Proudtobeblue&white Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 They are a cancer within the body of Blackburn Rovers FC. Like any cancer the longer it goes untreated the more chance there is of it killing the patient. Aye, they should donate £50m to the doctor that saves us, what a philanthropic thing to do!

longsiders1882 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Aye and in which case i am struggling to see how next year represents a better chance for us to get promoted than this year. Its a bang average division this year (Burnley have done well so far but come on...hardly a top team) and 3 will come down with massive Parachutes. It might become obvious at that point just how badly we have been managed as a club for the last 2 years to those that fail to see the obvious and put the spotlight on just how we did p1ss away our own parachute advantage. Been top 2 or 3 nearly all season - what makes you a top team? Is it that, or perhaps having one of europes top scoring strike partnerships? Maybe it is being unbeaten at home in 19 games, or perhaps having lost only 3 so far this season? I know it can be hard, believe me I really do, but sometimes it is better to just give credit where it's due rather than appearing churlish because your nearest and dearest are currently faring considerably better than you :-)

But remember you are celebrating on a Rovers site....
darrenrover Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Aye, they should donate £50m to the doctor that saves us, what a philanthropic thing to do! Absolutely spot on, and then some
longsiders1882 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Moral high ground there! But remember you are celebrating on a Rovers site.... I'm guessing my tongue being firmly in my cheek didn't come across well in print.
ABBEY Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Being a dingle the tongue is in some part else
USABlue Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 My point is that I suspect that they've understood their mistakes and are now quietly going about attempts to rectify it. I dont think they are trying to rectify anything. A phone call to Mr Williams might be seen as an attemot to rectify, no more like they are just trying to not screw up so badly. We will never recover from the damage they have done. I always thought eventually we would slide down the leagues I just never thought it would be so dramatically. Bit like having a mechanic work on your Ferrari that wasnt running and being happy cos now it runs like a VW beetle. Being a dingle the tongue is in some part else [/quote Having his head up his arse I am not sure which cheek his tongue might be in.
Leonard Venkhater Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I'm guessing my tongue being firmly in my cheek didn't come across well in print. Ha! That's the problem with a message board, but in present times, it was a like you were going to a family funeral and saying the deceased was a bit of a tosser!

Leonard Venkhater Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Wasn't the intention - I've been to a few of those mind I know. I can see you are too much of a gentleman for that. I was even wondering whether David Niven could have been a Burnley fan!
longsiders1882 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 David Niven? No we don't bother with low rent toffs - we go right to the top and the future king Charles :-)
Leonard Venkhater Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 David Niven? No we don't bother with low rent toffs - we go right to the top and the future king Charles :-) Future Sun headline: Burnley Fan killed Diana
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 David Niven? No we don't bother with low rent toffs - we go right to the top and the future king Charles :-) Yeah, that's a strange combination. Not as bad as Rovers and The Iron Lady though. If I'd have had a season ticket I would have sent it back. Was that the only time she ever visited Blackburn ?

If I'd have had a season ticket I would have sent it back. Was that the only time she ever visited Blackburn ?Margaret Thatcher. Generally acclaimed far and wide across the world to have been this country's finest post war leader. Do you never begin to question your own judgement Tyrone? I think you should if only to try and regain some credibility, unless of course you are quite happy to have painted yourself into that corner. More like: Burnley Fan Sets Fire To Camilla's Dress Whilst picking up Charles Fish and chip supper with the obligatory tub of guacamole!
yoda Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 David Niven? It was only this past week that Milliband said he wanted to govern like Thatcher!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Royal families do tend to be inbred It was only this past week that Milliband said he wanted to govern like Thatcher! Yeah, he would. That's problem with the current Labour Party, no bloody idea. If he means " Reward your friends and punish your enemies " like she did that would be great but the trouble is he probably doesn't.
jim mk2 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Margaret Thatcher. Generally acclaimed far and wide across the world to have been this country's finest post war leader. Speak for yourself. There are hundreds of thousands of people who suffered as a result of her policies. She was far too divisive. Like many Rovers fans I was embarrassed and angry when the club made her a VP. I thought it was insensitive towards the many Rovers fans who paid a high price (and continue to this day) for the destruction she caused to the north of England economy.

Labour had a chance to reverse the policies, it always intrigues me why they didn't, (I know the answer really)
jim mk2 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Politics had shifted to the centre ground but that's a different debate. The point is, Rovers should be embarrassed in my opinion to have Thatcher's name associated with the club. I do not know who made the decision (Jack Walker?) but he should be ashamed of himself. Anyway, back to the championship and Burnley's quest to show that Lancashire town clubs with decent folk in charge can give the so-called bigger clubs a run for their considerably more money.

The real answer is they agreed with the policy but could not be seen to agree, better to let someone else take the blame for time immemorial
Guest Norbert Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 F_ck Thatcher and all that sh_t, Harry is trying to get Morrison on loan from the Whammers. Is he starting to worry that his squad of 100 players might not get him up? That his reputation is in jeopardy?

But by top team i mean someone who will breeze up and really cause a stir in the PL next year. And whatever world famous striking duo you think Ings and Vokes are believe me fella you aint able to do anything like hold your own next year in the PL -oh hang on you havent got there yet have you??? Now nob off and get on your own Message board or can nobody write in Dinglesville?

A very revealing statement. Wont reflect very well on you on here and around these parts will it Wilpshire Blue? Might be wrong but I though it was pre Jack Walker. If it was JW then he might have been Sir Jack mightn't he?
