West Yorks Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 All the pressure will be on Lofty now, can he take it ? I reckon he'll be gone very shortly anyway. We can only hope they have learned a few lessons and actually employ someone of the right calibre and character. For God sake Venky's if your'e reading this, please do the right thing for once.
JAL Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Who's going to chair the trust that Paul Agnew was supposedly leading. Should be interesting to see if theres any work done in this area now that hes left.
Boner Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 On a serious note. Paul is an individual with a family and a living to be made from his reputation and is therefore easily libelled. I'm just hypothesizing here, but I imagine the club would have been against him brining action against fans, but he is now just an individual with no such pressure Please, think before posting. Glenn's right, I'd like to lead the praise. Homer Simpson Paul Agnew is a... brilliant man with lots of well thought-out, practical, ideas. He is insuring the financial security of this company for years to come. Oh yes, and his personal hygiene is above reproach.
West Yorks Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Well it appears that Agnew was in Portugal (info from Mark Fish), which if true then he was at the Football League AGM, which is taking place in Portugal when he found out that he had been sacked! Excellent! Do you think Kamy, there is any chance the he announced the season ticket deal without waiting for final permission.
bob fleming Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Do you think Kamy, there is any chance the he announced the season ticket deal without waiting for final permission. That could well be it. That pesky sign off process. We should have been grateful to have had such forward thinkers and footballing administrators as Agnew and Shaw, their reputation throughout the game, and indeed the press, is legendary. Without them the club would get nothing done and we'd have been relegated from the Premier League months ago. Then again Desai might well have woken up a bit grumpy and just decided to sack him. Who knows?

Roverall Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I hope there are greater rumblings afoot than the usual Venky's game of deckchair shuffling. So, exactly what was Paul Agnew's role in the takeover?
Lancs Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Well it appears that Agnew was in Portugal (info from Mark Fish), which if true then he was at the Football League AGM, which is taking place in Portugal when he found out that he had been sacked! Excellent! If true, you would have to say it was planned. Which begs a few more questions. Oh dear. Not a good advert for the next person. Unless...
bob fleming Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Lets hope she wakes up grumpy again tomorrow and sacks Shaw then. It's normally the chickens who get it but when she's in this mood anything could happen, put it this way the pot collector in Blues Bar has booked the weekend off. Which is just as well as that would be a bigger loss.
joey_big_nose Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Glad to see him go, but somewhat appeensive about who are we going to get in. Anyone at all?
broadsword Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Lets hope she wakes up grumpy again tomorrow Nah, let him sleep.
blue_n_white99 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Fat nobender next then scabby minge and turds at top.lets hope it's police led .. Send em down. +1
West Yorks Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 If true, you would have to say it was planned. Which begs a few more questions. Oh dear. Not a good advert for the next person. Unless... Or maybe he's been speaking out of turn at the meeting and someone did'nt like it.
Exiled in Toronto Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Perhaps the cosnpiracy theorists could fill us in on how this supports the two owners / Shagnew unsackable theory that was all but proved by Shaw coming back from India intact?
OJRovers Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Jordan Rhodes is meant to be unsure about dressing room interference. I remember Glen hinting at Agnew trying to interfere. Maybe this is an attempt to appease the players?
Lancs Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Or maybe he's been speaking out of turn at the meeting and someone did'nt like it.And all men kill the thing they loveBy all let this be heard Some do it with a bitter look Some with flattering word The coward does it with a kiss The brave man with a sword (Some whilst they are out of the way in a different country at a meeting representing the people who are about to kill them). After all that, it will probably be just another rumour gone mad. =))
West Yorks Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 If Agnew was as unpopular down at Ewood as were led to believe, there will be a lot of smiling faces around the ' Grand old club ' today !
T.J.Newton Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I see Sly sports are making Agnew out to be a brfc stalwart, there saying he's 'left' after being here for 17 years! which im sure is no way true(and it doesn't mention most of his time here until the venkys arrival has been in menial jobs), it also makes out that he's solely responsible for the season ticket offer. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11676/8762762 if people want to boycott, then why not boycott sly sports(or sky as a whole), a channel full off presenters, reporters and pundits/has-beens that have continually criticised the fans and only shown us in a bad light whilst they spurt out agnew/kean/Anderson/sem propaganda.(if sky where to lose 1000s of subscribers in a single area they would have to address the issue somehow)
thenodrog Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 As good as this is something doesn't add up Less than a week ago he was announced as chairman of the community trust now this ? Rather baffling. Could they be clearing the decks as a condition of sale perhaps.
West Yorks Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 ? Rather baffling. Could they be clearing the decks as a condition of sale perhaps. Don't be getting our hopes up. For a new man coming in perhaps.
thenodrog Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Don't worry. I cant ever even begin to second guess what the owners will do next.
West Yorks Rover Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Don't worry. I cant ever even begin to second guess what the owners will do next. I would normally say I doubt they know either, but maybe they will surprise us with some good news. I must try to be optimistic for a change, bloody hard with this lot !
