For those saying the useless Goodwillie never got a chance, have we not seen and watched him in training most days for the last two years or so? Pretty simple why he was never played really. He is one of the worst strikers I've ever seen at Ewood and a total waste of time and money. Thick, unprofessional young idiot with drink and anger issues.

What a ridiculous thing to say. It's impossible for you to know any of that.

Not really willing to pick out an isolated incident on it's own (cos we've all had similar at some time or other) but that late night Glasgow vid was rather damning.

However I do have some sympathy with Goodwillie cos the big bloke in the white hoodie that he sparked out had sidled up and launched a cowardly attack on his mate at the start of the action. (I bet said big bloke thinks twice before launching such a cowardly attack again.)

This is a shortened and tbh quite humerous version......

So we need to be at training now everyday to have a view?

No Abbey, I'm saying that management watched him everyday and chose not to select him. He can't have impressed much.

Anyone wanting any evidence he is a fool, just google him.

It's Glasgow, I think it's considered a shock if you don't have a fight there on a night out. (I've never been mind.)

Reminds me of a Jim Watt Quote. One of his world championship fights had been scheduled for a 3am start to accommodate American TV. When asked by a reporter if this would affect him he replied " Of course I don't mind the fight being at three in the morning, everyone in Glasgow fights at three in the morning."

On Goodwille, he had five different managers and none of them thought he could the business.

Goodwillie wasn't great but you can't really say he had a proper chance, sub appearances and playing on the right wing is mostly what he did get. Whether or not he was good in training we don't know, but Houston was hardly wrong in what he said.

He obviously was good in Scotland, good enough to win young player of the year and for Rangers to want to sign him.

He wouldn't make a good partner for Rhodes though, and he didn't look the sort to play upfront on his own so it's not surprising to see him leave. Personally I'd prefer him to remain as back up to JR rather DJ Campbell, who isn't suited to playing with Rhodes either.

According to Dundee United manager Peter Houston (who?), Rovers ruined David Goodwillie.

No Peter, David ruined himself by being a porky, penguin footed donkey who couldn't cut it in a superior league or even the one below that!

He's right in so much that playing Goodwillie out of position didn't help. I mean he was pretty rubbish up front, but on the wing he was even worse.

Having said that whilst he was played out of position a fair amount and that didn't help, whenever he played up front he also looked pretty useless. His inability to run for starters means he's never going to be an asset in any position. Another crap Kean signing.

On this bar Larsson when did the last high scoring SPL player make a successful move to England? All the ones I can think of flopped horribly.

only time he got a decent run was after yakubu got suspended for a red card against fulham. and he scored 3 goals.

when yakubu came back he went back to bench.

Viduka, Jelavic and Steven Fletcher are the only recent ones to have made an impact in the Prem that I can think of. Jelavic looks to have suffered from second season syndrome but he's still a decent player.

I still haven't calmed down from what he did against Brighton at home this season. It was the 97th minute or something, he had been on the pitch less than 5, hadn't touched the ball yet, then did one of the most stupid things imaginable.

I still find it stunning Goodwillie was apparently considered good in Scotland.. the one thing I can't get over is how every time you saw him with the ball it was like watching someone in a slow motion replay.. the dude looked like he was running through treacle every time he moved.

5 managers, plus went to Crystal Palace and they sent him back early even though they were still paying his wages (well part of them). Anyhow, he's happily back up in Dundee dating Miss Scotland, so sure he'll be ok.

Any further news on Robinson to Forest, or was that agent talk reminding everyone he's not dead?
