I'm not sure I think they currently look on course for 2nd but if they lose out at the death it might unnerve them going into the playoffs

However they look like the most consistent team around and just can't see them having a bad run of form

I wouldn't want to play them even if they weren't our ugly neighbours

Looks almost critical for our hopes so many more consistent teams above us and we never look like going on the sort of run that allows us to break the top 6, we're too conservative at times

Let's hope we can have another crack at it next season

This season was our chance Tom. I can't believe the division will be as poor next term.

Yep we're out of it now, even Ipswich will be well clear if they beat Blackpool at home on Sat.

Burnley win, back up to second. Bolton will be looking VERY nervously over their shoulders. 5 points clear of bottom 3, and all teams below them have games in hand...

Jesus. Talk about positive thinking from some. Its pathetic sometimes.

In spite of tonight's results we are still only 4 points off the play-offs. Nearer than we were this time last week. There are 48 points left to play for.

Whilst the doom and gloom mongers on here have already written our season off with a third of it left to play do you think supporters of clubs like Wigan and Leeds have thrown in the towel and are now worrying about next season instead?

As a rough marker, this time last season Bolton were fifth bottom. They missed out on the play offs by one point.

We still have to play QPR, Burnley, Wigan, Brighton, Leicester and Ipswich at home. Whilst our away games appear to be mainly against the sides in the bottom half.

No season ever ends in February. Whilst I don't personally think we will get in the play-offs, it can happen. I just wish there was a bit more positivity from some. At least one team always starts to falter and drops away, whilst there is always at least one team who comes with a good run.

Its impossible to compare Dyche to Bowyer. Dyche has been a manager for longer, has had nowhere near the turmoil to deal with that Bowyer has. Bowyer has had to build his own squad from scratch in a short space of time whilst Dyche has inherited a settled squad put together over a number of years. Oh, and lets just remember, Dyche hasn't achieved anything yet. If they go up then well done, but you don't win anything being second at this stage.

And if people want Bowyer to emulate what Dyche has done, they would do well to remember that the main reason Burnley have been doing so well this season has been because of their defensive organisation and solidarity. Very rarely do they give a lead away. Supporters were moaning at Dyche last season for being negative. So all those having a go at Bowyer for not being adventurous enough could do with paying more attention to the fabulous model Burnley have followed.

That's what happens when you take a knife to a gun fight. Just the Dingles game to play for this season.

Don't worry if we win at Reading we'll all be up again, who knows they may give away a penalty after 9 mins and have a player

sent-off, like they did last week, that's football !
