You wonder how much pressure McDermott is under at Leeds, not exactly known for their patience at Elland Road. Wonder how long before one of these clubs come knocking for Dyche who must be championship manager of the season so far.

Well you never know, could happen and your lot could end up with ' wee Stevie Kean ' still looking for an opening, he'd be a 'fans favourite'

and he's certainly capable of hitting the ground running.

Wee Stevie is already a crowd favourite at the turf :-).

Ings has had admirers since we bought him, I think we had offers as soon as we bought him and there was a lot of interest before his second injury. vokes is interesting, never really happened for him before but he's getting a run now and looking better every game. Suspect both would get more interest than Rhodes simply because of the price tag he's carrying.

He's more capable of running things into the ground!

Burnley are ridiculous at the moment without too many players of real brilliance, organisation and good management gets you so far in this league and Blackpool have been similar

Either could do what Hull did

I'm very shocked by Derby sacking Clough. he has been there 4 years and was slowly building a very decent team. I do agree that Derby must have someone lined up for the job. I reckon it will be McClaren but most likely a manager who is out of work. maybe even Kean could be in with a shout.

I think clubs will be looking to change their manager if results don't pick up in the couple of games with a break after next weekend games due international football games will the ideal time to change. IMO, the clubs who will be doing this if next 2 results are good are Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton, Leeds, Middlesbrough and maybe Barnsley and Charlton aswell.

I wouldn't be shock to see Bolton sack Freedman and bring in Pulis as manager with Reid as number 2.

managers who aren't work at the minute are Pulis, McClaren, Kean, McLeish, Roy Keane, Pearce.

plus Managers doing well like Slade at Leyton Orient, Grayson at PNE and Robinson at MK at league 1 plus Terry Butcher at Inverness aswell.

Clough getting fired is indeed weird - perhaps something going on behind the scenes?

I bet Freedman - or dare I say "wee Dougie" - is fired either before or right after their match against highflying Blackpool on tuesday. Only managing a draw against Yeovil at home is by no means good enough (no insult towards Yeovil though...). Perhaps this will be the start of another manager-merry-go-round like last autumn? Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if someone in the championship decided to give Di Canio a chance. For some reason Bolton seems a good fit!

I doubt Paulo Di Canio will be going anywhere (except on holiuday) until his severance pay is resolved.

Good win Longsiders. Dyche seems to have what it takes at this level.

If you look at the fixture list, they've probably had their easiest start to the season regarding opponents, for quite a while. The test is when they play the teams around them and morale gets knocked down to size after a few defeats. October is a tougher month for them for sure.

Taking into account how we outplayed them in the second half at their place with all our flaws, I think they'll come unstuck personally as for the home team they looked average. And then there's the lack of depth in their squad.

I had a strange dream just a few days ago that Ince had been sacked by Oyston.

Give it a couple of months of his lip smacking positives and bringing in players for his own personal gain and you wouldn't be smiling (though if you're lucky you could end up with the new Chris Smalling). If he took a mid-table PL club down to being almost relegated in the Championship, imagine what he'd do to Burnley. You'd be out of the football league before Jerome Anderson could make a teary appearance on Sky Sports.

Not sure what that says for your team then, played at best similar standard of opposition and 8 points worse off? And you have a premier league infrastructure.

No question we've some tough October fixtures but I'm not sure there are any really easy fixtures in this league. We can only beat what is in front of us, we are second in the league and still in the league cup. It may be hard for you to see but our manager has done this without spending a penny, in fact whilst losing his top scorer, he deserves any plaudits currently coming his way. One final thing, yep it's getting tougher, yep our squad depth will bite and yep come the end of the season we will be doing well if we can manage top 10 but in this manager I've no doubt we have someone who absolutely knows how to get the maximum out of his squad.

It doesn't say a lot for my team because we've been systematically taken apart over the past 3 years by greedy agents and self serving personnel. We have a Premier League infrastructure but sadly none league owners. But I don't remember talking about my team, I was talking about yours as this thread is about other going's on in the Championship.

And okay, who exactly have you taken 3 points off who are in the top half of the table?

And who have you played in the top half and how many points did you manage?

Touchy touchy. I could ask you the same question but you don't want to talk about that, just a few years of bad owners. We had a decade of bad owners who took us to the verge of non league football, I know all about it. You still have players on, so the rumours say, 20, 30 and 40K a week, still paying 8 million for players.

I can't remember where everybody was when we played them but I think Derby and Leeds were top half when we played them - as were Brighton where we lost.

I suppose Tuesday will give a good relative comparison between the 2 teams because we play Doncaster away. As I've said, I don't think there is an easy fixture in this league, not for us anyway. I'm delighted with our start and if we can end October with another 4-6 points I'll be more than content

I see Michael Appleton odds for the Derby County manager job have coming from 50/1 this morning to 6/1 now. Still third favourite tho. McClaren s evens odds and the current favourite with Pulis second favourite.

I think McClaren will become the Derby County manager given that he is a past player there and was on the coaching staff there in the 90's when Jim Smith was manager.

on the subject of Burnley, Ings and Vokes are doing well at the minute but what happen if they get injury, do they have the strength in depth to replace them?

only 9 games gone but a very tough 3 months of games coming up for all teams and come Christmas we will have better idea who will challenging for promotion and will be looking to survival from relegation. But I will said that in the championship there is NO EASY games in the league at all. very enjoyable league to watch

Wigan seems to be struggling at the minute and both of their strikers(Holt and Forture) are injured so not scoring the goals to win games. was a lot of pundit tip for automatic promotion but seem far away from that

The only thing touchy touchy is you with your sister who is also your uncle.

And again what has our lot got to do with discussing your start? I was talking to a Burnley supporting mate not so long ago and he said the biggest problem with Burnley fans (he doesn't live there so he only comes into contact with them on match days) is that you can't have a conversation about Burnley without them bringing up Blackburn Rovers. He said it really annoys him as it makes Rovers appear like some kind of benchmark but yet most Burnley fans can't comprehend that. You prove him right consistently.

And in any case Steve Kean signed some terrible players. Myles Anderson could have been on more than quarter of your squad combined but that doesn't mean he's any better than any of them. That's more of a handicap than signing a terrible player on a terrible wage if anything.

Derby and Leeds top half? I'm talking about now that things have leveled out a bit. The fact is have the majority of difficult games coming up and that'll be the test. The other tests will be if you get any injuries with a threadbare squad and if you can keep your best players in January.

The original point I was making is that it's going to get a lot tougher for you lot as the season progresses, which you're agreeing with. So I don't know what you're blathering on about.

Pulis would be the best man for them just as Allardyce was for us. Lives close, no compensation to pay, experience of success in the Championship and wouldn't demand a fortune in spending money. However lets hope 1st Appleton and 2nd Maclaren get the job.

With FFP in the championship, not sure that Derby will be able to afford the wages that Pulis or McClaren would want - massive drop from prem wages. Pulis especially could hold out for a premiership team (Sunderland?)

looks like Derby have approached QPR for McClaren were he is on their coaching staff under Redknapp.

I defo don't see Sunderland even considering Pulis for their Head Coach job there. I don't think Poyet will get it either. I think they might let Kevin Ball continue for a few games and see how it work out.

Derby County are looking to appoint a director of football with a head coach in a management structure change there. Looking like McClaren as head coach there. abit strange but might explained why Clough was sacked tho
