
Jimmy612 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 This thread has cheered me up. Dunn & Rochina COULD have a big role in our season here on in. Let's hope Bowyer can get RR up for this run in. He looked eager against Derby. Hopefully same will happen upon his return!
