I would like to see how Rochina and King would do playing wide either side of a main striker. Given that we've signed Judge and Taylor I'm doubting whether that's the way Bowyer wants to set the team up though. Having said that, Judge can play centrally and Taylor will possibly be a squad player.

................ Kean

Henley Dann Hanley Olsson

.. Judge Williamson Jones

Rochina .................... King

............... Rhodes

I think that'd work really well.

Not a bad shout that LeChuck. Looks like it should have some goals in that lineup. Also some creativity to feed Rhodes better than we did last season.

I think Salgado tweeted a few times last season that he thought Rochina would be best wide in a 4-3-3. That's definitely King's best position as well.

Why would he go from Rovers to Huddersfield?!

That move would make no sense whatsoever.

For what it's worth, I think he'll stay in Spain if there's an offer there - but I would like to see how GB could utilise his undoubted talent.

As has been said, he's the most technically gifted player in this division by quite a wide margin.

In defense of Rochina - how many times last season was he left isolated with no support from midfield ? If he comes back - I would hope with the more energetic midfield that Bowyer seems to be putting together - he would have more options. Not saying he doesn't need teaching when to release the ball - but not certain it is all his fault.

That's not even close to being true!

Bellamy, Zaha, Forestieri, Vicente, Lee Chung-Yong straight off the top of my head. Take your pick from QPR and Wigan if we're talking this season.

he struggled to get a game didn't he?

he's a strange one, undoubted talent on the ball, but seemingly thick as 2 short planks when it comes to what to do with it next(usually just blasts it at goal or gives it away)

I think it will take some serious molly coddling to get the best out of him.

From what I've seen and read he hasnt been very influential at Zaragoza.

Zaragoza are about to get relegated if they lose against Atletico Madrid on Saturday. They also need Vigo and La Coruna to lose.

2 games left.

Rochina has more talent in his little toe than the majority of our squad but has a footballing brain the size of a walnut. Bowyer appears to have faith in him and he's worth another go next season.

He's definitely worth a place in the squad, but for me he's not a regular starter - not even in the Championship. Not sure he'll want to be a bit-part player for another year, but what are his options? Probably the player with the most potential that's currently on our books, but it's been status quo for a few seasons now so hopefully he's a late bloomer when it comes to reading/understanding the game.

At this level his ability on the ball does make other teams panic. They don't seem to realise that he is generally clueless. For that reason he is worth keeping at this moment.

Agree. Plus he can produce moments of magic with his ability despite his lack of footballing nous. The Leeds equalizer is just one example of that.

Agree. But when (if!) we do get the best out of him he will be a top class player. Not sure Bowyer's the man to do it tbh - reckon a Souness type is needed like Souness did with Jansen.

I think if we play him in a 442 up front with rhodes and wingers either side he would be a good link to midfield and drop deeper and feed rhodes with clever passes,I am sure he played up front for barca b and in most videos of him there looked a good finisher, has a good left boot and free kick on him too, think he was being converted into a winger under kean and didnt suit his natural game

Not sure Souness ever did any molly coddling! He seemed more the type that would tell it to players straight whether they liked it or not. The players who respected him and were determined to improve thrived (Friedel, Tugay, Jansen, Duff etc), the players with a bit of an ego tended to fall out with him.

I think he came here as a striker but has never really been given a run in that position. We know he can strike a mean ball, and in a more advanced position he would be less likely to overrun it.

He could be a #10, but I think his best position is as a wide forward in a 4-3-3, That is a "proper" 4-3-3, where the two wide forwards play more like inside forwards than wingers, cutting inside etc.

Definitely. Coming through the ranks at Barca I imagine that's the sort of role he would have played. He could be lethal coming in from the right side onto his left foot.

Barca certainly wouldn't have had him in a 4-4-2, so whatever role people suggest for him in that formation isn't going to be his natural position.

He showed there natural ability with quick reactions, no thinking was needed. If he had the brains as well he would be at a higher level than Rovers.

This. I think pretty much any side in our division would have him, except maybe QPR.

If he had the footballing nous everyone's talking about he'd be in the division above.

I'd put him behind Rhodes in the #10 role. That killer pass away at P'boro for Rhodes's 2nd goal proves he'd be good there.

that game also showed the worst side of him his mucking about in his own half cost us a clean sheet tho i guess if your going to flog a goal 4or 5 up is the time to do it.
