Dyche has had to work with what he has. I haven't seen a harder working team in this division.

Whether we can hang on in the top 6 is hard to predict, a lot of good, well resourced teams doing well and January is on the horizon where we will be fighting to keep hold of Ings, Trippier and Shackell. And then there is the managerial merry go round, Dyche is certain to be gathering admirers!

Only 10 more points to safety though and a slim chance of making the play-offs. Been a fantastic season for us so far, just hope we can maintain it.

For the last two months I forecast that Leicester City would finish the season as champions.

I have changed my mind.

Steve McLaren's form at Middlesbrough and Twente proves he has what it takes to be a successful manager whereas Nigel Pearson doesn't seem to be in the same class.

I forecast Derby County to win this league by a mile.

It's a pity that Steve Kean wasn't replaced by McLaren at the time. That's not to say I'm not happy with GB now. I am, very much.

I'll give him credit, he's doing brilliantly at Derby, but haven't they got something of a head coach and D of F set up? Perhaps he does best in that sort of thing, where he can coach, and not worry so much about dealing with contracts, scouting potential players etc.

What was his excuse as England manager?

Might be a good idea at Ewood that kind of set-up, but we've got Lofty.

' Director of Everything ' and nowt looks like changing, despite the promises.

Still sounds like we've got a good trolley/stretcher/mobile shelving unit.

Looked like it was made with left over bits from a Victorian Fire tender to me. No doubt H&S don't want stretcher bearers to rick their backs. Isn't max lift for a grown man 25kg or similar these days?

yeah think it is about 25kg,or grown woman probably, we must remember to be PC about these things.

Just had a thought, perhaps it was shipped in from India they still run Victorian trains over there don't they ?

Surely it would have been a tuk tuk then?

btw The only thing PC means to me is Police Constable. Is there some obscure meaning that I am not aware of?

Was well impressed with B@@@ley on Saturday. First time I've seen them since we played them but they looked like a team with good spirit who can score goals. They were well out of it in 1st half but could have easily won in the end. Good bet for top 6 definitely.

There interview with Dyche really impressed me. Didn't put him down as an intelligent bloke but he certainly came across that way.

It shows that there are good managers out there who you don't have to spend the earth on.

Don't think WHU will go down, though they'll definitely be down there. Also can't see Derby going up, but in this division who knows?

Who would you rather be:

A manager who has worked at the top for 30 years and never won a thing OR a manager at the top for 5 years and you win the cup and the league?

The name of the game in football is winning and that transpires into trophies. For me if i worked at the top level all my career and never won anything I'd be gutted as it would mean I was never the best not even once. That would frustrate the hell out of me.

In 100 years time McClarens name will still be on those trophies, Sam's will have been forgotten unless he can match his words with actions.

If you measure success solely by trophies then yeah, McClaren has had a more successful career than Allardyce. To an extent it's a perfectly valid criteria, but there are other measurements of success which Allardyce could point to in his defence. Is McClaren considered a better manager than Allardyce right now? I wouldn't say so, and I think their current positions prove that.

Unless either of them become our manager in future, however, I don't really care too much.

You cared enough to reply, twice.

What are these measures of success you mention that are better than trophies? Is it how many times you've applied to be England manager and failed? Aye Sam's winning that one.

Didn't super Sam have to take his last job in the championship and then get them promoted to enable him to be a premier league manager? Isn't that exactly what McClaren is doing right now? Sam had them falling over his feet when we canned him and he ended up in exactly the same place as McClaren, point mute.
