They deserve it in EVERY thread FOREVER. :D

Klc = kean lovin crew by any chance? ;)

Mmm, I have always liked Givet but in reality has he really really tried to get into the team, for whatever reason he was not picked we may find out sooner or later, but at the end of the day he has picked up a sizable wedge over the last couple of seasons for doing -- well not much, so if he has a chance of a move well move and have some balls. he has taken Rovers for a ride long enough so now get off the bike. Like i said at the start i have always liked him but this is leaving a sour taste.

Rather a simplistic viewpoint. He's had documented heart problems so all he needs is a professional medical opinion that he has been psychologically affected by it (Muamba as a prime example) and you would end up on the losing side in court.

Not like you to miss the point and go off on a tangent. Nobody mentioned going to court, there is no documented evidence his heart problems affected him pyschologically, and all the club need to do is point to the fact his 'problems' really started when he had to take a contractual relegation pay cut. To mention him in the same breath as Muamba is frankly a joke.

Well he definitely stormed off on a couple of occasions midway through the match, with Charlton away last season being a prime example.

There's being passionate, and then there's being an unprofessional @#/?. Givet seems to fall into the latter on too many occasions. That being said, you can't blame any player for trying to get a golden handshake off us when they've got distance left to run on their deals. Deals that these idiots in charge lucratively handed out to them like confetti.

Very well put. Good riddance. Let's build a team around those who are committed.

If Rovers were a black and white war film, Givet would be played by Anthony Quayle!

Nice to see that people are finally seeing Givet for what he is at last, rather than the usual "Gallic Warrior" (which is an oxymoron itself) tripe that many have been holding on to.

It never ceases to amaze me what high regard some held Givet in whilst at the same time lambasting poor Lowe constantly.

One, an old and supposedly experienced professional who you would have hoped in times of need would have shown committment and leadership qualities. The other a young lad still learning his trade who was thrown onto the pitch each week, often out of position, and asked to do his best alongside a bunch of over-hyped arrogant leeches that had no interest in fighting for the cause.

One that was a quitter and hid at every available opportunity, and the other that stood up to be counted and gave 100% every week regardless of the shambles around him and even when his own fans were turning on him.

I know which one i think deserves a pat on the back and a thank-you, and which deserves to be told to go stick it where the sun don't shine. But my view tends to often be the polar opposite of some of our fans.

Before this ends up as yet another venkys bashing thread it might be worth pointing out that if indeed it was the current owners who agreed his current deal then they did at least include a relegation clause and all this is demonstrating is how dangerous our policy of being one of the highest wage payers (for "average" players) during the previous and current regimes.

Of course we can bitch that it is ridiculous but how else should we have kept our players? Looking at it pragmatically i see the seeds of the problem in the previous regime and then our current owners being naive/crooked/foolish (choose your favourite) to continue that policy before finally realising just how @#/? we are.

I don't believe anyone could criticise the previous owner's tenure given what's gone on since they moved on. Lets be realistic, they got left something that they didn't want in their fathers will, ran it very well and above expectation (mine) for a decade and when the financial heat became too much in the kitchen they sold out with the club in as healthy a situation as could reasonably be expected.

Funny how the corrupt and obviously crooked events taking place over the following couple of years after the sale appear to be fading from some peoples memories. They haven't faded much from mine.

You know that do you? How?

Not only that but a player with a proven heart problem cannot help but be affected by what happened to Muamba ..... yet you describe it as a joke!

I don't really see how anybody can feel sorry for Givet in the slightest, the man who has been extremely unprofessional. His heart problems haven't brought this on, his sulk about wage cuts have ... Lets think back to the direct quotes in the paper saying he would have committed suicide at this club had his wife and kids had not been in this country. Now this man on the brink of depression be it heart or wage led still hasn't moved on even though a club is happy to welcome him. A fresh move to improve my mental health and home life would far outweigh wages (of which he has already earned enough to be a very wealthy gentleman).

