[Archived] Clearout begins at Rovers

Recommended Posts

I would defo let Pedersen leave/sell him. not a player we need now. Been a very good player for us and he has been very loyal to Rovers. But he is not suited to the Championship.

Hopefully Orr will be gone this week. Talking to a Blackpool fan today and he heard that Blackpool are interest in Orr as they need a right back.

I would let Givet go now we have bought in Songo'o.

Rosado, Formica, Slew can leave.

and hopefully Robinson and Etuhu will leave aswell

And if they want to stay chaddy?

Kevin Davies has to beat both of those... Considering how many he scored and how much he cost!

Really? Well after seeing the way he developed under Allardyce I for one certainly wish we'd kept him. Can't say anything like the same for Grabbi and Ward.... or Blake for that matter, or Per Pederson, or Jordi, or Ostenstad etc etc to near infinity. All Kevin Davies needed to become a massive success here was a good manager.

We'll have to pay them.

Orr, Formica, Pedersen, Givet, Etuhu, Dunn, Robinson and Rosado are the players that the club could/should move on. If it doesn't happen, then there's not much we can do about it. We could always pay some of them off, but do we have the cash to drop on lump settlements? Some of them would be useful squad members, that would help with a push for promotion.

Trouble with Davies was that we didn't know what we were buying. For that sort of money, we thought we were getting a top striker with the added bonus of him being a strong lad. Hindsight tells us that his strength/sharp elbows are the only thing really going for him at the top level.

Not read LET but is Peds on his way?

Hope not as he has a part to play.

Disappointing if they move him on especially when we all have to suffer displays form your Lowes and Marrows of this world.

One step forward two steps back.

Moving Pedersen on just confirms that these Indian owners were only ever interested in the money.

If he's not playing (even in a squad capacity), surely best to get rid regardless of money? And I say that as a fan of his but frankly he has little to contribute now imo.

How is letting go a 30-something high-earner who's well past his prime and not playing, indicative that Venky's were "only in it for the monies?" And how does this reconcile with signing Murphy & Etuhu last year on fat contracts?

why? are they exactly the same player, on the same wages, playing in the same position?

No but I'd guess there isn't much between them in wages

MGP signed his contract in the Pren, Dunn signed his in the Championship. I bet there's a big difference, even accounting for a wage decrease factored into Peds account when we got relegated. Neither are going to be regulars, even at Championship level, so i bet Dunn's contracr/wage reflects that. MGP's certainly won't.

Dunn also makes sure the other players in the dressing room know just how important Blackburn Rovers is.

He's a leader, Pedersen isn't.

Do we know that?

He clearly cares about the club but from what I can see he's BFF's with Mr Blackburn Rovers Bradley Orr

If the pieshop is the destination he'll lead the way. He's also the goto man if you are wondering how to 'fiddle' your way to another 1 year deal

Exactly right Tom. He was also mega buddies with a certain Mr Kean.

Dunn has been a good player but I think he has been far too happy to be 'injured' and has also been particularly vocal in his defence of people who quite frankly could not care a jot about Blackburn Rovers.

He turns it on for the Burnley games, and fair enough he provided me with one of the best moments of my life a few months ago, but I feel that he has exhausted his usefulness now.

Wow, so because he supported Kean once and is friends with Bradley Orr, David Dunn is now the enemy?

I truly can't stand this forum sometimes.

David Dunn is the kind of person we want to keep around this club.

It's heart has been torn out enough already, if we lose people like Dunn then all that's left is us and we already feel distanced enough.

The type of leader who tells the fans to get real, and that we should all get behind that donkey Bradley Orr. The man who has spent more time consistently on the treatment table than on the pitch.

Compare that with Pedersen who trains hard, keeps his gob shut even when slated by that idiot Singh, stays fit, and chips in with a few assists and the odd goal. Know who I'd want either time.

Having said that I'm not sure I'd have either of them still at the club. Both high wages for a small role. Probably best for all concerned that Peds goes.

But appreciate the unglamorous work Peds does that doesn't get credit, and think those that think he's useless and a disgrace are way wide of the mark. Last season he had a fair number of good games and sub appearances. But guess it's got to be all good or all bad with some of our players...

Off the top of my head I can think of a fair number of players I'd want out permanently before Pedersen. Shame we can't clear them before getting rid of someone who I think could still make a decent contribution.

we have to meet the FFP rules, so with Pedersen on around 30k a week and NOT a first team regular or even on the bench then we have to look to sell/get rid of Pedersen. Looks like he's not in Bowyer plans with Evans, Cairney, Lowe, Williamson and Marrow looking like our 5 centre midfielders.

Pedersen have been very good player for Rovers and has scored some very good and important goals for Rovers. will always been remember as good Rovers player and someone who cares about the club a lot.

Nicko is saying that some players Rovers want rid of are now training away from the Rovers first team squad.

here are his 2 tweets on this subject.

Waiting on some going through the door. Hear five or six now training away from big team. #

Formica Rosado Orr among those out of picture totally.
