Before each game over the last few years I've thought - " Well the Dingles will never have a better chance of beating us than they have now ". Each time I think " We've never been so weak on and off the field as we are now, certainly since the 1970's ". Guess what, each time you don't take advantage of those weaknesses. My theory why - the pressure Burnley fans put on their players is too much for them to carry. Fans like you are the monkey on their backs.

On current form you'll go into the next game as favourites, can your players carry that load ? We'll soon find out.

I'm not convinced that is true of the last couple of games - where you have had some real luck. I actually think the reverse may be true and in fact your squad have raised their game for the fixtures - probably with Dunny threatening to eat players who don't perform.

As for can our squad take the pressure? No idea, pressure is building every week regardless of this fixture. They are fighting at the top end with other very good, very well financed teams biting at their heels. I don't think this game will be any more pressured than the ones leading up to it or the ones following it because right now every game has a massive impact upon how the season will end for us.

Meeting in the play offs looking more and more likely .....

I have been quietly impressed with Burnley this season, organised, hard-working and determined, with some talented and skillful players thrown in as well. Shown some real belief and courage at times, which in part is testimony to their manager who has impressed all season.

Your results, performances and league position this season have highlighted our lasting stupidity in waxing 8 million on a single player and spending 30k+ a week in salaries on many others. I presumed most knew we needed honest grafters in this division with the energy to play at a fast pace twice a week, supplemented by a smattering of quality, but our insightful owners knew better and coupled with the Scottish cretin lumbered us with further dross, at very big money.

If we achieve the play-offs it will be a decent achievement after all that has gone before, but I cannot get too carried away recognising the money we are spending and the size of our squad. If Burnley make the play-offs that will be a tremendous achievement as most including many Burnley fans had you down for a season of struggle.

I can't see you beating us at Ewood. Not being biaised, its always tough going away and Rovers will be up for it that day.

Oh dear. I really wish our fans wouldn't post stuff like this because there is usually the opposite outcome.

Its only an opinion WP. My view on here really won't affect the outcome of the match, promise!!

What will be will be and in my humble opinion Rovers will have enough to avoid defeat in this game at the very least.

I was certainly one expecting a tough season - certainly expected bottom 6 much more than top 6.

As for can we win at yours? Well of course we can, we've got the team to do it BUT it is away which is never easy and you have a team more than capable of beating anybody else in this league. A draw seems the most likely outcome but this is football and no result would surprise me, us hammering you, you hammering us and everything in between.

No difference. Too many buying a football club for non footballing reasons.

Most are, the most eminent but under the radar being the Glaizers.

It needn't have been this way if only those who were supposed to protect our heritage had taken steps to do so.

The prudent would have reinvested some of the wealth to ensure longevity and ensure that football in England remained the most sought after.

Does it make a difference if a player earns £3 million a year as opposed to £5million? The multiples of £2 million could have been reinvested in the game's infrastructure and grass roots in England and ensured a bright future for the game in this country.

Such greed and lack of sense or prudence would not have happened in Germany and it galls me to say that.

FFP has made it virtually impossible to buy a football club for anything other than business reasons.

The big clubs don't want another Jack Walker coming along and spoiling their dominance (or Sheik Mansoor).

I can't see us meeting in the playoffs. We've too much to do and we're not consistent enough.

The fraudster Massimo Cellino is said to be on the verge of completing his takeover of Leeds United tonight.

The contrast between England and Germany over club ownership rules could not be more stark. In Germany most clubs must have 50 per cent plus one share owned by its members to maximise the likelihood of stability. This rules out the potential for spivs, crooks and opportunists owning their football clubs.

Instead England allows its clubs to be owned by pretty much anyone . While things have got better I think it's useful to remember what Sir Dave Richards, ex-chairman of the Premier League, told the DCMS inquiry into football governance in 2011. When asked why the Fit and Proper Persons test wasn't properly implemented during the Portsmouth fiasco, Sir Dave responded that "he couldn't be bothered".

That's right - he couldn't be bothered. With managers like this, it explains why football and this country in general is in its current parlous state.

I peeked in at a Leeds forum board. Though most were upset or sceptical about Cellino as human nature would have it, others had counter opinions stating the man is swimming in money and that that would be good for the club.

This story indicates the sale has been finalised though they will have to still satisfy the test. Of course, the Beeb is not reporting that the club has been bought.

It's interesting that per the story, the big Serie A club Cagliari was sold.

http://int.soccerway.com/news/2014/February/08/leeds-united-sold-to-cellino/n262033/

Cellino owned Serie A club Cagliari since 1992, before selling the Italian outfit on Thursday.
