This thread has cheered me up. Dunn & Rochina COULD have a big role in our season here on in.

Let's hope Bowyer can get RR up for this run in. He looked eager against Derby. Hopefully same will happen upon his return!

I'm with you and your optimism Jimmy. With Dunny and Rochina back and available, Evans recuperation on track we could be a force to be reckoned with at the business end of the season.

From what I've seen so far, we've nothing to fear in this league. At home, without those with an ability to unlock a defence, we've so far struggled against teams who are intent on 'parking the bus'. Dunny and Rochina will give us a different option. Teams with more ambition, we've turned over.

Away, I think we should always be capable of nicking at least a point more often than not.

Next 10 games up to and including Leeds on New Years Day are crucial in many ways IMO. The minimum target has to be 20 points to put us in the mix. Then GB can go to the owners with a wish list!

They will show him 54.5M written in red ink

Have a nasty suspicion Rochina will be sold or more likely loaned out in January.

Sale maybe but I don't think we will loan him out.

And if he's anything about him he'll show them a potential £100 million a year income stream and ram home why there's a £54.5 million debt!

Well I dunno. I guess it depends on how Bowyer perceives him.

For me, I'd gamble on him and have him in the team. He's a player that can be the difference. Remember Taarabt taking QPR up almost single handed? Rochina is in that ilk.

Don't ask him to defend, just leave him to play. Get the ball into his feet.

I would be pretty unhappy if we decided to rely on one player especially the very very unpredictable Rochina.... yes he can be brilliant in short bursts but he has no work rate, gives the ball away and worst of all he is so selfish with the ball even if Rhodes was sitting in the middle of the penalty area undefended he would still try to take on the whole opposition to score himself..

I'm looking forward to the return of Ewood Messi. It's amazing how good he has become in his enforced absence. The many weaknesses in his game and sometimes complete disappearing acts in some matches must have been in my imagination.

If we are ever to recoup our massive investment in Jordan Rhodes then Dunn and Rochina are critical to that ambition. JR doesn't appear to be able to 'score when he wants' if those two aren't around. He's on a barren run at the moment and when he isn't scoring he is the worst forward that we have.

btw Might have been good to see Rhodes and Berkowitz in the same team.

Would you rather we persist with the blunt but hard-working Judge? Or perhaps the completely uninspiring Ben Marshall?

You can pick his weaknesses all you want Jim but as far as I'm concerned he's probably the second most talented player in the side. Oh and the first talented can only play for approximately 55-60 mins even at his fittest.

Tell me, what do you feel we were missing against opposition such as Charlton and Huddersfield when we failed miserably to trouble their goalkeeper?

Bowyer's a fan of his. Didn't he say something at the recent Q&A along the lines of: "if he's fit, he plays". Or something like that. However, I just think the club might go above his head and try to get Rochina off the books, like the other signings from that period (Formica, Vukcevic etc.) Also, just how happy IS Ruben in merry old England?

It's amazing how the bloke played for us over 12 years ago, you manage to mention him fairly often, but you remain totally clueless as to how to spell him name.

I know its only one half but surely people just need to look at the game Rochina featured in against Derby as an inidication of Bowyer's thoughts on him and his value to the team. Bowyer started him ahead of Best in what was virtually a fully fit squad, and Rochina looked extremely threatening throughout the 40 minutes.

Take out the Dunn-inspired drubbings of Barnsley and Bolton and we have a problem scoring goals. Out of the top 7 only QPR and Blackpool are low scorers, other than that we need to be going along at about 1.5 per game if we wanna get up there, not the 1 per game we've managed without Dunn.

Judge doesn't score or create goals, I've said this about him from the start. Last season in 11 league starts (and 8 sub appearances), Rochina scored 5 and created 3. Says it all.

Exactly that. Rochina isn't the finished article, he IS frustrating, but he's one of the few players Rovers have who's a little bit special and causes defenders to double-up on him (freeing more space for others). As already stated, 5 goals & 3 assists in 11 league starts last season proves the guy is more than a fancy-Dan with no end-product.

  • Backroom

In honesty he was pretty crap against Derby he fluffed a sitter and shot several times without threatening when a pass was on

However our shape and setup seemed threatening with him in there
