I thought Watford looked a good side when we beat them 1-0 up at our place. Both sides played very well on the night imo and they tried to play far more football than many of the sides we've faced whose primary objective seems to be trying to muscle you out of the game.

In this League maybe that's where they've been going wrong but I'm still surprised they've struggled so badly recently.

any manager/head coach going to take over of Watford will have to accept that he doesn't buy the players that Watford Director of football Nani job.

cant see Holloway accepting this. wasn't this a problem when Holloway had talks with Shaw and Shebby

I expecting Watford to go for overseas manager

I doubt Dyche is that stupid - plus I'm sure he's hoping to keep it going at our gaff long enough to get an offer from a bigger club. West Brom would have suited him but I'd guess its come up just a little early - plus again having seen them bag Clarke off fairly unceremoniously maybe he'd not want to rush in there either

Oh and stop touting our manager for every job that comes up! ^_^

Dream on. If a Prem club came a calling he's off. By definition and through necessity football managers have huge ego's and short memories.

Not only that but if he's fairly sure one or more of his players is leaving for bigger things in January he would be a fool not to grab that sort of opportunity cos they dont come around all that often. Lose those two up front and Burnley would drop like a stone and whilst it would be no fault of his he'd drop right off the Prem radar.

Did you learn nowt from the Coyle episode?

Another one predicting our impending doom - many did when we sold Austin. You still have Rhodes but it isn't exactly putting you at the top is it?

The Coyle episode taught me one thing - trust a footie manager preaching loyalty less than you would a politician with your money. I've no doubt Dyche will go as soon as the right opportunity comes along, I doubt it will be West Brom because I don't think they will be willing to take a punt on someone with such a limited CV right now. Certainly no ill will from me if he makes a move but I'm hoping we can hold on to him until at least summer

I doubt Dyche will be going anywhere before season's end, depending on how well he does with Burnley, he will no doubt end up with a PL job.

Problem is, the financial risks in football are that massive now, chairmen have zero patience. AVB though won't be whingeing with his £5Million severance pay.....

Don't worry, our luck must run out soon, I mean it's lasted 21 games now. :-)

It's nothing to do with luck Longsiders.

The only consolation for us rovers fans watching your lot at the top of the league, is that every silver lining has a bloody huge cloud behind it. We'll ignore you this season, then if you do go up, take huge delight watching you hammered week in, week out next season.

Merry Christmas Longsiders.

Who would you rather be:

A manager who has worked at the top for 30 years and never won a thing OR a manager at the top for 5 years and you win the cup and the league?

I'd prefer the manager whose worked at the top for 30 years.

Football is a business. Maintaining a consistent PL status is far more valuable than a trophy or two in the cabinet.

Times are hard garners and they are struggling to tempt people back. Don't know what prices are at yours but it's damn expensive at ours and people just don't have it. That said I'm surprised they haven't picked up more than they have.

For all the talk of teams at the top going up I suspect a tough transfer window may well put paid to our top 6 ambitions.

You've built up a healthy lead over 6th, Longsiders, and you'd have to go on an abysmal run of form to drop out of it entirely in the next few months imo. If Ings and Dyche go then it's possible, but otherwise I think you have a great chance of making the playoffs :(

His managerial style seems to be completely at odds with his physical appearance. I'd be amazed if he doesn't carve out a fantastic career for himself - starting with taking us up :-)

A massive thirteen points ahead of Blackburn with a plus goal difference of sixteen goals at the same stage, shows just who's got their house in order this season.
