Butty Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I thought the fixture list was announced at 9am on the 19th? thats tomorrow Derby v Rovers and Dingles v Notlob been announced for the championship opening day fixtures. Part of a 125th anniversary. All four clubs founding members of the FL.
bob fleming Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I thought the fixture list was announced at 9am on the 19th? thats tomorrow Here you go sausage... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jun/18/blackburn-football-league
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Real shame we are not facing either Burnley or Bolton, would have been a much better atmosphere.
Backroom Tom Posted June 18, 2013 Backroom Posted June 18, 2013 Wonder if they will want the clubs to wear old fashioned kits or similar for the occasion
sausagemandog Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Here you go sausage... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jun/18/blackburn-football-league cheers bob
Majiball Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Wonder if they will want the clubs to wear old fashioned kits or similar for the occasion Lets hope not that Derby kit is a right shocker.
Alan75 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Awesome Do you know the final score? What was the team ?
T.J.Newton Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Does anybody know how long into the sky sports coverage it will be before one of the presenters makes a smarmy ignorant comment directed towards rovers fans?
wilyrover Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 The big mistake the FL have made is having Rovers play Derby and Dingles play Notlobs. It should have been Derby v Bolton as this is the only fixture which could have been played which corresponded with the original matches of the first day of the Football League. None of the other surving 9 clubs who played each other that day are in the same division.
Backroom Mike E Posted June 18, 2013 Backroom Posted June 18, 2013 Will it also be West Brom vs Stoke, then? Even though they're PL, it'd still be cool to see it fit in.
bazza Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 just see them as very similar clubs.. Both have farming connections; tractors and rams. Derby v Rovers and Dingles v Notlob been announced for the championship opening day fixtures. Part of a 125th anniversary. All four clubs founding members of the FL. PNE v Wolves as well.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 This game should be at Ewood too..one of the oldest grounds in the Country not some cloned plastic palace!
Butty Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Both have farming connections; tractors and rams. PNE v Wolves as well. Yeah I was just referring too the championship games.
Backroom Tom Posted June 19, 2013 Backroom Posted June 19, 2013 Remember not to just copy and paste the fixture list here I know it wasn't allowed in the premier league not sure how the football league differs
perthblue02 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Bloody hell doesn't seem 25 years ago that the football league had that weekend bash at Wembley celebrating 100 years, what a great weekend that was. Might have wrongly remembered (no wasn't alive then ), but did Rovers not play their first ever league game on the same day as the others due to a postponement or something

Glenn Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Due to the draconian copyright rules that have previously been strongly enforced by Football Data Co (the rights owners for the fixture list) we can't display them here (without handing over a four figure sum), so as Tom says above, please don't cut and paste the full list here. I was hoping the Yahoo vs Football Data Co court battle would be concluded by now, but it isn't, so for now they are still somebody else's copyright. That said, they're on the front page of the official site, pretty decent set in my eyes, very few midweek long trips. Carlisle, Donny, Bournemouth, Brighton, Yeovil all do able new grounds for me. Would have preferred Yeovil away not to be just before Christmas, but I can live with that and Blackpool away in October isn't great either. Also, today is typically the time that BRFCS end's it's summer hiatus and starts focusing on stuff for the new season, so I better get my skates on.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Fuxtures are on www.rovers.co.uk for all to see. Dingles H March 8, Sheff Wed H Boxing Day, Leeds A NYD, Wigan H on last day.

Just a pity they don't hold the same draconian measures and interest or time allocation via contracted third party companies to who owns and runs football clubs, but hey ho cash is king and the most important thing to the Football League and the football Association Just out of interest as they do not hold copyright to dates or the words home or Away, so I presume club nicknames etc would this not be in breach of their cash cow 1 Feb home - Dingles 5 Feb away - owls of Sheffield
EPF Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 not a cat in hells chance that game with Burnley will be on a Saturday at 3pm. The police will already be plotting out how to make it even worse than previous games. Maybe, just this once, they could try something different like allowing us supporters to travel (police escort) on the train or by our own coaches.