I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have given my best once Allardyce had been replaced by Kean and the whole rotten stench became apparent. It appears to me that all the French speakers hated Kean et al, maybe it was the singling out and disposal of staunch Sam's man EHD but whatever it was I do give them credit for having the balls to stand up against him and what was an obvious sting. Most of the rest just took the money, signed the non disclosure clause and ran away.

What, and you think Givet is going to do anything different?

Or is this lion-hearted warrior of ours going to continue to fight the good fight for Rovers against their evil owners even when he leaves the club. Jeez, the fairytale image of him just keeps building doesn't it.

Doubt it. The fight is lost. However revenge is a dish best served cold and if I were his agent I'd try to pull the Venky's neck out for as much as I could on the basis that they deserve it and anyway everyone else has.

There is little justice, when it comes to football fans' responses to players. I remember Parkes being slated for not hoofing the ball forward and Mick Heaton being booed after a couple of mistakes against Port Vale.

We could probably do a thesis on exactly what defines who is in and who is out..." Exclusion and Exclusion: discuss in the context of differering cultures on the Blackburn End and Riverside."

Yes, Givet is a quitter yet is often spared the harsh judgement meted out to Lowe, who always gives his all. A beard doth not a warrior make!

Most of all, I did laugh at your oxymoron point because I remember a holiday wind up merchant evoking Gallic fury -almost a challenge to a duel-by arguing that the French Resistance didn't start until 1945!

I honestly don't get the negativity that spews on these pages daily.

For whatever reason the last 2 years haven't been right for Givet, but before that he was a warrior on the pitch. When we knew how to defend as a team he really was an asset, and a good initial loan signing. He has some mental issues, but who doesnt?

To simply right him off now he has left as money grabbing tosser makes you look like "Johnny sour grapes"

Having travelled all the way to Swansea in my last (ever?) match in the Premiership I would just love to know the truth of what happened on the touch-line.

Between Super-technician Keano and complex Gallic Givet its a real conundrum.

Has he really gone yet?

Rooney getting 5mn times more stick for daring to leave the 'theatre of dreams'(self-named)

Despite earning a king's ransom, he refused to go out on the pitch for my club, End of...Accept it if you want!

How can it be sour grapes when I have wanted him gone for about 2 years? If anything it's sour grapes that he is still bloody here.

Anyway, my main point isn't just to slag Givet, he might have problems etc etc I don't know.

What gets me is how many of our fans hold him on a pedestal, even after his woeful actions over the last 2 years or so, and yet absolutely hound some of our other players like Lowe, Gamst, Hanley etc.

It blows my mind. Lowe and Gamst in particular may currently be very limited players and often have poor off games, but they both give it their all and have so far been good servants to the club.

I work on the notion that I can only expect people to try and do their best. If their best isn't good enough, then fair enough, there is no point barracking them about it as there is nothing further they can do.

Do I think Givet has tried his best for Rovers? Do I hell. Exactly the same reason I despise Danny Murphy. Not cos he is @#/?, as many would say, cos he is not. I dislike him because IMO he never even tried. And that is unforgiveable.

Givet was badly managed and badly advised after Allardyce was given the boot.

Quality player in my book that should have been accommodated at all costs, we’ll not get another player of similar ability in our current situation.

Exactly Gav , not good enough for a team near the bottom of the 2nd division in England but good enough for top flight Italian footy .. This board is on LSD at times.

I thought it was his attitude and professionalism being questioned, not his ability? We really don't read the same board, do we?

Givet's another one, like Samba, who gets an easy ride because of Venky's & Kean. Regardless of the circumstances at the club, he's been paid week in, week out, and should have been available for the cause. Instead he's shirked his responsibilities, thrown tantrums mid-match, and been hiding ever since.

You could say the same about players like Cantona and Di Canio Topman, difference is they eventually had managers that could handle the player, it was better to have them in your side than in someone elses.

Givet for all his failings should still be at the club in my book.
