imy9 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 The gap is absolutely huge. Just makes it strange that a PL club signing players from the lower leagues around the world was championed by so many as the way forward. Working well so far innit! Aston Villa have done it and succeeded. Southampton and Norwich had the core of players from league 1 and championship and survived in the PL. It can and has been done but you need excellent scouts, managerial structure and patience to see the players develop.

cn174 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 latics getting beat 2-0 at half time at home to Doncaster
West Yorks Rover Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Nicko's other lad, wee Coyley is struggling now Wigan 0 Doncaster 2 latest Not over yet, but are Wigan as bad as us, or are Donny not a bad outfit.
chaddyrovers Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 maybe Doncaster are a better team than we thought they were. This league is so unpredictable. Wigan and Bolton both struggling. Think Bolton are at least 3 or 4 players short of even challenging for the playoffs spots
SoldierMo Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Dont say that wee dougie seems to be a genius with the deep pockets of uncle eddie
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 maybe Doncaster are a better team than we thought they were. This league is so unpredictable. Wigan and Bolton both struggling. davulsukur Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Nicko's other lad, wee Coyley is struggling now. Needs to bring Kean in as assistant manager. Gives a good presser etc.
neophox Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Wigan lost to Doncaster at home....1-2 Doncaster this year boogie team ala Peterborough.... Paul Dickov doing a great job on tight budget.... Theo Robinson seems a smashing signing...bargain £100.000

Think Bolton are at least 3 or 4 players short of even challenging for the playoffs spots Rovers are struggling chaddy so forget about the others for now.
Mercer Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 2-2 now Good comeback from Coyley's lads - 2-0 down proved far too much for us.
roverslee Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Good comeback from Coyley's lads - 2-0 down proved far too much for us. easier to come back from 2-0 down when playing at home, wigan still have europe to deal with, think they will finish mid table, especially whent hey sell a couple of there main players
West Yorks Rover Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Good comeback from Coyley's lads - 2-0 down proved far too much for us. Lucky, Donny ratted bar last minute.
bob fleming Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Yeah great. Well made up for wee coyley. /sarcasm off
Mercer Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Can't understand the ill feeling towards local rivals. Would love Rovers and two from Burnley, Bolton, Wigan & Blackpool to be promoted. Would be fantastic for N.W. football.

Would be fantastic for N.W. football. Not really ! Rovers promoted yes of course, as for the rest of em : - Lancashire United FC With a management trio of Steve Kean, and the two wee lads.
bob fleming Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Personally I've nowt against Blackpool other than they have that Father Dougalesque buffoon Ince in charge. Same with Wigan, and believe it or not I'm not really bothered about Bolton. I think what grates is the "coyley" and "wee dougie" references. One is an ex burnley manager and the other is from the same stable as our old chum wee Keano.

West Yorks Rover Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 What are the odds on wee Stevie getting the England womens' Job ? I bet he applies.
rovers11 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Wigan have now drawn at home to Doncaster and lost to Bournemouth. Surely this means coyle isn't the right man for the job and they are nailed on for relegation
Audax Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 So Rovers have lost to Forest who have 3 wins, alone at top of the league and to Doncaster who have only lost to Blackpool, draw Wigan. Wigan scored in the last minute to get the draw. I hope things get better....
Audax Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Early season table is rather meaningless, still, 6 points already outside of the playoff positions.
OJRovers Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Momentum is key in this league, there's nothing between any of the teams (everyone is poor quality) but the teams coming up have the winning mentality that relegated premiership teams have lost.
