rovers11 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It's probably more likely to be a semi final between us if anything with us in 6th and them 3rd setting up a horrible two legged affair in which only people with a clean driving licence are allowed to attend after going through 18 police checkpoints and arriving at the ground 2 days before Can you imagine a play off final or semi final between Rovers and Burnley. What a way that would be to end their losing streak against Rovers. They are getting closer and closer to beating us so wouldn't fancy playing them in the play offs if we got there.

thenodrog Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 - but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be a touch disappointed if we missed out on the play offs now (assuming we don't sell this January!)Only the following 2 scenarios would guarantee that ............. 1. Dyche is nicked by a bigger club and you replace him with Paul Ince. 2. A bunch of clueless Asians buy your club and take advice from a crooked spiv on the take. It's probably more likely to be a semi final between us if anything with us in 6th and them 3rd setting up a horrible two legged affair in which only people with a clean driving licence are allowed to attend after going through 18 police checkpoints and arriving at the ground 2 days before.... for the 7am kick off.Finished it for you Tom
bazza Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I don't think we will bottle it. We might get caught out by our squad size however! On the board, interesting one really. The current chairmen (yep, we've 2) haven't been in this position before so it is hard to be sure what they will do. At this point they've found 750K for Barnes. I read the comment earlier about Brighton fans views on him but online forums suggest a much more split stance - maybe something of a marmite player but his attributes seem to be right in with Dyches thinking. Whether we can keep Ings will depend firstly on whether we get any serious offers first. Nothing so far and lets hope it stays that way. On Dyche, I don't think wonders covers it, he's close to working miracles right now but it is the players who cross that line each week so they deserve plenty of credit. Crowds are still kean though, they are really struggling to get people back through the turnstiles. As for will we bottle on 34 years again? Who knows, we find out soon enough! Well your best chance of beating us came last season and you didn't take it (thanks to Dunny and a blind linesman). Then you had a better chance of beating us at your midden but, thanks to my hero (see my signature), it wasn't to be. So in March you come to our midden and try again. Can you do it? All the pressure is on you. Aye our good manager may well be away soon enough but I doubt he'll be sacked by inept owners and replaced with the tea boy :-) Message for Sam Dingle. Where is Cool Claret these days? I miss her posts. It's probably more likely to be a semi final between us if anything with us in 6th and them 3rd setting up a horrible two legged affair in which only people with a clean driving licence are allowed to attend after going through 18 police checkpoints and arriving at the ground 2 days before Plus Thenodrog's "for a 7am kick off" is the best post I've read in months. Keep the home fans smiling
longsiders1882 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Pressure on us bazza? Ask me nearer the time, pressure only comes with the importance of the game. Truth be told we haven't played for anything that really mattered much (beyond bragging rights) since Stans days. Sure 3 points on offer but in and of themselves they didn't matter that much at the time. This one might be different for both of us, could be really important points for both of us. Don't get me wrong, I'm desperate to end the streak but I'm far more concerned about trying to get promotion - and putting a dent in your hopes at the same time would be nice
rovers11 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Blackburn Rovers @OneRovers13m Our game against Burnley at Ewood Park on Sunday 9th March has been selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports. Kick-off remains at 12.30pm
longsiders1882 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I don't know why they are bothering, likely to be another damp squib of a game with a low attendance if the Turf game is anything to go by with neither home nor away ends sold out - though I guess there could be more interest if we are both still fighting in and around the top 6
Jimmy612 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Leeds Vs Leicester has been a cracking first 10 minutes. Each team hit the post, Leeds had one cleared off the line. McCormack is a player btw. Like him a lot.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Watching this game and its hard to differentiate between who is the top form side!
RevidgeBlue Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 "Wee Dougie" playing a blinder today. Bolton 4-0 down after 41 mins at Reading.
rovers11 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Will this be the end of Freedman today? Done a poor job there.
CapeTownRover Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 would be surprised to see both wee Dougie, and the self proclaimed guv still in a job at the end of this
RevidgeBlue Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Blackpool 2-0 down at Barnsley now. That would be nine defeats out of ten I think.
Jimmy612 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Blackpool 2-0 down at Barnsley now. That would be nine defeats out of ten I think. According to a BFC messageboard a group of fans moved to the side of the tunnel to berate/protest against Ince being in charge. Tom Ince went over to confront them and Barry Ferguson had to go over and push him away from it all. Is Blackpool known as a racist club/town/area? According to some, that is the only reason you would sack one of the most hopeless managers I've ever come across Ince out
chaddyrovers Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I reckon both Freedman and Ince will both be sack come midweek. Both set of fans are very unhappy now. here is what the Blackpool Evening gazette reporter at the Blackpool game tweeted William Watt @WillWatt 22 mins Ugly scenes at full time. Poor performance on the field. Not good enough. 2-0 FT here is a pic from OneDaveBamber @onedavebamber 37 mins Maybe they just want Paul Ince’s autograph? pic.twitter.com/HMF34ggyz9
LDRover Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I've heard that the semi famous Wednesday fan Tango man got stabbed at Burnley today. Apparently it was in retaliation for Wednesday fans turning over the miners club and a 7 year old being glassed in the ruck. Poor form from all concerned.

Apparently it was in retaliation for Wednesday fans turning over the miners club and a 7 year old being glassed in the ruck. Poor form from all concerned. Mm, I've got a seven year old grandson. Would I take him to places like that on match day. Err, No.
chaddyrovers Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Look like Paul Ince is a goner now from Blackpool accordung to reports and Sky Sports News.
Backroom DE. Posted January 19, 2014 Backroom Posted January 19, 2014 Another successful managerial stint for the Guv'nor.
Gav Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 We could have saved Oyston all the trouble, he only needed to ask.
RevidgeBlue Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Look like Paul Ince is a goner now from Blackpool accordung to reports and Sky Sports News. On the Sky Sports website it only says he's had discussions with Oyston as they look to stop the rot etc. as far as I can see. Have you been reading too many of your hero Nicko's articles Chaddy? Lol.
Guest Norbert Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Nothing about Ince today. Perhaps Oyston is waiting for the window to end, so he can sell Ince Jnr., bin Ince Snr. and not have to give the new manager the opportunity to buy anyone.
thenodrog Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Rum do really. Last week it was reported that Monaco were after Tom Ince and that he and his Dad had flown over to negotiate a contract with them. How does that one work?
Guest Norbert Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Dad his agent as well? I can't see Paul being too interested in the details of negotiating a contract. Judging by his tactical nous, it would be an A4 sheet of paper with '£££££' scribbled on it. Maybe Oyston has asked him to persuade Tom to move, so he can get the money ASAP. Then Paul would have done enough to keep his job.
Blue blood Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Just seen an article about Blackpool with Oyston pouring petrol on the fire. Included in it are some gems like: - he'll never listen to the fans or the mob as he calls them regarding managers - Chopra is an idiot, the money he's been fined will be better off away from him, and he's not surprised at Chopra's behavior as he has a history of trouble. Seems a bit stupid to stick the knife into the fans and a player. Can't help the situation.
